00:02Welcome to Unlock What's Inside You, Incorporated, our broadcast.
00:08We thank you for being with us here on this episode of Psychological Incarceration Unlocked,
00:15the Proof of Concept.
00:33I am your host, Dr. Doreen Letson, President of Unlock What's Inside You, Incorporated,
00:41Psychological Incarceration Specialist, CEO, and Future Architect of South Carolina Domestic
00:46Abuse Law.
00:47And this is Psychological Incarceration Unlocked, the Proof of Concept podcast.
00:55We gather each week to fulfill a divine mandate, which is to eradicate the systematic psychological
01:02incarceration that has been allowed to fester within our church and within our communities.
01:10This is a personal mission for me.
01:13For the last 27 years, I actually navigated the darkness of this mental prison while sitting
01:20in the church pews and residing right in my community.
01:25And those around me were unaware.
01:28Now I am a voice for the voiceless, speaking to every Christian woman and man with a specific
01:36focus on supporting and addressing the unique needs of Christian women of color who statistically
01:42are the highest percentage unimpacted and affected, who represent the 1%.
01:52I am talking to Christian women in the church pulpit and pew, the judge behind the bench, the
02:00officer behind the badge, the attorney in the classroom, the child development professional,
02:06teaching the next generation, and the business woman in the boardroom.
02:12You are suffering in silence because of the high profile position you hold, but the silence
02:20ends here.
02:21Now it's time to unlock what's inside you through intensive kingdom of God, soul governance through
02:29teaching and training.
02:33Now, in our previous episode, we unlocked how the apostle Paul was urging us to put on the
02:42whole armor of God in Ephesians chapter 6, verse 1.
02:47And we're going to spend some time here in this scripture and really analyze what the apostle
02:52Paul is saying to us in the context of psychological incarceration due to domestic abuse.
02:59Now let's look at this scripture here.
03:01We're going to come from the King James Version.
03:04And we're focusing on Ephesians chapter 6, verse 11, which says, put on the whole armor of
03:15God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
03:24Now, I want to just dissect this scripture very carefully because many of us in the Christian
03:34community have heard this scripture for many times and for many years.
03:41And sometimes we can overlook what the Holy Ghost is speaking to us through the apostle Paul.
03:48Now, remember, the Holy Ghost is the teacher of all things.
03:55And it is important that we acknowledge the Holy Ghost as the teacher of all things.
04:02We have to understand that the word of God is the inspired word of God delivered to all of
04:09humanity through the person of the Holy Ghost.
04:13So the Holy Ghost is not an it.
04:15He is a person.
04:17And his primary job is to teach us the word of God.
04:22The word of God is a person, Jesus Christ.
04:26The Bible calls him the word.
04:28So as we are looking at this, looking at this through the context of the kingdom of God message
04:35through the lens of God himself, through the son, Jesus Christ is extremely important.
04:43Because remember, we've already established previously in episodes that Jesus Christ specifically
04:50said that the spirit of the Lord is upon me to do what?
04:54To set the captive free.
04:57He specifically mentions to open the mental prison as well as proclaiming the liberty,
05:05which is his word that opens the mental prison.
05:09So the correct phrase that we use here on the podcast platform is to proclaim liberty,
05:15opening of the mental prison.
05:18That's what Jesus Christ came to do.
05:20And that's found in Isaiah 61, 1, which also parallels to John chapter 3, verse 18, where
05:30he says that it was for his very purpose, this, it was for this very purpose that I came to
05:40destroy the works of the enemy.
05:44Now, let's move on.
05:46And I want to make sure I am giving the direct specific quote with the correct scripture.
06:07Yes, so it's 1 John 3 and 8.
06:11So 1 John 3 and 8 is where Jesus Christ lays out his very purpose, which is to destroy the
06:18works of the enemy.
06:19And we already know that psychological incarceration is a destructive work of the enemy.
06:27And Jesus Christ himself came to destroy this evil work that we're talking about called
06:33psychological incarceration due to domestic abuse.
06:36Now, let us remember that in our previous episode, the name of that episode was called
06:43The Origin of Evil, and now we're going into part two, The Origin of Evil, part two.
06:50So it's very important for us to understand exactly what Jesus Christ came to do and exactly
06:57what the Holy Ghost is saying through the Apostle Paul, understanding that the Holy Ghost himself
07:04is the teacher of all things, not just religious things, but all things.
07:11And he is the teacher that we are yielding ourselves to now to understand about psychological
07:18incarceration due to domestic abuse.
07:21The Holy Ghost is the very teacher that we are yielding ourselves to to gain knowledge,
07:28understanding, and wisdom, which is applied knowledge of this subject called psychological
07:33incarceration due to domestic abuse.
07:35He's revealing himself to us through the word of God.
07:40Remember, the word himself is a person, Jesus Christ.
07:44So I'm giving you the context of who is teaching, why we are here, and exactly what is being
07:52taught in this context of psychological incarceration due to domestic abuse.
07:57So recap what I'm saying so that it's very clear.
08:02The Apostle Paul talks about here in Ephesians 6, 11, it says, put on the whole armor of God
08:11that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
08:16Now, it's very important, as I have been saying, that we understand who is the teacher.
08:23Ultimately, the teacher is the Holy Ghost.
08:26He was sent into the earth for that very purpose.
08:29One of his purposes is to teach us the word.
08:32Who is the word?
08:34Jesus Christ.
08:35Not just about Jesus Christ, but who he is.
08:39And it is Jesus Christ himself who is the liberator and deliverer and the healer of psychological
08:47incarceration due to domestic abuse.
08:49That is specifically outlined in Isaiah 61, 1, where Jesus Christ is told, the forecoming
08:59of Jesus Christ is told, and then is confirmed by Jesus Christ himself in Luke 4, 18, where
09:06he says, this scripture that I've read in your hearing has now been fulfilled.
09:11The prophet Isaiah foretells us about the liberator, who Jesus Christ is, and what Jesus Christ had
09:19come to do.
09:20It says that the spirit of the Lord is upon Jesus Christ to do what?
09:25To proclaim liberty, opening of the mental prison.
09:29So it's very important that we don't just gloss over these scriptures and just say, oh, I've heard
09:35that before, but we need to pause and understand that we're looking at this through the kingdom
09:41of God lens.
09:42We're looking at this understanding in this context that the Holy Ghost himself is teaching
09:49us about psychological incarceration due to domestic abuse, because he is the teacher
09:54of all things.
09:58Humans facilitate the teaching, which is why we're told to rightly cut and divide the word
10:03of truth, but ultimately it is the Holy Ghost that we must yield to, to understand and receive
10:10teaching about anything.
10:13And in this context, the Holy Ghost himself is teaching us about psychological incarceration
10:19due to domestic abuse.
10:21And many of you under the sound of my voice or viewing haven't thought about it that way.
10:26And that's why I wanted to pause and take this time to help us understand exactly who is
10:32teaching and who is teaching us through the apostle Paul.
10:36As we are reading this, Ephesians 6, 11 gives us the blueprint for the victory that we already
10:44have in and through and by Christ Jesus.
10:47We are not trying to obtain the victory over psychological incarceration due to domestic abuse,
10:53which is why we're going back to the origin of this evil called psychological incarceration
10:58due to domestic abuse.
11:00This is why we went all the way back to the very beginning and saw in Genesis 1, 26, and
11:07also in Genesis 3,
11:09the mandate of God, the outline of God, and where the very beginning of psychological
11:15incarceration due to domestic abuse actually occurred.
11:19Now we're also understanding that we're not trying to obtain victory.
11:25Victory has already been given to us, but it is our God-given right by the authority of the
11:32Lord Jesus Christ that has already given us the victory.
11:36The Bible said he giveth us the victory, and we'll get to that in a moment.
11:41So now let's go back again to Ephesians 6, 11, understanding the context of this scripture
11:49and understanding who exactly is teaching us.
11:52It is by means of the Holy Ghost.
11:54The Holy Ghost is a person, and his primary job is to be the teacher of all things.
12:03He is to be our teacher, and we are forever to posture ourselves to learn,
12:09especially in the context of psychological incarceration due to domestic abuse.
12:14The Bible clearly tells us my people are perishing, and my people perish because of what?
12:20Lack of knowledge.
12:22And the Amplified also goes on to say it beautifully.
12:25It's not because there's the lack of knowledge, because we reject the knowledge.
12:31So let us not reject what the word, Jesus Christ, is the word, is saying to us through the teacher
12:40being the Holy Ghost.
12:42And I want to make sure I'm attempting to word this properly so you can understand the seriousness
12:49of this, that the Holy Ghost himself is the teacher of all things, not just what we think
12:58as religious things.
13:00Many of us just think that the Holy Ghost's job is to teach us biblical things or religious
13:08things, but the Holy Ghost's job is to teach us all things, even from the clinical aspect.
13:15He teaches us the biblical aspect.
13:17He teaches us the kingdom of God.
13:19The Bible says he's the teacher of all things.
13:22And with that being said, let's look specifically, it says to put on the armor.
13:30So the armor of God is made available when we put it on.
13:35In the context of psychological incarceration due to domestic abuse, in many cases, the armor
13:41of God is not on.
13:43It has been dismantled.
13:45We have not, we don't even have it on because we are not even aware that we need it on.
13:53Because we are in this context of this intimate relationship where we feel that we should
13:59be safe.
14:00That is one of the methodologies that Satan uses, even in the context of a Christian marriage.
14:09You believe that this individual goes to church.
14:13He has serving in the pulpit.
14:15He serves in some type of community leadership or church leadership.
14:19So you think automatically you release your guard.
14:23Your whole armor is not on because you feel that this is a place of safety and you are
14:29allowing yourself to be vulnerable.
14:31And in the context of psychological incarceration due to domestic abuse, especially in a marriage
14:38context, that is the most profound place of intimacy that you should feel safe.
14:45And that is one of the methodologies or the wiles of the devil that he uses in the context of
14:52marriage
14:53and in the context of intimate partner relationship, where we feel like, okay, this is a relationship.
15:00I'm going to allow myself to be vulnerable mentally, emotionally, and we should.
15:07But when it comes to Satan taking and perverting that relationship and using it as a weapon against
15:18us, this is why oftentimes it takes so long to realize it because the armor is not on.
15:26And I wanted us to understand that and I'm trying to articulate that.
15:32It's very difficult to articulate it because I'm not saying that we are not to be vulnerable.
15:40If you are in a marriage, being vulnerable is part of your intimacy.
15:44We're not talking about sex.
15:46Sex is mechanical.
15:47That's just the mechanics.
15:49That has nothing to do with intimacy.
15:52Intimacy is the presence of the person.
15:55Even with Jesus Christ, we become intimate with him when we are in his presence, when we
16:00are in his face-to-face, the intimacy with us, our relationship with him, where we get
16:08to know him becomes a level of vulnerability.
16:11The Bible even invites us into the secret place of God where we are bearing all with him.
16:17We are not ashamed.
16:18We are allowing ourselves and our flaws and our sins to be exposed so that we are washed
16:25with the washing of his word and we are in this intimate state.
16:29That's where we're supposed to be.
16:31This is why God himself significantly talks about the marital relationship as parallel to
16:40the relationship with him and his church, with his bride.
16:42So we're not saying that in a marriage context, you're not supposed to be vulnerable.
16:48Of course, you're supposed to be vulnerable and intimate in your marriage, which is the
16:52very reason Satan often uses that and weaponizes that need, that desire against us in these intimate
17:01partner relationships because our guard is down.
17:04We are automatically thinking this is a safe place.
17:08But what happens is Satan takes advantage of that and he uses it against us and weaponizes
17:16that need.
17:17Remember, we said that he was there in the beginning.
17:20So he was watching when God was forming man and going through the creation process and he
17:27was there.
17:28So it's not that he's oblivious to how mankind works.
17:32He was literally a witness and a testament testifying and witnessing what God himself was doing before
17:42humanity even came on the scene.
17:44So he's been around a long time.
17:46The Bible says here, put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against
17:53that word.
17:54Wiles means methodology, the methods.
17:58He has numerous of methods.
18:00He can't create anything new, but he does have a significant amount of arsenal called
18:06methods, his methodology.
18:08And this is why Jesus Christ is saying through the Holy Ghost to us.
18:14He's teaching us through the Holy Ghost.
18:16This is something where we have to put on the armor of God.
18:20It's not any kind of armor.
18:22It's not cardinal armor.
18:23Cardinal armor does us no good.
18:25You have to put on the whole armor of God.
18:28And this is the spiritual armor because you're dealing with principalities and powers and forces
18:34of the dark.
18:35You're not dealing with the human person.
18:37And a lot of us in the marital context, we lose sight of the fact that the realization is
18:46that this man that we believe to be our husband and is our husband is potentially being used
18:55by satanic forces to destroy us.
18:57We're looking at this as my husband, and it's very difficult to wrap your mind around the fact
19:04that this person is actually being used satanically to destroy me and that my marriage is actually
19:12now being weaponized against me.
19:14The vulnerability in my marriage, the intimacy that I desire in my marriage is actually being
19:20weaponized against me.
19:23Now, I'm attempting to teach this by the help of God, and I understand that a lot of this
19:30can be very difficult to understand.
19:35And quite frankly, it can even be confusing, which is one of the methods here again that
19:41Satan uses because he already knows it's going to confuse you because you're not expecting
19:46it because you married this person under the pretense that everything is going to be
19:51fine.
19:52I love this person.
19:54This person loves me.
19:55We're building a life together.
19:57And then for you to come to the realization or even have a suspicion, these red flags that
20:02we're seeing, we dismiss them because we're thinking, this is my husband.
20:08He promised to love me.
20:09He promised to cherish me.
20:10He promised to do X, Y, and Z, and I promised the same.
20:14But in the context of an intimate partner relationship, in the context of a marriage, that's one of
20:21the methods that Satan uses.
20:25And so when we look even at the word here, stand, many of us in the Christian community
20:32have gotten this word misaligned with its true meaning.
20:37We have to understand the true meaning of the word stand here.
20:42It is not to physically just stand there and take abuse.
20:46That's not what this is saying.
20:49It's not a physical posture of just standing and doing nothing.
20:55A passive stance.
20:57And you're allowing satanic forces to just come against you and rush you.
21:02And you just keep standing there.
21:03You stand.
21:04Many of us think, oh, we stand flat footed against the enemy.
21:07We just stand.
21:08And that's a defensive posture.
21:10But we're overlooking the offensive posture.
21:13We have to have the offensive posture and the defensive posture.
21:18And all of this is in the spirit realm.
21:21It's not in the natural realm.
21:23It starts in the spirit realm.
21:25Because remember, you're not actually fighting against a physical person.
21:29You're fighting against the satanic force that that person is yielding themselves to.
21:36That person knowingly or unknowingly is being used by satanic forces to cause harm to you in this intimate partner
21:45relationship, especially in the connotation or the context of a Christian marriage.
21:53The very fact that it's considered a Christian marriage.
21:58It causes you to feel off because you're thinking, well, we're both Christians.
22:03We both do this.
22:04We're both practicing going to church.
22:06We're both doing this.
22:07We're doing that.
22:08And so it throws you off to realize that something is wrong because what you're doing on the outside of
22:14the home and what you're doing on the inside of the home are two different things.
22:18And that is the Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde phenomenon that we often see in the context of a Christian marriage
22:26or even in an intimate partner relationship.
22:30I want to briefly look at the word stand here.
22:33This is very interesting.
22:34When we look at this word stand in the Greek, it means to hold its immovable ground.
22:45So let's think about when this was written.
22:48Remember, Rome was in power.
22:49The empire of Rome dominated basically the whole world.
22:55So this is in the context, the Holy Ghost through the Apostle Paul is painting a vivid picture of a
23:03Roman soldier.
23:04And so it helps us to historically know some things about Rome.
23:08We know that Rome was the dominant force of that day.
23:11The Roman soldier was the very elite soldier.
23:16There was no force that could come against Rome's soldiers and really effectively win over Rome.
23:22That's why they dominated so many territories and they took over.
23:27And Rome was only collapsed from the inside out.
23:32No one could defeat Rome from the out end.
23:35So when we look at the word stand in the Greek, it is actually saying in an immovable ground,
23:45like a Roman soldier defending a conquered position, which inherently requires both a defensive hold against enemy charges
23:56and an offensive push to advance ground and counteract.
24:01And this is the best definition to understand what we are to be doing in the spirit realm.
24:08And it helps us to understand how the kingdom of God works.
24:13This is why Jesus Christ said, you pray, our father, your will be done in the earth because it's his
24:22will for us to take ground in the natural realm.
24:26And for what we know is going on in heaven, the will of heaven, which is righteousness and peace and
24:32joy in the Holy Ghost to come through the into the earth, into our relationships.
24:39And so for that to manifest in the spiritual realm, we have to take the posture of standing.
24:46But that simply means that you are having a defensive posture in the spirit realm, as well as an offensive
24:55power or authority or push in to advance the kingdom of God, to advance the will of God and to
25:03counteract what the enemy is doing.
25:06So in the context of defensive posture of standing, that means that you're holding the line, you're refusing to yield
25:16territory already won by Christ Jesus.
25:20So Jesus Christ already thoroughly defeated Satan.
25:24Every principality, every power is already underneath his feet.
25:28It's been crushed by the cross, the crown and the cloud.
25:34We'll talk about that at another time, but it's important to remember that our posture is a posture of victory
25:43for those of us that are born again.
25:46We are in Christ Jesus and Christ Jesus is seated far above principalities and powers in every dominion.
25:54He is seated in heavenly places and we are seated in Christ.
25:58This is also a method that Satan uses against us because he doesn't want us to know who we are
26:05or our position in Christ, that we are seated far above the methods and the attacks and the principalities of
26:16Satan.
26:17He wants us to have a victim identity and that identity is false.
26:23And this is one of the key, the keys to understand how to unlock what's inside you.
26:29It goes to your very identity.
26:31Jesus Christ has already thoroughly defeated any victimhood and he's given us victory.
26:37We already have a victory now, whether you're what, regardless of your current condition
26:44or current relational status that you may be in, you still have right now the victory.
26:52It's actual perpetual victory.
26:55Jesus Christ said in 1 Corinthians 15, 57, but thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our
27:02Lord Jesus Christ.
27:03In the King James Version, the suffix E-T-H, giveth at the end of a verb denotes the present
27:11continuous tense called the third person singular present indicative,
27:17which simply means it's a perpetual unbroken flow of victory.
27:23He giveth us the victory.
27:25So right now, as a born again believer, because our position and our identity is in Christ and because Christ
27:34is seated above all principalities and powers,
27:37we are coming from and have a positional, not just a positional authority, but we have a heavenly authority far
27:45above what Satan is doing through psychological incarceration due to domestic abuse.
27:50But if we don't know that, if we don't know our identity and how our identity is directly related to
27:57our position in Christ,
27:59then Satan can manipulate us and continue to have, for us to have a victimized mentality or victimized identity.
28:10And as long as we can continue to think of ourselves as a victim and not a victor, then we
28:16won't move.
28:16But the devil is a liar.
28:18And this is why the apostle Paul is saying, through the power of the Holy Ghost, through the inspiration of
28:25the Holy Ghost,
28:26who is the ultimate teacher of the kingdom of God, he is saying, Ephesians 6, 11,
28:31put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles, the methods.
28:38That word wiles means methods, the methodology of the devil.
28:42And to be clear, this word stand is twofold.
28:45It's offensively and defensively.
28:48And here again, when you're thinking of defensively, that you are saying, we're holding, it's an immovable ground, like a
28:58Roman soldier.
28:59He's defending his position.
29:01He's saying, you're saying, you can come no further here.
29:05You're trespassing.
29:06The blood of Jesus, the bloodline has been drawn.
29:09You can come no further.
29:11And simultaneously, the offense is saying, we're going to use our God-given weapons, which is the shield of faith,
29:19lifting us up over all the ceiling of faith,
29:22and using the sword of the spirit to charge against the enemy and come out of psychological incarceration due to
29:30domestic abuse.
29:31How can we do that?
29:32We do that through the power and the authority of the victory that is already given to us,
29:38which is noted here in 1 Corinthians, where it says,
29:44He giveth us the victory.
29:471 Corinthians 15, 57 says,
29:50But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
29:56So this word giveth is a continuous, present tense, ongoing, perpetual victory that you have right now in and through
30:08and by Christ Jesus.
30:091 Corinthians 15, 57 says,
