00:04Around 230 people were evacuated overnight from the Croatian island of
00:09Prague after a large wildfire spread across about 3500 hectares of pine
00:15forest and scrubland. Strong winds pushed the flames which have been burning for
00:21several days towards homes in the western part of the island. In this
00:26scenario around 200 firefighters and four aircraft were deployed to tackle the
00:30blaze. Officials stated that no one had suffered serious injuries although some
00:36people had inhaled smoke. The cause of the fire remained unknown. However, Croatian
00:42authorities said the country has been hit by a string of major wildfires this
00:48summer amid unusually hot and dry weather.
