00:00Tropical Storm Edouard dumped over 20 inches of rain across this area.
00:05Village Creek is expected to crest tonight over 23 feet.
00:09That's going to lead to more catastrophic flooding, including down in the Honey Island area.
00:13All these flash floods are flowing to the bigger creeks and rivers,
00:17and that's going to continue to proliferate the water rise across this area.
00:22And we had up to 6 inch per hour rainfall rates in the western side of Tropical Storm Edouard
00:28from Beaumont up into this area overnight last night.
00:31That's because of warm rain processes, uniform droplet size out here,
00:35leading to those prolific rainfall rates, and that led to life-threatening flash flooding.
00:40And it is going to get worse tonight, so do not let your guard out as these waters over Highway
00:45287 subside.
00:47That's because the larger creeks and rivers are going to continue to rise,
00:50and this is the worst flooding in this area since 1969.
00:53This is Highway 287 just to the west of Koontz, Texas.
00:58Definitely turn around, don't drown, heed those evacuation orders as well.
