03:18Good evening Trinidad and Tobago international audience and of course our brothers and sisters
03:22in Grenada.
03:23This is Beyond the Tape.
03:25I'm your host Whitney Husbands.
03:27The weekend is finally here and yes the eagle has landed for many of us and it is also a
03:34long
03:34long weekend.
03:35Independence long weekend.
03:37Independence long weekend.
03:37And the reason why you're seeing my lips red.
03:39I wasn't able to find something like a really bright red that I really wanted to put on.
03:44I might blend into the set.
03:45But either way I said I had to represent with something red because it's all about national
03:50pride.
03:50And speaking of national pride the gentleman who's going to guide me to close off this week's
03:56show and of course the end of August ASP Russell.
04:01Good evening to you sir.
04:01So since it's your time meaning the weekend the services all we have to stand up like
04:06this.
04:07Am I doing it right?
04:08Hands out like this.
04:09Nice man.
04:10You see.
04:11Yes.
04:11So I salute you.
04:13Thank you Miss Husbands.
04:14Your Future Husbands.
04:14Yes, yes, yes, yes.
04:16Bring it on shut.
04:16Nice.
04:18A good evening Miss Husbands.
04:19Good evening Trinidad and Tobago.
04:21You need that we are international of you was on behalf of our commissioner of police
04:24who is working very hard.
04:26Extremely hard.
04:27Deputy commissioners of police one of which I just came out to meeting with and all our
04:32assistant commissioners and first and second division officers of the str.
04:36startup to be local police Annis happy 64th independent and tab in case I forget.
04:42we wanted to come out and celebrate with us you know my truth should be oh yeah my
04:46office also be oh yeah looking speak and span well I saw some of them marching
04:51playing nice music for you all to chip along with us you know the streets of
04:57port of Spain you know it's just a good just the whole idea of it being Friday
05:03independence weekend the eagle has landed I'm smiling and missus runs with
05:08them missus once I'm a Jackie they were telling me mean things just a short while
05:11ago but yeah I would not have that I'm not sure what just because they were telling me mean
05:18things a short while ago look at this look at this God is good this is this is really
05:22nice to see the young people Ellison rain or shine they were all to know representing
05:28I told you I saw some of them um when I was leaving work and they stood in the
05:33rain they look sharp they look ready and this is what it's all about the red
05:38the white and black beautiful twin island of Trinidad and Tobago 64 years as an
05:44independent country it is a beautiful moment to embrace and I hope that the
05:49young ones if it's your first parade that you're on the old kind of lady on that
05:53horse look at that listen I have to make up the ladies of course I have to of course
05:58earlier this morning I actually um when I was on my radio program we identified DCP
06:05Benjamin and we said listen when you see she step because she in charge of operations
06:12yes Martin my apologies with Martin DCP Martin and when she stepped out it was like
06:17here she's in full control so with that being said it seems like we're ready to go of course
06:24and you know the rain only stops cricket TTR we won the win tonight tonight we need the win tonight
06:32please and thank you but you know we're here it's a good Friday yes now did you know or did
06:38you were you able to see that partial eclipse that took place
06:43and that that took place like around 9 23 p.m. last night yeah I was in a gym at
06:50that time um so I did not witness it I am not too
06:58specifically occur and you know so well I want you to take a look at it and we have to
07:03credit
07:04Andrea de Silva for this picture a beautiful picture of this partial um solar eclipse and it's a beautiful thing
07:12look at that that is not gorgeous of course I mean if you were able to see it in real
07:18it would have been even sweeter right
07:20not but it's my lens of what you're saying fine fine you and jack you're attacking me today wow I
07:26don't know
07:26you're in your head a lot if I ain't come if I ain't come next okay because my feelings are
07:30hurt I don't think
07:31so if we only tell the public what's really going on but I digress with that because we are focusing
07:38this is a weekend of independence and of course the police commissioner had the opportunity where he spoke to the
07:44public so I want you all to take a listen
07:47so our purpose here this morning is to attend the last and final dress rehearsal for the 64th independence day
07:56parade um as my colleague from the defense force said it was extremely successful and I'd like to commend all
08:03the leaders of all the different um arms of national security and uh especially the gold commander
08:10leader of the triangle police service effort uh DCP Susette Martin um I'd like to reassure the public that the
08:18police we are well poised for dealing with all eventualities coming out of the parade set for Monday we have
08:26222 officers set for the parade and we have over 400 officers set for contingency methods and supporting resource rules
08:36in speaking about the supporting resource rules we have um placed personnel at both the ceremonial parade along the route
08:45as well as for the cultural event within the evening
08:50um with that I would like to add to members of the public that we are operating with legal notice
08:58671
09:00um for the independence day parade and all eventualities coming from it we have particular and I urge everyone to
09:09take a look at it it's very extensive um with regards to parking restrictions as well as the blocking of
09:16particular streets um on that particular day we also have the CPL and that is also covered by um 667
09:26legal notice number 667 and they that also has particular parking
09:30restrictions restrictions both legal notices carry different times for different areas and streets so I would urge persons to pay
09:37close attention to them in general we are looking at a complete um lock off of parking within the savannah
09:44from 6 a.m. until 2 a.m.
09:50so thus that is an indication to members of the public that the savannah is off limits for that entire
09:57period we have also instituted particular traffic management um which would be manned by the officers who are on the
10:06ground so we urge members of the public to also pay close attention to the instructions and directions that are
10:11given by the uniformed police officers we just recently concluded our threat assessment
10:17and it has revealed a very low threshold so thus we are comfortable with hosting this event the posture of
10:25the ttps for this entire independence day celebration is one of professionalism visibility and facilitation and thus I want to
10:33reassure the public that this is one celebration
10:38where we are coming together as one unity for one country so it's all arms of the protective services on
10:47board for the purpose of showing a particular display to the members of the public of unity in strength
10:56yes
10:57well you know the commissioner spoke about the comment together of the various arms of national security um
11:06he also spoke of the unity strength also a legal notice 671 of 2026 and 667 of 2026 and I
11:18want to reiterate the um commissioner's um call
11:21yes
11:21for persons to pay particular attention to these uh two legal notices so that you'll be even better informed
11:28as to where to park where not to park I mean we want you to come out and have a
11:32good time
11:33we don't want you to have to spend five hundred dollars
11:36at all witness
11:38any of the festivities over the weekend maybe cricket maybe the parade maybe the cultural show
11:42so we ask that you just you know comply and you know we dare we have your back
11:48yes we have your back but we need it to park properly
11:51now as the commissioner said it's trinidad and tobago
11:54and with that being said we have to acknowledge the ttps tobago division stands ready for independence day 2026
12:01now the ttps tobago division attended the independence day rehearsal with discipline dedication
12:07an unwavering patriotic spirit giving their all as preparations continue for the nation's 64th independence day celebration on monday august
12:1831st 2026
12:20now led by asps sydney joe also mahalia bacchus and sharon williams and supported by a strong contingent of male
12:31and female police officers the tobago division demonstrated professionalism team work and commitment throughout the drills and rehearsals their presence
12:41precision and dedication helped make the preparations seamless as trinidad and tobago gets ready to proudly celebrate the
12:50celebrate another year of independence tobago tobago yes man good work to mr jobe yes i worked with mr jobe
12:59a while back um i worked with miss baha miss bacchus
13:02mm-hmm she and i will remain close throughout and sharon williams is my batch so i'm so proud to
13:09see them you know taking that forward role that responsibility for the parade and you know i know they will
13:16do well and they will perform and lead the troops accordingly yes
13:19why don't we don't have police officers on bikes in trinidad well um it was really specifically set up for
13:27the tourism oriented police section because of the amount of tourism that is in tobago
13:32so it's ready to patrol the beaches if the store bay the pigeon point etc so that unit was um
13:38more specific for tobago so we see them in short pants and stuff like that yes yes i think we
13:43should have that here i don't mind
13:44i've seen some of the officers in short pants you could wear short pants why not that's how you know
13:49i could wear short pants i don't um so you're just big on top um
13:54china and tobago i don't know why miss if i don't come next week it's because miss husband's just provoking
14:00me i don't think so
14:01um but maybe we could look at it um tropical country yeah we could look at it but it's very
14:09so inclined to the tourism um
14:11that tourism unit in tobago and i i it was to bring child of one of the past commissioners to
14:18really ensure
14:19that the tourists feed that that level of security and safety when they uh enjoy our lovely beaches um throughout
14:26so
14:27you know yes and i would be surprised for the parade on monday the 31st that we may see some
14:34officers in
14:35the shorts because for history shows nobody ttps has started with the high socks and the the three-quarter
14:40pants not so we might show some history so socks and putty putty yes right you never know they might
14:47bring
14:47it out and young wants to see it we're bringing no well you all want to see the officer's legs
14:52don't worry
14:53that no well it did it's part it's part of where all started long pants my husbands yeah all in
14:59long
14:59pants all in long pants all right i'll take that involved yesterday uh we showed a video in the woodbrook
15:05area where a lady was a victim of a criminal act where she was waiting clearly for something to eat
15:13and
15:13so what took place there where a person decided it was my moment or the opportunity to take this bag
15:21now i know with that being said i i'm not sure if asp could guide us with this but it's
15:27alleged that in
15:28the handbag it contained forty thousand dollars in that said bag and if you have any updates on this that
15:35you could give us well i i am not certain how much money was in the bag but if that
15:41was indeed the figure
15:42it would show that she may have been followed from since the bank and that's why we asked persons to
15:48be conscious and to be aware but i want to commend the citizens of chenelle and tobago tell me why
15:54miss husbands um the ttps hope to make an arrest with this in the near future um
16:04why i said jim yesterday information was passed up trusted police officer the police officer
16:11passed the information on to me and i passed the information on to superintendent birch of the
16:18northeastern division i want to thank him for his quick response and the update and i also want to thank
16:27the relatives of that suspect for their cooperation as well well it accepted i want to thank
16:35the relatives and i hope that other relatives could lead by example that's amazing i thank them for their
16:44assistance thus far we will continue to update the public and hopefully an arrest is made soon so to the
16:53girlfriend the cousin the brother the friend who is keeping him we are urging you to do the right thing
17:00as well i thank you i know when you all make statements like that all you already know the answer
17:06and
17:07you know what so they're asking you to come in peacefully and speaking of being peaceful we have
17:12been asking persons not just for this long weekend that is approaching but more so to please keep the
17:19peace especially as we are celebrating national pride the reason why i'm saying that it's because um early
17:26this morning there was a report of of sorry and an altercation in the sealer's area where one man was
17:32allegedly shot and another was stopped to death we're asking persons to keep the peace this is not a time
17:38to have bloodshed on the streets blood should not be running on the streets right now at all and you
17:45know
17:45that is i i i wouldn't want to believe that that is um as a result of a fight or
17:50something that took place
17:51in the community because we supposed to live as one especially the community so it i'm sadden to hear
17:56that um situations like these and when you hear um stabbings and choppings and stuff like that a lot of
18:02the times the victim and the offender they know each other on a close level yes with respect to those
18:11type
18:12of crimes i'm hoping that it's not two friends who fell out or just two neighbors with a misunderstanding
18:17and you know i really really really hope that you know we could figure it out and no one lose
18:22their
18:23life somebody died yourself yes allegedly they said someone wow so condolences today to the family so we
18:29now have persons that we are looking for as a result of a homicide and you know it's strange i
18:33have not
18:33heard any incidents taking place in this area for quite some time yeah for quite some very long time so
18:40it's strange to hear this now but i'm sure we'll get an update as we move forward with this and
18:44condolences to the family by the way all right now we have an update from the ttps now two denied
18:51bail
18:51one granted bail in robbery with violence matter two men were denied bail while the third was granted
18:59bail with surety in the sum of fifty thousand dollars when the matter involving three men charged
19:05with robbery with violence was heard at the south sea masters court on thursday 27th of august 2026.
19:13now adrian neptune and joshua benjamin were denied bail while joshua benjamin was granted bail with surety
19:22in the sum of fifty thousand dollars benjamin was also ordered to report to a police station once per
19:29week between six a.m. and six p.m. and was placed on a daily curfew between the hours of
19:35eight p.m. and
19:36five thirty a.m. the three men were jointly charged with robbery with violence following investigations
19:43into a report which occurred on june 28th 2026 at number naparimo may arrow road new grant esp well i'm
19:53happy that they are before the quarter yes and persons would get justice soon you know it's nice
19:59though obviously you know because we already tech generated something we are working hard on improving
20:03and um i'm always happy when i hear persons before the court a person's being made uh accountable for
20:10their actions they call to answer what we want is the continued support especially victims come to
20:15court to give your evidence you know we will protect you as best as we can we needed to come
20:22out and give
20:22that evidence which brings the matter home to its fruition because we need you to do your part to
20:28secure conviction yes you know a lot of the times we hold persons for different for various offenses
20:34and um a lot of persons choose like um or i ain't wasting the time or that might take too
20:43long in
20:43court without even giving it a chance you know so we ask persons to do your part because crime reduction
20:49crime prevention is a partnership between you and i i cannot do it without you you cannot do it
20:55without me and we need each other we need each other to fulfill our roles and responsibilities to
21:01the best of our ability all right so with that being said let's take a look at what's making our
21:05so we update as of august 28th 2026 number of operations 12 352 number of targets prior to offenders
21:17three thousand one hundred and eleven searches conducted four thousand three hundred and fifteen
21:22traffic operation seven thousand six hundred and fifty four total persons arrested five thousand four
21:29hundred and thirty three total persons charged one thousand two hundred and eighty two
21:37firearms recovered we're seeing an increase with the pistols giving us a total of two hundred and ninety-nine
21:42ammunition recovered we're seeing an increase with the nine millimeter also the five point five six
21:48giving us a total of six thousand one hundred and nineteen and dangerous drug seas we see an increase
21:54once again with the cannabis and cocaine esp firearm the usual firearm once you see it over the street
22:01ammunition and drugs yes cocaine marijuana and again you know we have a continuously thank the public
22:09you know for their assistance because the public do provide a lot of information it could be
22:14better and we could do more you want blood yes no we want to make sure land to be the
22:19safest country in the
22:20caribbean yeah but when you only we have to be safe too we want to say that again when you
22:25all leave us and
22:25you give the information of course you have to be safe too of course and we would and that is
22:30it we will continue to do our best you see how the police service are the police service are the
22:34police service are so many different initiatives that we are using right now that that we're working on to just
22:39get things better not only for the public but for our members the welfare and look at the police force
22:46we have continuous recruitment we have absorption so we are working to fill that void you know to really
22:53be able to put as much boots on the ground as the term to say as much as possible because
22:59we know we have the
22:59attrition rate yes but and we are continuing doing development for leaders and managers supervisors you know
23:06so we're trying to make the police service into that well oil machine under the stewardship of the goodly
23:11commissioner mr alistair govaro i mean i know sometimes we don't always get it right but allow us the
23:18opportunity to fix it you'll be our judge and our biggest critic respectfully and allow us to just you
23:24know work at tweak and i like when you're calling you'll give me suggestions because i do take it back
23:28i like
23:29when i stand here and you'll call and give information and to the guy who spoke to me yesterday there's
23:35one
23:35person i was able to i was able to treat with your issue and i didn't call that is with
23:39respect to the
23:40parking traffic situation yes i echoed your sentiments and to the executive of the northeastern division i'm
23:50yet to call the other person i didn't get a chance to but i will call the other person
23:54um with respect to the situation with the attorney but when you call here and you you give your
24:00information and i i really do work on it there are other persons who say that they receive calls from
24:04me
24:05some of them have to thank me openly on air so you know this is what i'm here for as
24:09that gap between
24:10you the police service that i'm here to fill that void so all right it's time for us to take
24:16a look at
24:17what's making today's headlines
24:19so
24:52and those are your stories making today's headlines remember you can give us a call at
24:55623-1711 or extension 1996 or 1997 we'll be back
25:14new maybelline serum lipstick maybe it's not just lipstick it's serum infused lush color with a
25:21hyaluronic acid and oil blend for eight hour plumping moisture new maybelline serum lipstick maybe it's

25:35every change across the region count on us for accurate forecasts time your lids and the weather
25:41information you need every day because when the forecast changes you should never be caught off guard
25:58so
26:10so
26:11so
26:11so
26:58And welcome back.
26:59If you're now joining us, we have ASP Russell here with us.
27:02We have a call, so let's head to the phone line.
27:04Caller, good evening.
27:06Good evening, caller.
27:18Good evening.
27:39I wish that these people, the king, other, whatever, are the young people.
27:45I understand that you're going to be with your army in Europe.
27:51You're going to be with your army of the king.
27:53I'm going to be with the young people, thinking it's important.
27:57And I have some reason.
28:00If we are friends, because of course, you must know exactly how you are.
28:04Guys, you have aijn arguments.
28:06To be training a team.
28:09Don't keep it different.
28:11Because, because you need to call it because of what that does.
28:14You're not going to agree with us.
28:15You're going to have to just pick up who have a line.
28:17Like you ought to get with people and put us familiar.
28:20You're just going to be with 쓰 wieder.
28:22And if you're not a producer of putting in, you're just going to be there.
28:54All right, Kola, thank you.
28:55Kola, I hear you with the gang investigations, and I know I too wish that we could have advanced stuff
29:02at a quicker rate.
29:03Now, when you're dealing with gang leaders, remember they are just given the instructions, right?
29:09So you really have to find all the critical pieces of evidence to show their involvement,
29:15and that they are the one that gave that order to do so to X or rob this or snatch
29:20this.
29:21But by tattoos?
29:23It takes...
29:26Yes, I mean, and that is it.
29:28So we build files, we look for that affiliation, we look for that connection.
29:32There are other things that take place as well that I would not divulge.
29:38Okay.
29:38But it takes time.
29:42But I assure you that, you know, soon, soon, soon, soon, a lot of the hard work will come to
29:48fruition.
29:48And I know you're saying it's better to try and fail than fail to try, and it's not that we
29:53aren't trying.
29:53But what we want to do is make sure that because our standard before the court is beyond reasonable doubt.
30:02So there's a particular responsibility, a huge responsibility placed on us as to the standard, we must prove our case.
30:10And if we go and we fail, then here what happens, these persons, they now sue the state, and then
30:15they become millionaires.
30:17So the state now gives them money that they could now put towards furthering and enhancing their illegal activities.
30:24And we don't want to give them any free monies, any money of the taxpayers.
30:29All right.
30:30I hope that answered the question to the caller there.
30:32But I have a question for you now.
30:35When it comes to these motorized bikes, ASP, it is frustrating now.
30:42We are putting our cyclists.
30:44Look at this one.
30:45Look at them.
30:47Yeah.
30:48What's that?
30:48No license plates.
30:50I have one behind this one.
30:51That is not.
30:52I don't even know what it is.
30:53That is not the Toronto-Bago license plate.
30:55And on top of that, that is not even a helmet.
30:58No, you have one of a...
30:59A hard hat.
31:00A hard hat, yeah.
31:01Right?
31:02When are we...
31:03When is the TTPS going to step in to protect the motorists?
31:08Ms. Husbands, I have stood here on many occasions.
31:12To all the persons in authority that are looking at the program today, those who may look at the rerun
31:19is tomorrow or Monday, Ms. Husbands.
31:21They'll be watching it on Monday.
31:22Those who are looking at the rerun on Monday, those who are looking at the rerun tonight, I have stood
31:26here on many occasions.
31:28To the licensing authority of Trinidad and Tobago, to the TTPS, to all the agencies, the parliament, the cabinet, we
31:37are asking that we start, we commence dialogue and consultation with respect to these scooters so they can be so
31:47regulated.
31:47Trinidad and Tobago, today is the 20th of August, 2026.
31:52It's 6.31.
31:52No one remember Russell here and he's been asking, he's begging today now because I understand and I feel the
32:01pain of the motorist who was driving behind that cyclist.
32:06That's not even a cyclist.
32:09Scooter, right?
32:09I don't know.
32:10We have a caller.
32:11Caller, good evening.
32:13It's just annoying now.
32:14Good evening, dear.
32:16Hi.
32:16Good evening, sir.
32:38Good evening, sir.
33:01I would advise that you all leave for work very early.
33:07Hold on, Ms. Husbands.
33:08I would advise we look at legal notice 671 and 667 of 2026.
33:16Also, in reading the regulations yesterday, I remember the Lady Young will be open for traffic going east.
33:26And it will be only, it will be one way just before Hilton.
33:31So traffic will be allowed to go east but not come around to access the savannah.
33:37So persons may have to, for the period of time, endure one day of inconvenience where they may have to
33:44go over the Lady Young to get back into Port of Spain.
33:47Or they may have to go through Belmont to access other parts of Port of Spain.
33:54Because I believe once you come around there and you're allowed to access, you could probably pass down by the
33:58police station and go through.
34:00You could pass by the police station if you pass by Belmont.
34:02You should be able to.
34:03You have to go through the Lady Young drive.
34:04The Lady Young drive is an option.
34:06And I know some persons, they do go, you know the street I'm talking about, right by the police station.
34:12Of course, which is, that's a one way, right?
34:14Is that one way?
34:15I'm not certain.
34:16No, it's a one way.
34:16As in coming off of the savannah.
34:18Oh, yes.
34:18That comes by the station.
34:19Yes, so I don't know if they were open or not.
34:21Right, so the mayor may not make that concession for persons.
34:24So it's best to stay home.
34:24Well, I'm not saying best to stay home.
34:26I'm saying if you have anywhere to go, you leave early enough that you can reach to your destination safely
34:32and on time.
34:34So if I have work at 6 a.m., I have to leave home at 3 a.m.?
34:40Take the day off.
34:41Take the day off.
34:42So you paid for my day?
34:44I'm going to pay for your day.
34:46All your money nice in the police service now?
34:49No, we're trying to make peace.
34:51Now, listen, with all jokes aside, we have to take a break because when we come back, we have more
34:56to discuss.
34:57And I know that the callers will be ready to call and ask as many questions as need be.
35:01So we'll be back.
35:03All right, guys, today we're going to start a new topic.
35:05And that topic is entitled...
35:19There is no way I could teach in all that noise.
35:22And there is definitely no way we children could learn in that noise of violence.
35:30That is why I support the TCPS school-orienting policing initiative.
35:45This is not just about law enforcement.
35:48It's about building trust.
35:52Parents, teachers, students, and officers all coming together to provide a safe space where young minds can flourish.
36:02If we all stand side by side, we can protect our children, keep them safe, and they can have a
36:11space to learn without anxiety and fear.
36:15Today, I am ready to partner with the TCPS in fostering safe, respectful, and empowered schools across Trinidad and Tobago.
36:26It's not a simple task.
36:28We need parents, students, teachers, and communities to get involved.
36:34It's time to get on board.
36:37Securing our schools.
36:39Securing our future.
37:08Securing our future.
37:11Securing our path to a healthier you.
37:13Pick up a bottle today at Pennywise and all leading pharmacies nationwide.
37:19You can tell from the crowd who's up next.
37:21It's Trinrae's star player.
37:23His world-class stats put him in a league of his own.
37:26Trinrae's risen to become a true force to be reckoned with.
37:30With an unbeaten carry A rating, they boast a strong solvency and A-class service.
37:36Ladies and gentlemen, you're witnessing Trinry's financial and technical strength at its best.
37:43Trinry, premier insurance coverage for less.

38:10It's as easy as that.
38:12So stay tuned to the TV6 News and catch the cold.
38:27And welcome back.
38:29We have a caller on hold caller.
38:30Well, good evening.
38:32Good evening.
38:33Hi.
38:35Good evening caller.
38:38Good evening to you, Sue.
38:40I want to make two contributions this evening.
38:42I suggest that we have to win together.
38:46I would like to see if it is possible that when we're doing the SOE update,
38:54whether there is an increase, we have to put up a plus and 20 increase in brackets.
39:02So I don't know which year yesterday, we increased by 405 or 15.
39:07That is one.
39:09And the other one that is more serious.
39:13I would like to suggest that when we look at the police force that is going to be set up,
39:22that we include three things in it.
39:25We include a WhatsApp number, so of course, we are going to call in and give you a light video
39:35show of what is happening in our own property or even on the road.
39:40That is one.
39:43Also, two, I think I do it from an instance so far, is that 145 we assigned to each.
39:52Yes.
39:52Yes.
39:53I think we should assign a little bit more to much.
39:57And my last point is we are in the day of modern technology.
40:05Mr. Forrest, it's about time we put in a drone operation at those homes.
40:13Or if not, it's not good.
40:15All right.
40:16Thank you so much, caller.
40:18ASB, a lot to dissect there.
40:20Ah, but the caller has some very good ideas.
40:22With respect, we do have a WhatsApp number, but it's just for the general, but I understand what he's saying.
40:31Maybe we should have a phone assigned to each police force just for that situation so that somebody could give
40:39a live something.
40:40Have the WhatsApp number distributed throughout the community so you could actually film somebody doing something.
40:48And you could send it.
40:49Yeah, yeah, yeah.
40:49That's a great idea.
40:50That's a good idea.
40:51And this is what we're talking about.
40:52This is what we're talking about.
40:56Yes, a great idea.
40:56The police cars, I don't understand.
41:00Good luck.
41:00We just lost one.
41:02Well, sorry.
41:03We just lost one.
41:03It's good luck.
41:05No, because it's not cheap one.
41:08It's not.
41:09I'm very serious.
41:10There was a serious cost attached.
41:14We have to have the drivers as well with respect to that.
41:18The question is not any and everyone could drive the police vehicles.
41:23So you could have from class one to six on your personal driver's permit.
41:27Right.
41:28You must have special permission to drive police vehicles.
41:34The driving school.
41:35The driving school.
41:35Yes, we have a driving school that they would come and they would take you.
41:38They would have a course.
41:38They would have a short course.
41:39They would have a long course.
41:41So I want to say good evening to the driving school.
41:44Good evening to the research unit.
41:46Good evening to the police hospital as well.
41:48They are doing plenty of good work behind the scenes and the coastal and air support units, sir, they are
41:58in possession of drones.
41:59We see it for Carnival.
42:00Yes, we see it.
42:01It will be definitely out on Monday.
42:04God's willing.
42:05Come out and watch some of your toys.
42:06The toys just come out on Independence Day, so come on.
42:09But I guess you see anybody else should bring out the toys all the time, invest in more toys.
42:13Mr. Spence, the toys are out there quite often.
42:15There are so many things that goes into crime fighting, not everything we could really come and tell the public,
42:20we have this or we're doing this.
42:22And, you know, for national security reasons and for us to really try to maintain that forerunning position and be
42:31more proactive than reactive.
42:33But we use them quite often.
42:35All right.
42:35We have another caller.
42:37Caller, good evening.
42:40Hello?
42:41Oh, yes.
42:41Good afternoon.
42:42And I want to just say thank you for taking my call.
42:45I just want to say, and for both of you, happy independence.
42:51Thank you, Mike.
42:52Here, too.
42:52Just about 48, that's over 40 dollars.
42:54I want to thank the police service and the men of the Toronto Police and the Commissioner of Police and
43:01all the men of the different force also for you all doing a wonderful job.
43:06I said it this evening, saying that this morning I passed over to the city and it really raised my
43:15phone to see, you know, how you all committed to your task and operating in a very hostile situation.
43:24Very hostile.
43:25I serve for what you say as the Lillipet force.
43:28And I am saying, I salute you all for your own work you are doing.
43:34The police service, I called you all today.
43:36And one of the initiatives that really, really makes me feel good about this convention of police and the men
43:44is the school initiative.
43:46Where you all are bringing some, some, some kind of, you know, safety to the school, you know, but you
43:54all are going to have a very charged political situation.
43:58You do, you ain't do, you know, you will always be criticized.
44:02I want to congratulate you all and hold your head high because you all are doing a wonderful job in
44:10the safety of this country.
44:12And we look forward in saluting you all when you pass and track the truth just outside and walk by
44:19his various partners.
44:20I will be there shouting the praise for the men of the protective services who try and get us for
44:28the best to protect us and guide us through this very terrible last time.
44:34I salute you, senior officer.
44:36I salute you.
44:37God bless.
44:38Thank you, thank you, thank you, caller.
44:40We thank you for your support and to all the public of Trinidad who have supported us over all the
44:46years, you know.
44:48And I thank you for really, really taking that time to call the commissioner of police because many times, you
44:54know, he's always on the receiving end of some negative criticism.
44:58And, you know, I want the commissioner to know that he has the support of the men of Trinidad to
45:03make a police service and the support of the association as well.
45:07The women too.
45:08And, but that's it, the men and women of Trinidad to make a police service.
45:11The men and women of Trinidad to make a police service and that of the association, we continue to work
45:16together to enrich the lives of officers in partnership as well.
45:20We know we have a few issues that we need to fix.
45:22The promotion issue is one of those that we hope that those in authority who are listening can really do
45:28their best to really bring a proper result so that we can move forward with promotion through all the various
45:33ranks in Trinidad to make a police service.
45:35And, you know, we thank the public for that support.
45:38Commissioner of police, I know you will have a hectic weekend.
45:41You have a lot going on and we have your cocktails coming up, but, you know, when the public say
45:46thank you, I have to make sure that you hear and appreciate the thank you from the public because I
45:51know it's no easy job, sir.
45:53Very well said.

53:05We'll be back.
53:15We'll be back.
53:27We'll be back.
53:29I'm going to give Kudos for that.
53:30He has done a great job.
53:32I want to give him Kudos for those police posts.
53:37And I want to correct the post.
53:39Is not no mobile.
53:42Mobile is weed, right?
53:44So I want to big him up for that.
53:46Big him up for that.
53:47We must stop saying police mobile post.
53:52Mobile is weak.
53:53Right?
53:54And Mr. Russell, continue the good work.
53:58Whitney, continue the good work.
54:00Thank you, sir.
54:01My TV on one channel.
54:05Thank you so much, sir.
54:06Well, I need to go in the barracks, yes.
54:08So we appreciate that so much.
54:10I can see the smile on Whitney's face.
54:13We'll have to go to the barracks.
54:14Mr. Osborne, we wanted to be a little closer to us.
54:17We wanted to really understand the intricacies of police.
54:20And I know, you know, the officer, she has been asking to go on a patrol for the longest while.
54:25Yeah, I want to go on a patrol and take the audience with me.
54:28We have to make that happen at some point in time, Mr. Osborne.
54:32Yes.
54:32Or a roadblock, speed trap.
54:35So I will be there for the public.
54:38No problem, Mr. Osborne.
54:39I will definitely sort that out.
54:41Yes.
54:42And very soon we get that done.
54:44Yes.
54:45You need me to go with you?
54:47Or I can send you?
54:47No, you'll have to go with me.
54:49That's important.
54:49We have a caller.
54:50Caller, good evening.
54:52My name is Anthony.
54:54Hi, good evening.
54:55Good evening, sir.
54:57Mr. Osborne.
54:58Yes, sir.
54:58I just hope that two pages, two, seven, this activity, with the other people.
55:07And also, extending the same sentiments to Ismail State.
55:14There are some things, as I reiterate or reiterate, acting is from Hollywood.
55:20And it's time to be acting to be all over because, I don't see your lady if she didn't know
55:23Oscar or no Grammy.
55:26So, come 2K27, I hope it's ASP.
55:30And not too bad, we'll be off your equivalent.
55:32Have a nice evening.
55:33Well said, sir.
55:34Well said, sir.
55:35So, thank you, sir, from your mouth to God's ears.
55:37I agree.
55:38Nothing happens before a time.
55:39I mean, I did complete the entire process.
55:43However, the process is subject to court.
55:47So, it's before the court.
55:49And let it just fall where it may.
55:54I really hope that you get through, though, because it's deserving.
55:57And the only links I give you, it is deserving.
56:00You stand tall.
56:01You believe in your service.
56:03And I appreciate every single time that you come here, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
56:08Yes, every single time.
56:10And I'm sure the public do as well.
56:12Now, school will be reopening right after we celebrate this Independence Weekend.
56:18How are things looking for that?
56:20Well, you know, the TTPS, we are ready.
56:22It's our responsibility to be ready for any eventuality in Trinidad and Tobago.
56:26And the reopening of school is one of those.
56:28I want to commend the TTPS, the Trinidad and Tobago Police, Civil Social and Welfare Association,
56:34for their distribution of school items to the children, to the members of the children.
56:42I want to commend the IETF Hearts and Minds and all the youth clubs that had some sort of book
56:49drive and distribution of school supplies.
56:52Of course, the school-oriented policing initiative will continue.
56:56What we ask the parents is for even a closer bonding and partnering.
57:01We want to see the parents take that responsibility and be active, not just send the child to school, but
57:08be active in the child's life.
57:10You know, check up on them, make sure that you know what is going on.
57:13Come in school and speak to the principal.
57:14Come in school and speak to the teacher.
57:16Let that child know that you care and you will see so much, you know, let the parents and the
57:23relatives show them that we care
57:24so that the gang leaders and gang members wouldn't show them.
57:28They have no opportunity to make them feel that they are loved more by the gang members than their parents.
57:34As this is what I ask of you.
57:36But we stand ready, you know, and we ask persons, you know, take your time on the nation to start
57:41practicing from now
57:41because just now the traffic starts back and we need that patience.
57:46I'm so excited for that.
57:47And we need the responsibility to put aside the children and don't just stop in the middle of the road.
57:51I know you will listen.
57:53I know you will do the right thing.
57:54Now, ASP, thank you so much for being here with us.
57:56I salute you once again, sir.
57:59Happy 64th Independence to you and the TTPS and the Defense Force.
58:03All the services that are out and, of course, persons will be coming out to celebrate.
58:08Please remember your parking and also continue making yourself a hot target.
58:12News is up next.
58:13Happy 64th Independence to you and the TTPS.
58:16We'll see you Tuesday.
58:18We're out.
58:20We're out.
58:23We're out.
58:24We're out.
58:24We're out.
58:24We're out.
58:25We're out.
58:25We're out.
58:26We're out.
58:26We're out.
58:31We're out.
58:34We're out.
58:34We're out.
58:34We're out.
