03:58highlights, again, these three different plays steps up and gets a guy,
04:01one guy gets low and just cartwheels him, is Ty Johnson's a free agent at the end
04:06of the year.
04:06And this part of Gore's game looks like it's progressing.
04:10So there's a way to earn trust there for a guy that's, you know, a practice squad call-up.
04:16I mean, if he can do that stuff well, he'll get opportunities to do everything else.
04:22TV highlighted at least one where he was basically, I think it was Allen,
04:26he was leading through the hole on a sweep and took out a linebacker.

05:29So I just wanted to say that I'm pleasantly surprised with the play calling from Joe Brady.
05:35I remember last year, I even called in on it a couple times.
05:38I was disappointed last year in the default run on first down and the lack of downfield
05:47play calling.
05:48Yet, here we are two games in, and it seems like Joe Brady has a whole new plan, and they're
05:54using the whole field, and I'm just really pleased with that.

06:02I think week one on Sunday was really exciting for this.
06:08I think last night was exciting, but there's a balance here between, okay, you're playing
06:14on Thursday, and that's a quick turnaround.

06:23over the course of the season.
06:24But I think Detroit was really down bad on defense.
06:27So I think really it came pretty easy to them last night, not to take, doesn't, scoreboard
06:33is a scoreboard, doesn't take it away from them.
06:35But I think what they did in Houston, I'm really interested to see what Cincinnati does
06:40against Houston.
06:41Me too.
06:41Because if Cincinnati struggles on offense, then maybe the Bills did an amazing thing in
06:47that game.
06:48Or maybe just, you know, it's defense and every year is different, and I don't know.
06:53But there is definitely, I mean, the players are talking about it, you know, to us, to
06:59the national media, whatever, that, you know, they were expecting more, you know, Brady to
07:06lean into, you know, Allen, the passing game, downfield, all that stuff.
07:11Just, it's a different leader at the top of the, you know, at the top of the organization
07:16right now, as far as like the football game day operation goes.
07:20And so you're, you're definitely seeing that and they, but they also have a healthy Kincaid
07:27that can play the amount he's playing.
07:30And they also have DJ Moore, at least for a half of this game and for the full game in
07:35Houston.
07:35And I think most, you know, objective observers agree that that has opened things up for other
07:42guys.
07:43And I, and I did think, and I did not hear Brady asked about this.
07:47I don't know.
07:48He probably wouldn't give you a full answer on it anyway.
07:52If it got harder to do everything they want to do after Moore left the game, it felt to
07:58me that that was the case watching it.
08:00But you know, it's very also possible that they could have gone and had to punt a couple
08:05times in the second half if Moore had been on the field.
08:07But, uh, it's just to say, it's not all, I don't think it's all, I think McDermott not
08:14being there anymore.
08:15The fact that the players are talking about it makes me want to respect it as a narrative,
08:19but they've also up, they've got a healthy, they don't have Kincaid on a, on a load management
08:25schedule anymore.
08:26So they can play their three tight ends and he's blocking.
08:29And that just avails them of more of the playbook when he's on the field.
08:33And he's a very potent, dangerous weapon when he is, and Moore is someone they haven't had
08:39since they traded Diggs, like that caliber of receiver, whether he's in the top 15 or
08:4420 in the league or whatever, leave that over there.
08:47He's a better player at the position than they've had since Diggs was in his prime.
08:52And that is also, you know, a reason why Brady can feel like, okay, you want to play man on
08:58us?
08:59All right, we're just going to, we're just going to beat your pants off.
09:01I got guys that can do it now, you know, and even Palmer is sort of an afterthought
09:07and, you know, he came here and underwhelmed last year, but he had a reputation for being
09:14able to win one-on-one.
09:15He just hasn't had big years doing it because he's never been a number one guy and he still
09:21isn't, but you've just got more available.
09:24I think more options that can win at different levels of the field that just opens it up.
09:31More really changes thing.
09:33And having a healthy Kincaid is like acquiring a top flight tight end.
09:37Like they've not had him available like that in two years.
09:44So far, so good on that guy.
09:46I was going to go to a caller who wanted to talk Deion Walker and the caller left.

09:54I just, I don't think I can say enough how potentially impactful a player that he already
10:02is, if it continues, uh, they have not had a guy like that on that defense, the entirety
10:10of McDermott's time here.
10:11Like he is a problem.
10:13He's a menace and he's going to get talked about that way.
10:18The next time the bills play, you can bet he's going to be a feature player in the, in
10:24the broadcast, maybe even in the, hi, welcome to Buffalo scene setter thing, because he is
10:30making plays and he is already the league, I think is noticing he's six, seven and three
10:3830 and he moves like that.
10:40Like he is a warlock.
10:44I think I love that word for, for all the different, everything I just talked about more Kincaid,
10:50all this stuff on offense, man.
10:52I think if Walker is like a grade a top shelf disruptor in the middle of that defense,
11:00defensive line, man, that's a weapon.
11:02Like, I think that is the most impactful thing that could happen to this team.
11:07There was a moment last night between series.
11:10When I looked at my phone and I saw like three or four of people I follow in a row

11:19Walker and use the word problem in the tweet, Sam Monson, Dion Walker has, has been a problem
11:25this season so far, all caps.
11:29Marcus Mosher, Dallas, Dion Walker, a healthy Ed Oliver paired with Walker could be a real
11:35problem for opposing offenses.
11:38Next, Goodberry, Joe Goodberry, Dion Walker is a problem, period.
11:42And I think Mina Kimes might've come in on this list too.
11:45Mike Giardi as well.
11:47Dion Walker is a problem.
11:48Like that was the word of the night.
11:50I mean, it is, I mean, really think about it, right?
11:56McDermott's teams, they, they, they lose that first year in the, in the championship game
12:01in Kansas city and they got a draft edge guys.
12:04And like Rousseau is a part of this too.
12:05Rousseau maybe has been unlocked in some way in this new scheme for sacks and two games.
12:12It speaks for itself.
12:16But I'm more inclined to think because of, and I could, I hope I'm wrong about this.
12:21I could be wrong easily that his baseline, he's likely to sort of come back to earth Walker
12:27to me.
12:28And so I'm not, I'm not, they're not on the same ascending trajectory to me that they could
12:33be Rousseau might deserve better than that, but I'm, I guess I'm holding his previous
12:38bills career to an extent against him.
12:40I feel like I know what he's capable of.
12:43And again, maybe that changes and he keeps producing Walker is unprecedented in this defense
12:51to have a tackle that is doing what he's doing as consistently as he is.
12:59And boy, I'm glad to have the Oliver piece of that mentioned too, because Oliver with him,
13:06we've barely seen it.
13:08I mean, week one was, you know, good.
13:10Um, that could really be a game changer for them, a problem, a menace, a warlock and another
13:18warlock, a menacing, problematic warlock, a coven, a coven of warlocks.

13:34Um, I listening to some of the people online complain about Josh Allen hoarding all these
13:41touchdowns is almost unimaginable because when you watch him play last night, it was almost
13:47to that point where, let's see, who's going to score here?
13:49Well, I'll score here.
13:50We'll make sure we get James Cook a touchdown with, well, I got Dawson Knox or Kincaid.
13:54And, and hearing the people that all the Josh Allen haters out there complaining about him
13:59scoring all these touchdowns, it almost reminds me of, you know, we all have kids play, who
14:03played sports and say it's hockey.
14:05And there was always one kid who was so much better than everybody else.
14:08And he would score all the goals and all the parents would complain that he's hoarding
14:12all the goals.
14:13He's not sharing it.
14:14Let other people score.
14:16That's almost what they're asking.
14:17And it's almost an unimaginable that he is so good in the NFL, the highest sport he could
14:24be playing at, the highest level he could be playing at.
14:27It's almost at a point where he's scoring so easily that all these other people are complaining
14:32that he's scoring too much and he's got to let other people score.
14:35Well, I've never, I've never seen that.
14:37I, I love this point.
14:40I, I know.
14:42And I think the Knox touchdown is I've already, come on, this is too easy.
14:48And then I think maybe even the past DJ Moore could have been that in his head to like
14:53spread the wealth and then Moore gets hurt on that play.
14:57Not to say that that's Allen's fault, but it's just like, I think he's probably conscious
15:01of it.
15:01I just have to say again, because Brady said he wanted to make sure that cook got a touchdown
15:06and that, that could have easily been a tush push.
15:08I was the one at the one yard line.

16:12I just wanted to say one thing.
16:14I remember last year, maybe a year before that, I think that always drive me crazy was
16:18the like short behind the line of scrimmage passes to Shakir, or maybe one of the running
16:24backs, like little bubble screens on third down.
16:26And I'd be like clawing my hair out.
16:28Like we have Josh Allen.
16:29Why are we doing this on third down?
16:31And I have been, maybe you can correct me if I'm wrong.
16:34I don't know if they've run one of those plays once this season so far.
16:38And that just made me think about how much more involved McDermott was in the offense
16:43than I would have realized.
16:44I would have thought he had no part in it.
16:46But, you know, now that he's gone, that play that is such a, you know, conservative, you
16:51know, don't take a risk play is just kind of out of our playbook.
16:54And I'm so glad.
16:56I think you are, for some reason, I don't want to accuse you of anything, but I think
17:02you're selectively choosing to ignore the times that the play works.
17:07Like last night on second and 12 on the final touchdown drive, they threw a little pass that
17:14was parallel to the line of scrimmage to Shakir and the blocking was there and he got 16 yards
17:18and kept the clock running.
17:19It was a safe pass that was very little danger of it stopping the clock, which was a part
17:25of what you're trying to accomplish on that drive is eat clock.
17:28They ended up scoring anyway and putting the game ostensibly out of reach, but they've called
17:33it.
17:34They called it last night in the fourth quarter.
17:36You just didn't care because it worked.
17:40Well, I think one of the more interesting things to monitor this year so far and going forward
17:46is this, Connor, this point about McDermott and I've got to say through two games that
17:54they look like they want to be more aggressive and that might have to reflect on McDermott and
18:03it might not be best to sort of parse that by certain play calls.
18:07But I mean, a quarterback sneak and especially with this quarterback is the most efficient play
18:14in the sport and does that make it conservative when they do it?
18:19No, not necessarily.
18:20You don't have to like it, but it really makes it smart.
18:24And so I think, look, I mean, these two games, they've just smoked the Texans and the Lions
18:30and there's nothing you can say that isn't, you know, positive about it.
18:34I have to tell you, like watching the game and right from the beginning last night,
18:38Allen went four for 40 on the first drive, including a fumble that he got away with early
18:42in that first series, he fumbled on a Hutchinson play and maybe Brown got it.
18:48One of the linemen recovered it.
18:51Four for 40 on the first drive.
18:52Sneaks all over the place.
18:54The touchdown play, the last caller, last hour was upset about that the Bills didn't
18:58blow up the guy who hit him.
19:00He takes so many hits.
19:02How many hits can the body survive?
19:05I mean, this season is just starting.
19:07The Bills have been a hot item in the middle of September before.
19:13That's not what this season is about.
19:16Rex Ryan had win the offseason.
19:18The Bills don't have win week two.
19:21You know, Mike McDaniel, the year the Dolphins scored 70 points and beat Denver and were maybe
19:273-0.

19:31I mean, really, this has been great, and I think most fears about what the transition
19:38to Brady might resemble have been quelled.
19:43I mean, so far you've had a great start.
19:47I just, you know, I think it's normal to have some trepidation that Allen can only take so
19:55many hits, and he just can't live without it.
19:59He told Tyler Dunn, was it Tyler Dunn, or was it someone else?

20:08I mean, he just wants to play like this last night until he breaks, and you just have to

20:25because with every one of these games and seasons, this is an interesting, I tried to
20:31tee Aaron Williams up for this a little bit.

20:38You know, and like, Jalen Phillips had his hands on Allen in the preseason game against
20:43Carolina.
20:44I'm like, uh-oh, because this is a guy who's had a history with him, and it's the preseason,
20:49and what's the worst they can do to me?

20:52So, you know, that didn't result in anything.
20:55I don't know.
20:55I'm not saying, like, anybody's going to have to get dirty, or should want to, or should
20:59choose to.
21:00But, man, he takes such a pounding in these games, and he delivers one to the point where
21:06defenses just crack.
21:07They can't, they don't know what to do with themselves.

21:12They're like, completely at a loss.
21:15And you see Allen start to leak out, and literally an edge rusher or a linebacker turned his back
21:21on him and went up the field with a Bills back or receiver, maybe just to sort of get
21:26out of the, get out of the way.
21:27Like, I don't want to have to, I don't want this.
21:29Somebody, let somebody else take it this time.
21:31I'm sick of this.

21:34So, the physical force that he is, is so huge in these games, there's no one like him.
21:42And we're into year nine, and, you know, he's got the longest active streak of starts
21:49of any quarterback.
21:50It's kind of insane that you could have both of those things.
21:53To play the way he plays, and to never miss a game, it's kind of insane.
21:57And there's no sign of it slowing.
21:59I mean, last night was, we talked about it.
22:02He's going to score the first touchdown, right?
22:04If they get the ball, there's no way he's not scoring the first touchdown in that place.

22:39Like, you know, the guy's upset about his performance, the team's performance, all of it.

22:46Like, I don't know what else I'm supposed to do to try to stop this man.
