00:20Essentially Cheese was a feral cat who showed up in Lana's yard and would not leave.
00:24After months of trying to gain his trust, she eventually rescues him.
00:27Once he was rescued, it took Cheese almost a year to completely trust her.
00:31When he did finally come around, it was like a switch had flipped and it was all love and cuddles.
00:35But then everything changed the night that Lana's husband brought home another kitten.
00:39I could never expect this from my husband.
00:42Their new kitten Krystal was actually somewhat of a rescue herself.
00:46She'd been surrendered because she was too high energy and essentially nobody wanted her.
00:50She was so active and playful.
00:53In total, it took them six days to become best friends.
00:58Now, if you're a cat owner, you know that six days is quite a fast time for introductions,
01:02but that's what makes her relationship so special.
01:05Before this, Cheese never trusted or played with another cat.
01:08Everything was going great for a while until out of nowhere,
01:10Lana noticed that Cheese was starting to act a little different.
01:13I could clearly see that something was bothering him, but I couldn't just understand what.
01:17We took him to 24-hour hospital. We did some x-rays and ultrasound.
01:24Unfortunately, Cheese got bad analysis. Honestly, I was so scared.
01:29While Lana and the vets were trying to figure out what was going on with Cheese,
01:32Krystal never left his side.
01:34We went to hospitals over six times and he was stressed.
01:39I always told my husband to keep Krystal near him and I watched that he relaxed a little.
01:46Whether it was in the car, at the vet, even in the carrier.
01:50She just knew that her brother was in pain and she was right there comforting him.
01:53It turns out it was a broken tooth and the nerve was exposed.
01:57He's got surgery and now he's totally okay.
02:00When he was a feral cat, he was scared of other cats and now he has Krystal in his life.
