03:28Exactly one month has passed since former President Juan Orlando Hernández returned to Honduras following a pardon granted on December
03:351, 2025 by U.S. President Donald Trump, who commuted a 45-year sentence imposed after a U.S. court
03:43found Hernández guilty of illegally trafficking over 400 tons of cocaine.
03:48Judging by his statements, Hernández appears dissatisfied with the slow pace of the case still pending against him in Honduras,
03:56as well as the Attorney General's request that he be placed in pretrial retention.
04:06This hearing has concluded, and we have been informed that it will resume next Wednesday at 9 a.m.
04:14Fortunately, the presentation of evidence has begun, and one person has already testified, though, from our perspective, nothing relevant to
04:28our case was raised.
04:31In that sense, it seems the system is moving at a measured pace.
04:37While I would prefer greater speed, we understand that all parties want the opportunity to state their views.
04:45It is an adversarial process, as you know.
04:51Hernández, who returned to the country amidst a massive welcoming event, had initially called for all evidence against him to
04:58be dismissed based on the pardon granted in the United States.
05:02Although his own national party currently holds power in the country, it appears he is not receiving the level of
05:09cooperation he expected.
05:11This may due to a strategy driving more by media optics than legal considerations, as the majority of the public
05:18does not view Hernández's return or the prospect of his impunity, paper-free.
05:28In the case of Juan Orlando Hernández, Hondurans are no longer easily fooled.
05:34They do not buy into the victim mentality or the bravado Hernández brought back from the United States, portraying himself
05:40as a hero.
05:43We know he was convicted in the United States, not by a Honduran court.
05:48A pardon does not mean that investigations are undone or that the evidence leading to his conviction in the U
05:54.S. court is destroyed.
05:55It has no bearing on that, so he remains a convict in the eyes of God and the Honduran people.
06:02The trial against the former president involving charges of money laundering, electoral fraud, and defraud in the state will resume
06:10next week.
06:11According to evidence presented by the prosecution, Hernández used state funds to pay his 2013 election campaign while serving as
06:20president of the National Congress.
06:27As in any trial, the court decides on the admissibility of evidence, and the presentation of evidence is currently underway.
06:35There were rejections regarding evidence, specifically regarding the prosecution's submissions.
06:42But the defense's evidence, consisting of documents and a witness, has been admitted.
06:50As the former president stated, we have begun presenting the evidence and are following due process.
06:59Proceedings will continue as scheduled next Wednesday.

08:06In Mexico, another protest was held by the parents of the 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers College in

08:13who wound up being seen on the night of September 26, 2014.
08:18With one month to go before the 12th anniversary of this case, the victims' families continue to demand justice and
08:25clarifications of the events.
08:27Antonio Aranda has the details in the following report.
08:30On September 26, the parents of the 43 missing students from the Isidro Burgos Rural Teachers College in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero,
08:40will mark 12 years of demanding justice for their children.
08:43As they do every month, they protested in Mexico City to demand that the investigations continue
08:49so they can find out what really happened to their sons.
08:54We take to the streets on the 26th of every month to demand justice and punishment for those responsible.
09:01And I believe that all of this, thanks to all the effort we've put in,
09:07all the struggles we've endured, is finally coming to fruition.
09:12People who have been in prison have been arrested.
09:15The recent arrest of Angela Guire, who was governor of the state of Guerrero at the time of the 43
09:21students' disappearance,
09:22is a substantial step forward.
09:24He was governor at the time, and there has been no justice.
09:30Now that he's in prison, he must tell the whole truth.

13:13Meanwhile, in Tibet, three have been reported dead and 558 missing, 260 of those foreigners.
13:21As for the cause of the catastrophe, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, the seismic activity initially recorded as
13:28an earthquake was in fact a glacial collapse and a debris flow,
13:32which caused the democulars leaving hundreds of dead and missing people.
13:36Floodings are not rare in the area, as the region's steep belly are economic lifelines and travel corridors, but are
13:43precarious when disaster strikes.
13:51Following the devastating landslide, China has deployed rescue teams and military personnel to the Tibet-Nepal border region.
13:58Emergency crews and soldiers have been mobilized to clear debris, locate survivors and deliver critical supplies to affected communities.
14:05Along the mountain border corridor, heavy machinery and specialized emergency units are operating to restore access and provide immediate disaster
14:13relief.
14:20For this part, South Korea has deployed a joint rapid response team to Nepal following devastating flash floods and landslides.
14:27Officials announced the departure of an inter-agency team including foreign affairs, police and fire agency officials to lead local
14:34operations.
14:35The team's primary focus is ensuring swift and safe search and rescue efforts for South Korean citizens affected by the
14:42disaster.
14:49And in Algeria, at least 12 people are dead and 54 resulted injured as wildfire ravaged the country's northeastern provinces.
14:57On Wednesday, the Minister of Interior said Sayyud reported that the death occurred in the provinces of Jiyel, Behaia and
15:05Tiziozou.
15:06Sayyud reported 54 burn cases at the hospital, including six people who were in critical condition.
15:13The fire comes as a severe heat wave sweeps across Algeria and neighboring Tunisia, with 154 fires outbreak recorded across
15:21the country on Wednesday,
15:23including 36 in Behaia province, 18 of which had been brought under control.

16:35health authorities warned that regional cooperation is vital to prevent cross-water transmission.
16:40The Democratic Republic of the Congo has recorded over 2,700 deaths, with insecurity on population displacement complicating containment efforts.
16:48Officials called for immediate cross-water monitoring and direct support from local response teams to safeguard continental public health.
17:02At least 27 civilians were killed, including four children, following a series of attacks in South Kordofan State, Sudan.
17:09The Sudanese Doctored Networks attributed the attacks to the Sudanese People's Liberation Movement in North Sudan, led by Abdelaziz Al
17:19-Hilou.
17:20These attacks, targeting the areas of Al-Kardud and Abu Hamama, focused on residential areas of the Otoro tribe in
