Looking for an easy way to prepare Sona Masuri rice in a pressure cooker? In this video, I’m sharing a simple everyday method for cooking Loose Sona Masuri Premium Rice, purchased from JioMart.

For this method, I use 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water, then cook it until the pressure cooker reaches 3 whistles. After switching off the flame, I allow the pressure to release naturally before opening the cooker.

🍚 Rice used: Loose Sona Masuri Premium Rice
🛒 Purchased from: JioMart
💧 Water ratio: 1 cup rice + 2 cups water
🔥 Cooking: 3 whistles

Simple Cooking Process

Wash the rice thoroughly 3–4 times and drain the water completely. Add fresh water, close the pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles. Once the pressure has released naturally, open the lid and gently fluff the rice.

The result is soft, fluffy rice that can be served with dal, sambar, curry, vegetables, pickle or your favourite Indian side dishes.

If you're learning how to cook Sona Masuri rice, this is a simple pressure-cooker method to try. Keep in mind that cooking results can vary depending on the rice, pressure cooker and preferred texture.
