I have contacted The Alabama Board Of Medical Examiners & Licensure Commission Regarding Concerns I faced as a patient dealing with American Family Care Urgent Care staff & management using Pseudonyms, false names, nicknames, singular names:

I found AFC American Family Care Urgent Care staff uses Pseudonyms / nicknames / single names in their clinics. "Sadler" who claimed to be the office manager of Cahaba Village clinic refused to give me his first and last name (red flag / scam alert). The websites of this clinic do not mention who their staff and doctors are. Birmingham, AL.

After 1 month of trying to call American Family Care (AFC) urgent care in Birmingham, Alabama, I am told by office manager "Sadler" of Cahaba Village (near Mountain Brook), Birmingham, Alabama that there is nothing they will do to correct a misdiagnosed 2019 X-Ray I had taken. Sadler would not give me his name (he deals with the public every day) or say who he spoke to in the company about my issue.

Dr. Blake Thomas MD's name appears as supervisor to nurse Kimberly Kelly on the top of records I received from a 2019 American Family Care, Birmingham, AL. visit in 2019 (I was a patient). I tried to call him about my misdiagnosed X-Ray, in which Dr. Ana Maria Echenique M.D. recorded no injuries present therein. I knew this was in error. When I got the images I found evidence of broken skull bone and head trauma, CSF fluid and parasites filled this wound. Appears in these X-Ray images as 3 inch diameter translucent oval between skull and cervical areas.

This video focuses on American Family Care (afc Parkway) and Doctors Ana Maria Echenique M.D. (Experity Teleradiology). I received an X-ray here that was misdiagnosed and referred onward to a neurologist (Kyle Hudgens / Grandview Neurology) and orthopedic doctor (Perry L. Savage Sr. / OrthoAlabama Spine & Sports) (but was told the x-ray showed normal, no injuries) that led to referrals to doctors who would not acknowledge my injury and a $600 fee. At the same time I was chasing my tail on this thing, I was dying from a massive infection and parasite infestation the doctors were telling me was not there.

I believe I may have been "patient dumped" (a violation of EMTALA in hospitals) in the course of my seeking treatment for my injury. This pronouncement made it virtually impossible to get an accurate diagnosis elsewhere. I was also disabled and could not claim disability. My psychological state was routinely challenged because I claimed the doctors had missed the main injury. My concerns were unfairly dismissed and ignored.

00:00Alright, so this week I forwarded concerns regarding my experience dealing with American Family Care Urgent Care, that's AFC, in
00:11Birmingham, Alabama.
00:15I was a patient there in 2019, I had an x-ray taken.
00:19This was subcontracted, the reading, to Dr. Anna Maria Egnick, MDD-ABR, through Xperity.
00:31This was a telemedicine situation.
00:36The clinic where I had the x-ray taken physically, this was Parkway East, Roebuck, Birmingham, Alabama.
00:47I found out later on that I had broken the underside of my skull.
00:52I obtained my x-ray images and records from this $175 visit with American Family Care.
01:02In the x-ray picture, which Anna Maria Egnick, MDD-ABR, told me in this report that no injuries appeared,
01:16I'll put the pictures up here, and you can see there's a 3-inch diameter translucent oval, an anomaly.
01:25And this is the result of the underside of my skull being broken,
01:31and the infection and subsequent parasite worms and insects that grew in this area.
01:40When I tried to have this issue addressed by Xperity, they were unresponsive, very difficult to deal with.
01:49They made obligations to me to return phone calls, to have management call me.
01:53My phone calls were never returned.
01:55They had me give permission to access these archival x-ray images via AFC
02:05with the express understanding that this x-ray was going to be re-read and this error corrected
02:11because this is an extant error, and this is not what I paid for.
02:16So after I gave permission to Xperity to get the records from AFC a few days later,
02:22I found out by calling Xperity that they were not going to help me in addressing this error
02:31and having this x-ray re-examined.
02:34This is a huge problem.
02:39If you're a patient with serious injuries, you pay money,
02:43and you put your faith and trust in these medical practices, all right?
02:49And there are doctors and nurses associated with this.
02:54Dr. Blake Thomas, M.D.
02:57His name appears as the supervisor to the nurse that I saw in Birmingham, Kimberly Kelly.
03:07So I tried to call Dr. Blake Thomas.
03:10His location is the Cahaba Village, American Family Care Urgent Care, Birmingham, Alabama,
03:17up there on Highway 280.
03:19When I called this office, I called five days in a row.
03:27The first couple days, I talked to the office staff.
03:31They were cheerful, communicative.
03:34They told me that, yeah, they'd have the doctor call me day after day after day.
03:40The doctor never called me.
03:44And eventually, on Friday, I was hung up on by this office.
03:48I spoke with the office manager.
03:51And this is when I found out that American Family Care Urgent Care,
03:55their office staff, they all use nicknames, singular names, pseudonyms, and fake names.
04:04And this is not acceptable.
04:06If you're a patient going to health professionals to seek treatment and you're paying hundreds of dollars,
04:14this is not acceptable business practice.
04:16And if this is the direction that America and health care in Alabama is going,
04:21we are in big trouble.
04:22And that goes for anybody that has injuries and pays money to doctors and nurses to have these issues looked
04:30at.
04:31The office manager of a doctor's office, this location that I'm talking about,
04:37he goes by a singular name.
04:39That's Sadler, all right?
04:40In fact, the other AFC locations, they only know the manager of this location by this single name, okay?
04:53And that's a huge problem.
04:55I mean, how do they even know who they're dealing with?
04:57And see, what happens is, like in my case, you're a patient, you go in there and you have problems.
05:05When you go back into these places trying to get these problems addressed and resolved,
05:11you're dealing with people with fake names, guess what?
05:14They can come back and say that nobody by that name works there.
05:17And you've got absolutely nothing to go by.
05:20They got your money.
05:21You don't have anything.
05:22And that's what happened to me.
05:24This is unacceptable.
05:27I got this guy, Sadler.
05:29I got all of my calls and exchanges with American Family Care.
05:37They are recorded.
05:39And they can be listened to on my YouTube channel, My Medical Nightmare.
05:44You can hear exactly how they handle themselves, how they conduct business in the wrong way.
05:51This is America in 2022.
05:53It is unrecognizable from when I was a child in the 1980s, okay?
06:00In the 1980s, places like American Family Care and Xperity, you'd hear about these stories operating somewhere like in Nigeria,
06:09in Africa or somewhere, or in a communist country or something like that.
06:14This is going on in Birmingham, Alabama today.
06:18And this has got to be addressed.
06:20This has got to be stopped.
06:26This office manager of this doctor's location where this Dr. Blake Thomas, M.D., operates,
06:33he told me he would not give me his first and last name, okay?
06:37So who is this guy?
06:39We don't know.
06:39These concerns I have sent to the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners and Licensure Commission this week.
06:49So they are aware of my experience with American Family Care, Urgent Care, AFC, and Birmingham, Alabama.
06:57They know about this place now.
06:59And I'm doing this video to let everybody else know.
07:02And this needs to be remedied.
