00:18I got to tell you, our game's getting ready.
00:20And I'm watching that Buffalo game.
00:22It's like the last game that we're watching.
00:25Yeah.
00:26How good was that?
00:26Hold off the kickoff.

00:32This is, it's just, it's a Buffalo Bills game, right?
00:35Isn't that the way they live and die?
00:37I mean, it's the same team.
00:38How far can it go again with, anyway, go ahead.

00:42Well, I was going to hit you with that one.
00:44And Josh Allen carving up a defense that was supposed to be one of the best in the NFL,
00:50not the best.
00:51He hits that late touchdown pass, 334 yards, a couple of touchdowns.
00:56And he was fantastic in that one, Joe.
01:00He, yeah, man.
01:01He put together, like, I saw the throw that he makes it at the end of the game.
01:07And, you know, but he's just got so much physical talent.
01:11So he doesn't worry about that small window in the middle of the field and throwing that.
01:15And, by the way, even if it did get intercepted, he'd just go, it's my fault, but we'll be fine.
01:21And runs for two, throws for two.
01:25It was incredible.
01:26And they chewed up enough time at the end of the game and got a big play from Gregory Russo
01:33at the end of the game, right?
01:34Strip fumble ends the game for the Texans who had a chance still to come back down.
01:40And, man, it just looked like, that was like half the Buffalo Bill games, wasn't it, last year?
01:45When you watch the Buffalo Bills, it's like, okay, another shootout.
01:49Can they win here at the end?
01:50And playoffs, too.
01:52So it was a wild first win for the Buffalo Bills.
01:57Joe, I hope you were able to catch some of the college action out there on Saturday.
02:01I mean, what a crazy day.
02:02You know, Michigan, after basically losing to Western Michigan the week before, they needed that extra play.
02:08They go out there and they beat Oklahoma.
02:11Oregon, who's a complete fraud, lost to Oklahoma State, who hadn't beaten a Power 4 opponent in over two years
02:19at that time.
02:19And then in the evening, I guess it was afternoon for you out there, you had Texas pull off that
02:25big comeback.
02:25I had written Texas off for dead when they were down 23-3, and they pull off one of the
02:31biggest fourth quarter comebacks in history, biggest ever against the number one team.
02:35What did you make of all that?
02:38Incredible.
02:39Let's just start that Ohio State game.
02:41I'm with you.
02:42Ohio State's up on Texas.
02:45I want to say it was 20-3, and I was like, it's over.
02:50They're done.
02:51Manning, and we're sitting around a bunch of guys going, you know, and it always goes back to Archie.
02:55Manning, like, man, you're like, I keep hearing about it.
02:59He's the number one pick.
03:00When am I going to see it, man, and the Manning stuff?
03:03And, you know, and we do that, right?
03:05We do it with this guy because, you know, constantly national media is making him the first overall pick again
03:12this year.
03:12And you're like, okay, but I got to see something.
03:16I mean, he's got plenty of talent, and I just don't see it.
03:19And they find a way to come back in that game.
03:22And Ohio State has just been so good and so consistent for years now.
03:27You just expect when they're up 20-3.
03:30And I know they lost a bunch of guys defensively, but you also know they got a bunch of four
03:34- and five-star guys been waiting their turn in the transfer portal.
03:38And they just collapsed.
03:40It was just an incredible comeback.
03:42I think everybody was at a restaurant, and it was just like everybody was in shock.
03:49But that's what makes college football, and football is such a great game, man.
03:53Just when you think they're out and it goes right down to the wire, and they come all the way
03:57back and win it.
03:59Yeah, great Saturday at games there.
04:01Caines will be on the road on Friday to take on Wake Forest.
04:05Just to bring it back to the NFL here, Joe, it looks like you've got three teams that are going
04:09to be in the fight at the bottom.
04:11We've got to start off the show talking about this.
04:13Tennessee was horrific.
04:15And I don't know that anybody was worse than the Massage King and the Browns.
04:19They were awful.
04:23Well, so they're bad.
04:26We obviously got a long way to go.
04:28We're right there in that category, as you said.
04:29But, you know, and it's saving grace for the Dolphins, and they're going to try to preach.
04:33By the way, it's a tough PR sale, too.
04:36When you see that product, and you know what the Raiders, I don't feel any differently about the Raiders than
04:41I did before.
04:42I know they were jacked up, and I would be, too, you know, about their chances.
04:47And, you know, one guy's given me a hard time yesterday as I'm leaving.
04:51And I said, hey, man, what conference, what division, do you guys play it?
04:54And I go, okay, we'll see.
04:56Tell me how many games they're going to win.
04:59And they weren't very nice to you out there?
05:01They were trash-talking you as you were leaving?
05:03Well, they were jacked up, man.
05:05Lookit, they felt like, you know, they got a good win and the whole thing.
05:11And I said, all right, well, we'll see.
05:13But, yeah, those are rough ones.
05:16And what's going on in Cleveland and the shows before.
05:20I got up in the morning, obviously.
05:21Loved to watch the NFL first week at kickoff.
05:25And they're just, they're like, I don't know.
05:27So, I think it was Rex Ryan goes, I don't know how you start.
05:30I don't know how you start this guy.
05:31How do you do that?
05:32How do you start him?
05:34I mean, he was killing him.
05:35You know, I got nothing against this coach.
05:36But, well, what are you doing?
05:38And then he goes out.
05:39And I think he throws a pick on the first drive.
05:41And you're like, oh, my God.
05:43He was so bad.
05:44He patted his stats late in the game.
05:46He was really bad.
05:49Well, he's just because of everything that's happened, mostly off the field.
05:53And he's been injured.
05:54And he's made.
05:55And, look, they were all killed.
05:57He's got a $230 million guaranteed contract.
05:59Don't feel badly for him.
06:01Yeah.
06:01But, and I think his lack of awareness on that one press conference is completely, if you
06:08had anything in your heart left of, like, I'm going to give this guy a second chance,
06:12it just kind of went out the door when he didn't take any responsibility for anything.
06:18And, yeah, I don't know how they stick with him.
06:19I really don't.
06:21And there's going to, Shador Sanders, it's going to get louder and louder for him to play.
06:28You know, Joe, going back to Malik Willis, how difficult is it going to be to truly evaluate
06:35him this year, given the team around him?
06:38Because, you know, and I know I'm looking way ahead, but I think the Dolphins may have
06:43a pretty high draft pick this year, Joe.
06:45So, it's like, how are we going to know whether they should maybe be stalking somebody in an
06:51early round next year?
06:53No, I, this was everybody's concern, and this is what everybody's talked about is, okay,
07:00for those of you, and listen, Malik knows, Malik Willis knows that he's got a chance
07:05to be the quarterback, but he also knows what he's got around him.
07:09And, you know, he's been told and coached up, you got to be patient with the guys you're
07:13playing with, you're playing, he played with three rookie wide receivers yesterday,
07:18because Kevin Coleman was in there, you know, and he was struggling to get open.
07:22This was not preseason, this was guys bump and run, you're going to run a takeoff, I'm
07:28going to run with you down the sideline, and I'm going to squeeze you against the sideline,
07:32it's going to be an impossible throw for your quarterback to make, and you're not very
07:35tall.
07:37So, he's going to have to be patient, but Donald, it is a great call, and I can't answer
07:43it, because I've said it over and over, the same thing you just asked me, is he going
07:48to have enough around him for us to evaluate how good he is?
07:52I thought tight ends were going to have a bigger role yesterday, I really did.
07:55I thought the pass rush was going to get there, and I thought he'll get rid of it, he tried
07:59to buy time, you know, he's so athletic back there, and he believes he can get away from
08:03anybody, and he had some guys run him down yesterday, but that's a great question going
08:08forward.
08:10Our receivers got to get open, still not a good enough job, and this is what happens with
08:15young receivers.
08:15They just take off and run, and when they did that in college, and they just run across
08:20the field, they'd be open by two steps.
08:23Well, that doesn't happen in the NFL.
08:25You've got to set guys up.
08:27You've got to set them up on the pass tree, and stutter and go, and in and out, and the
08:34whole thing, and our guys will learn, but Malik's the one everybody's talking about, and he
08:39also, and we all know there's seven or eight quarterbacks out there that everybody's going
08:43to talk about all year, it just really comes down to your favorite guy, including the guy
08:50in our backyard at the University of Miami.
08:52I've already heard it, like, man, you see how good he looks, and all those things he can
08:57do, and how accurate he is.
08:59So, it's going to be around.
09:01It's not going to leave.
09:03It's going to be, you know, probably the number one topic that we have every week.
09:07He played really well in the first half.
09:09I thought he was real good, and then second half, he threw the ball.
09:14I mean, bad throw down the middle of the field he can't make.
09:17Safety's sitting in the middle, playing center field, and then he threw in, and a couple
09:23of his guys were double covered, and he just, you know, you can't make that throw, and he
09:29was trying everything, and I know everybody's going to talk about it, but is he going to
09:33have enough around him to show whether he's a franchise quarterback or not?
09:39You see how athletic he is.
09:41You don't have to sell anybody.
09:42He made that run for the touchdown.
09:45I mean, that was, you know, we haven't seen that in years, right?
09:49And maybe we've never seen that out of a quarterback here, to be honest, just going back a guy and
09:54then run the guy over in the last two yards because he's so big to get in the end zone.
09:58So, but you still need some help.
10:00You need help, and that's going to be a great question down the road because, you know, people
10:07say, hey, he didn't throw a touchdown.
10:08He threw a pick.
10:10You know, it's going to get louder and louder about whoever your favorite quarterback is
10:14from coast to coast.
10:15I think we'll end it on this one, Joe.
10:17We got a text in the 561 that says it's really bad when company Joe is this down.
10:24Yeah.
10:25It's hard, man.
10:26Yeah.
10:26So, I don't want to say who told me this, but they were like, you know, we knew, and
10:35they've been telling us, and we see it in practice, and you're going, man, I just, it
10:41practice is one thing, playing games, and it's just different no matter who you're playing
10:46in the NFL.
10:47Nobody else is going to have a roster that looks like yours, and you're going, but, you
10:52know, and I found myself before the game, and you guys weren't around, but I was going,
10:55well, if we play a clean game, and we can get this, and if that, and we can do this,
11:04and
11:04if this guy plays like I think, and, you know, and then you just get hit with reality of where
11:09you are after the game's over.
11:12It's just, yeah, you're a little down, and then, you know, this next day for me, I've
11:16been very open about this through the years, is not my best day to ask me about the Miami
11:21Dolphins a day after a game.
11:23Probably in recent years, most Mondays is not the best time to ask me about, you know.
11:32Yeah, I know.
11:33I thought what every other fan, every comment you're getting about this guy, this and that,
11:38man, I get it, man.
11:40Why don't you have, why don't you have Jimmy pick you out a nice bottle of wine, and relax
11:45and enjoy the day, and, you know, maybe.
11:47I got to tell you, I got in the hotel last night with Jimmy, and we look at each other,
11:55and he goes, all he said to me, he goes, double tequila?
11:59And I go, yes.
12:01And the guy goes, you got about 10 minutes.
12:04It was about 10 minutes we're going to close, but they said they'd stay open.
12:06They saw you guys, and you seem a little down.

12:13They're sipping on frigging wine everywhere, and it's that trip the husband and wife want
12:18to take together.
12:19All those nice wine-tasting trips, a little cheese, and all these beautiful high-end restaurants

12:25I'm picturing you and Bo, like, you know, together going through a vineyard, and you're picking
12:30the grapes, and then you're going to smash them with your giant feet and make your own
12:34wine.
12:35I'm just picturing that.
12:36I think you guys could have a nice little day out together.
12:38I got to tell you, you're going to be surprised, though, because I am going to do one of those
12:43this week with other people.
