03-08-2022 को ज़िला शामली के कलेक्ट्रेट पर भारतीय किसान यूनियन ने गन्ना भुगतान सहित अपनी विभिन्न मांगो को लेकर किया विरोध प्रदर्शन। किसानों का कहना हैं कि इस बार हम शामली मील को अपना गन्ना नहीं देगें। इस विरोध प्रदर्शन में ज़िला शामली के किसान आए हुए थे, लेकिन बाद में शामली डीएम ने किसानों को समझाकर धरना समाप्त करवा दिया।

On August 3, 2022, in Shamli district of UP, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) organised a protest demonstration to raise their demands of outstanding payment of sugarcane dues among other issues. The farmers said that this time, they will not be selling their sugarcane to Shamli Mill. Several farmers actively participated in the demonstrations, but the District Magistrate of Shamli soon asked them to end the protest.
