My Georgia Medical Board Complaint VS Dr. James Zimmerman - Refused MRI Analysis After $399 Payment

The State Of Georgia Composite Medical Board refused to examine my complaint VS Georgia-based radiologist James R. Zimmerman (letter enclosed). I was told that because I had the 2021 scan done in Alabama and this was a case of telemedicine, I would have to file my complaint through the Alabama Board Of Medical Examiners and Licensure Commission. Any prospective medical patient interested in the services of this Dr. and practice in Georgia or Alabama needs to be aware of my story.

March 10th, 2021 I had an MRI scan done at EXPRESS MRI located off Highway 280, located in The Village at Lee Branch, 250 Doug Baker Blvd Suite 100, Birmingham (Hoover), AL 35242. This is located near the Greystone subdivision. Their service provides 2 main things for $399. First of all you get a Magnetic Resonance (MRI) scan of the body part of your choice. Secondly, a radiologist (James R. Zimmerman MD) reviews your images for injuries and will give you a typed report containing his professional analysis.

I requested that my head or skull be scanned (I have bone damage in my skull) but "brain" (not what I requested) appeared on my record cd and in the DICOM metadata tags on the image files. The staff may have changed the body part being scanned after determining the true nature of my injury (see EMTALA / PATIENT DUMPING). My experience of 2 years, repeated visits, is that Hospitals and Doctors will misdiagnose my images, ignoring broken bone that shows up, because of the severity of my injury and the relationship to my ability to self pay or provide insurance. I have been a repeated "patient dumping" victim (EMTALA violation). After obtaining the medical records and images later I was able to determine that I have a broken or fractured skull in the area of the occipital condyle / condylar canal and foramen magnum. Because of repeated misdiagnoses, this wound became infected and infested with parasite worms. I almost died from this in 2019 but have slowly recovered in a limited way and have to regularly try and obtain imagery on this area because of the severity. I thought EXPRESS MRI would be a good place to do this but was wrong.

I found EXPRESS MRI operates under a very strict set of parameters and they are not willing to bend much to accommodate the individual needs of customers. MRI technician Matt Warren was the only person I saw or interacted with in the 280 facility during my hour long appointment. I had special needs as per my head injury and requested head and neck support (I had to lay back in this machine for 30 minutes and my neck drooped back below the flat horizontal plane of the rest of my body). Matt Warren told me there was nothing he could offer but produced a few pieces of thin foam which made it impossible to slide a required helmet over. He told me if I couldn't accommodate ​their procedure they could not do the scan.
