00:00The President Trump said this morning that communities that don't want data centers will end up, in his words, as,
00:05quote, backwards and poor, and that the inside data center movement is making China happy. I want to get your
00:10response to that. Do you agree that communities resisting these projects are standing in the way of American prosperity? And
00:17what do you, how do Democrats believe these communities are, what are the legitimate concerns that you heard as you
00:24travel the country about data centers? Or did they come up in your travels? Just kind of level set for
00:29me.
00:29Well, data centers certainly come up, wherever I may be traveling the country, as part of the concern related to
00:37the affordability crisis. Donald Trump and Republicans are divorced from reality. They think that the affordability crisis is a hoax.
00:46Donald Trump and Republicans have made clear they love inflation.
00:50Donald Trump and Republicans have told the American people directly, we don't think about your personal financial situation.
01:02So, the Republicans, it should come as no surprise, are pro data center. Without any restraints, we know this because
01:17in their one big ugly bill, House Republicans voted to preempt state and local authorities
01:28from regulating data centers from regulating data centers at all. And every single House Republican but one or two voted
01:37to unleash data centers on the American people in an unfettered fashion. That's facts right there.
01:48And in that one big ugly bill, all of these very same House Republicans, including people like Mike Lawler and
01:59David Valadeo, all of them voted to give tax credits to people building massive data centers
02:14and communities across. And communities across the country.
02:16And communities across the country, particularly in rural America, without restriction.
02:21They can try to run away from their votes right now. We will not let them hide.
02:27What about Trump comment in response to saying that people who don't want those fairs to make decisions backwards and
02:36forth?
02:37Do you agree with that?
02:38Well, I mean, Donald Trump and Republicans continue to insult their own voters, right?
02:45This is not a partisan issue. Everyday Americans, whether you're in urban America, rural America, suburban America, exurban America,
02:53the heartland of America, small town America or black and brown communities throughout America are concerned about being overrun by
03:03data centers and they want some restraint.
03:09So that they're not overrun by the possibility of their electricity bills continuing to skyrocket and their water bills continuing
03:19to skyrocket.
03:20This is an affordability concern broadly shared by the American people.
03:25And it should come as no surprise that Donald Trump once again is dismissive of this affordability issue.
