00:01well happy monday morning and a happy yom kippur to uh to our friends that are celebrating the
00:07jewish holiday today as uh dave hides with us all day dandy woody's got the day off with his family
00:14good move by woody you always find out when people don't take off i've worked with some
00:19guys that did take off some of the holidays religious holidays and because i've worked
00:26with some guys aren't real religious a lot matter of fact a lot of people in our business don't seem
00:30to be you know going to temples and churches uh all the time so anyway and and i told woody
00:39and i
00:39were talking i said hey man you you need your it's a good call we were talking while i was
00:45in
00:45california i said yeah you need to by the way just got in dave hides with us all day dandy
00:50thank you
00:52brothers you buried the lead joe you just got in you you flew all the way back from the west
00:57coast
00:57and what time did you land the give us the itinerary uh two two something two something two
01:05two i don't know maybe i got home at three i went did you get an hour sleep or no
01:11no no no sleep
01:13no and i stood up and i was talking to the guys in the back and talking about all kinds
01:19of stuff and
01:19trip goes a lot faster i'm in the back yapping instead of i couldn't sleep no you don't sleep
01:24on plane i do but last night i could not i don't know why and i gotta tell you man
01:31and i go through
01:32this and i've made it clear like you know yesterday you saw what happened and dolphins look really good
01:38offensively in the first half and actually time of possession and yards and and they're knocking
01:44them off the ball a little bit and you're going man okay now you got to keep it going and
01:49then
01:49the third quarter you know 21 points and and uh couldn't stop them couldn't get a first down
01:56and the frustrating part and it's only one thing because i because i stepped back i can't all of a
02:03sudden do it some people are doing this reaction of shock that they lost that game including family
02:10members uh that they lost 35 to 13 and and dave uh i go what what didn't you what what
02:19would you
02:20expect did i i'm not sure what you you got i mean i look at who's shocked who was shocked
02:26the players i
02:27okay i appreciate the players some of the some of the art some of the articles are are you know
02:32like
02:32you know like they're really bad right now and i go yeah there there's there's some there it's not
02:39like they're a bunch of old guys that are struggling at the end of their careers but yeah there's a
02:43lot
02:43of young guys still lost you saw a lot of mental mistakes you saw you saw you that third quarter
02:49um i'll be honest and and it's going to be part of the growing pains there are a lot of
02:54guys wide
02:54open i was never that open when i ran a great route let alone just ran down the field by
02:59the way they
02:59had receivers running into each other i was going to say that the 49ers were running wrong pattern
03:05somebody was because they were right next to each other and it's like one receiver let the ball go
03:11through his through to another a second receiver because the all pro fullback started to jump for
03:18it yes and behind him was the all pro tight end no no wide receiver haven't jumped up and i
03:24i assume
03:25this the the receivers you know no i got it i got it let it go you know okay it
03:30was just two guys
03:31standing next to each other no defenders was my point and i'm guessing you know it's like uh and
03:38i see the frustration even with the coaches you know and like nobody likes this listen after the game
03:43i i was like and i was sitting there with our with our guys i go i know i know
03:49this i knew this was
03:50coming but it's i i just i hate losing i just hate losing and the mental mistakes the play action
04:01the
04:01bootleg fakes like like they've never seen him not only was it a bootleg to roll out he ran down
04:07the
04:08sideline before somebody knocked him out like 18 yard gain he was looking like lamar jackson
04:13pretty out there running so there was just some of that stuff a lot of it can be cleaned up

04:20there is some stuff we're going to be talking about this morning we're going to get into
04:23uh special teams just not acceptable not acceptable punt punter drops the ball never seen that before
04:31that was it's been you know by then it was like the 62 mets you know you almost had to
04:36laugh like oh my
04:37god what i've never seen that well you're you're looking for special teams to flip in that situation
04:43flip field position let one rip uh get them back down at the other the other end you know
04:49get great coverage and you drop it and now they got great field position on a team that
04:55we couldn't stop anyway and you can't have that and then you miss a field goal after a long drive
05:01we've seen that now two weeks in a row that can't continue and by the way you know he only
05:08missed two
05:08field goals all of last year he was really good and now he's missed two in two games and again
05:14i'm not
05:15picking on individuals these are just facts and and you don't have the most talented roster
05:20it's green um it there there are going to be some guys end up being a matter of fact i
05:26can almost tell
05:27you i think he's gonna be the best player when this is all said and done early on and i
05:31think it's
05:32gonna be our first overall pick i think he is going to be really good he's got some work to
05:36do footwork
05:37wise but he's a physical dude he knocks guys down every game um but there were some guys yesterday
05:43that didn't really take a step forward now they played against a better team uh in the 49ers who
05:49by the way that team is built to win right now i hope to get to that situation someday a
05:56team that
05:57is built across the board on both sides you know you you look at their roster by the way we

06:09to him um but they got guys they they could have three or four hall of famers on that team

06:23mccaffrey is going to be close i think there's only three guys with 50 touchdowns on three teams
06:29randy moss so so you think he is yeah i think he is um but but they've got some some

06:37good players you know i i looked at uh mike evans yeah mike evans mike evans going to be in

06:43at the he's at the end of the line but i tell you what he's still he's producing you know
06:48he's still
06:49making some pretty by the way trent williams the slam dunk yeah trent williams for by the way first
06:53ballot you he's 38 years old and he's still we could i mean you want to talk we're going to

07:01in that was that was an easy game for trent williams say the dolphins don't have a pass don't have
07:05a
07:05pass rush nobody you can rush six you can rush five you can rush four nobody can beat another guy

07:12on one unless we run a game which we haven't run even run games to have a lot of success

07:19it's it's really and there's just that is not mental mistakes that is just one-on-one we don't
07:27have that special guy on that team which you know again if you're looking ahead and i don't want to
07:33look ahead after two weeks and the quarterback thing certainly don't want to look ahead because
07:37the schedule jeremiah smith no no we're we're we're some win on that schedule you know what it is you
07:43know the bizarre office going in this season it was the jets right well the jets look respectable okay
07:51they look like the jets because the coach is just making blunders at the end but they're the jets
07:56the chargers might be the easiest game on the schedule right now how about that um yeah we got we'll
08:03we'll
08:03get around the national football league uh this morning got a lot of time for the show here four hours
08:07but
08:07yeah uh mike mcdaniel of course everybody because he's yaps so much and his personality espn can't
08:14can't get enough of him every time he talks he's only he's only offensive coordinator in the league
08:19that makes national tv because he and his head coach are they're a little bit out there both of them
08:24right and so and harbaugh kinds of turns it over to his guy mike and he's cool and he can
08:30be real cool
08:31if he keeps scoring 14 points a game lots of the raiders they looked awful against the raiders now the
08:36that was a bit of an upset yes i don't know what and they played the cardinals in the first
08:41game who
08:41were with the dolphins expected to be the the raiders the dolphins and the cardinals are expected
08:46they're right they're all at the bottom depending we're by ourselves right now yeah the dolphins are
08:51by themselves we're by ourselves well cleveland might be with you but at least at least you know
08:55what at least cleveland's been competitive in the games they've been cleveland well this week they
09:00were competitive they got they got a win against tampa bay did they beat tampa bay yesterday oh yes
09:05yes they did beat tampa bay oh you know i quit i quit watching those games when uh the dolphin
09:12game
09:12started i gotta be honest with you there were a bunch of great games they're a bunch of great
09:16yeah the dolphins by themselves the chargers i chargers might be the second worst team through two
09:21weeks so so yeah it's uh crazy it's uh it's not nobody's close to the dolphins come on let you're
09:30you're right joe yeah no it's fine but there's been no surprise to the dolphin season to me so far
09:36no no pass rush the green on the on the secondary stuff and i'm going okay i yeah whatever you
09:43want
09:43to write in today and you know and and i heard frustration a lot dolphin fans show up at the
09:48games
09:48and and they come out and they're all painted up and um this is this is where it is man
09:55i and i hate
09:56i'm not going through the whole dead money thing and it's like it gets tired it's like you need a
10:02surgeon general's warning label watching a dolphin game though dead cap money youngest roster well jimmy
10:09brought jimmy brought it up yesterday because you know you're you're sitting there with some timeouts
10:13and injury timeouts and they go hey you guys got extra time to talk and and you're going in the
10:17whole
10:18thing to try to explain it and and then it's like all right who who played well today and you're
10:23going um uh for the first half because first half stats look look good they actually outplayed
10:31them but saying that you have a long drive so the 49ers only get the ball twice in the first
10:36half
10:36which is amazing they're only five possessions crazy that was long drives both ways and dolphins
10:41were 0-2 in the red zone missed a field goal but but they got two field goals they moved
10:46the ball
10:47they moved it they showed they showed the offensive line and the running game showed
10:52that's how they have to play to stay in games right and willis made some plays uh and listen we
10:59we got a
10:59nice little running game going in the first half really really did and got got a chan going but now
11:06you got to get the passing games got to be part of this too and um we we got to
11:12keep that thing going
11:12anyway i thought malik washington had a nice game and and mason my hand and returning returning punch
