01:00lake city this year we sat down and and really it makes sense like the sport right now is in

01:05place here uh with what we're doing and um you know we know that there's a lot of talent down
01:10there
01:11right now even looking down into the 85 class with the blake lohannans of the world um there's there's
01:17definitely a deep level of talent and we want to give them a clearer opportunity to come here and race
01:22um you know in the smx world championship so uh really excited those guys are great to work with
01:28down there i'll actually be attending my first event uh this year um but you know what what we've
01:33seen and working with those guys it's awesome it's going to be a class act you're going down to
01:38australia this year yeah yeah oh be ready mike you're maybe not going to want to come back it's
01:43pretty amazing i hear this is your guy australia guy right here he knows all the spots he'll set you
01:48up with a full itinerary yeah yeah coffee spots new travel agent over there awesome i like it that's
01:54right so the smx next just last thing for you mike it's obviously working very well and the proof's in
01:59the pudding you think about hayden deegan one of the best guys to potentially ever do it look we're
02:04going to think back in years to come that he's well on his way to being that now cole davies
02:08he's
02:09kind of next in line he's your he won the supercross title now he's motocross champ in the 250 class
02:13he came out of smx next i think of julian bomer so the list is getting longer and longer that
02:18are
02:18coming out of the smx next program yeah and i think it's forgotten jet warrants did too uh so
02:23it was uh currently branded as smx futures but you know it's it's uh smx next program uh cole is

02:30perfect example of why we're looking at australia as well um so ben foundley had reached out to us
02:35provided us some of his videos of riding a local track and you know at the time honestly it was
02:40like
02:40well i don't know guys and uh ben kept kept on sent a couple of different videos to us and
02:45we're like
02:46all right let's give him a shot you know it looks good and obviously that paid off so um you
02:50know
02:50that that that's what this program is about is giving people the opportunity to shine in front of
02:56under the under the lights and cole davies is the perfect poster child for smx next if you think back
03:02to 2024 watching him in that class the improvement that he made going into his rookie season in 2025
03:09some of the biggest one-year improvement i've ever seen maybe ever yeah and that's what it's about
03:14right like it's not it is what's on the track but it's also under the lights the fans all those
03:20different components are in our opinion important because when you show up you don't want to be on
03:25the line against seasoned veteran 250 guys you should be against your peers where you're a little bit
03:30more comfortable you can kind of figure things out get used to the autograph sessions in the afternoon
03:34and all those different elements that make you a professional rider so i think from that benchmark we've
03:40hit it folks what's crazy i'm about to blow your mind because cole davies that video i had the
03:45privilege of watching as well the one spot that he needed work was the whoops out here he doesn't
03:51need work in the whoops anymore i see whatever ben townley did ben if you're watching you're the man

04:55on the 177 getting the win in the mud last weekend has the red plate i think that's a rider

05:07basically an unknown and for him to get that win similar with what i said about hayden deegan would
05:13he have won if it's dry we'll never know but i think the confidence that kate johnson can take from
05:18that i think we're going to be able to see itself play out on track today just dylan rempel right

05:31250 motocross champion getting an opportunity just a week ago unfortunately struggled a little
05:36bit in the mud but he is on it here today with a 53.5 and this is what this

05:43mike mui about it this is what it's all about giving a guy like dylan rempel an opportunity to showcase
05:48his talents and he's doing just that here today and there are so many riders on track here that that
05:54have
05:54so much talent so much untapped potential that they're trying to tap into and that's what makes
06:00this class so fun to watch is on any given weekend you don't know who's going to have that breakout
06:05performance it's going to a guy that's going to show you that he can excel at the next level and
06:10dylan rempel here on the floor another very talented rider to keep your eyes on in the future
06:15justin turner that club mx yamaha rider in second kate johnson you mentioned getting that win
06:20a week ago had a great battle with rider malinowski on the number nine malinowski crashing out of that
06:27race or ultimately crashing a couple times didn't get the finish he wanted but this is going to be a
06:31battle here today malinowski versus johnson versus rempel versus turner there's a lot of young kids
06:37out here with a lot of potential and you know what i find so crazy justin is that rider malinowski
06:43did not start riding dirt bikes until 2020 is that right that's right 20 that doesn't seem possible
06:50to me but rider he's been a guy the last couple years now that's had so much speed for him
06:57it's
06:57just about staying off the ground and if he can find a way to kind of tighten up those mistakes

07:03little bit it's a guy that absolutely has the talent to exceed at the professional level okay johnson on
07:08177 is at third right now 53.8 kade's in a unique situation he's a race winner last year now
07:14he's a
07:14race winner this year looking for that pro ride that's potentially his last year in smx next but
07:20just talk about the pressure to get it done and potentially get a paying job going into 2027
07:25professional racing well i think in the smx next class it's less about winning and it's more so
07:32showcasing the tools that you have to the team i think it's more speed you're trying to show those
07:38flashes of brilliance i think all these riders are not fully developed yet right so there's going to
07:43be mistakes things that they can do better but ultimately what the teams are looking for
07:47is just the speed we've heard the term a million times we can work with smeed and that still rings
07:53true throughout the pits
07:58jesson turner goes to the top right there 53.0 so he's fastest on track by half a second that
08:05is a
08:05good time right there from the club mx yamaha rider let's see you got down in the sand k johnson
