नेपाल में आई भीषण बाढ़ और लैंडस्लाइड ने भारी तबाही मचाई है। भोटेकोशी नदी के उफान से रसुवा जिले का टिमुरे इलाका मलबे में तब्दील हो गया, जहां बड़ी संख्या में लोगों के मारे जाने और लापता होने की खबर है। इस खौफनाक त्रासदी के बीच 6 साल की एक बच्ची के 72 घंटे बाद मलबे से जिंदा निकलने की घटना ने उम्मीद जगा दी है। नेपाल सशस्त्र पुलिस बल के जवानों ने मलबे के नीचे से बच्ची के रोने की आवाज सुनकर हाथों से खुदाई की और उसे सुरक्षित बाहर निकाला। तीन दिनों तक भूखी-प्यासी रहने के कारण बच्ची की हालत गंभीर थी। खराब मौसम के कारण हेलिकॉप्टर से काठमांडू पहुंचाने में भी देरी हुई, लेकिन बाद में उसे अस्पताल ले जाया गया। यह घटना विनाश के बीच इंसानियत, साहस और जिजीविषा की मिसाल बन गई है।
