00:00There is no Ministry of Science in the United States.
00:01Let's take a look at this today.
00:03Other countries have at least one Ministry of Science.
00:04But in the United States, there is no Ministry of Science among the government departments.
00:07The reason for this is that, instead of having a specific department dedicated to science,
00:09the United States has various departments like the Department of Defense,
00:11the Department of Energy, the National Institutes of Health, and NASA,
00:13each researching and investing in science and technology according to their own objectives.
00:16This is because of the United States' political tradition of favoring smaller governments.
00:19Rather than creating a new science ministry and increasing bureaucracy,
00:22the United States decided it would be more efficient to advance science and technology by letting scientists lead.
00:26That's why there is no Ministry of Science in the U.S.
