00:02I got to tell you, I am surprised on how good a coach
00:05Kellen Moore is turning out to be.
00:07Every time I look at Tyler Shook, the guy's getting better
00:10and better and better every single week,
00:12and it's got to be the influence of Kellen Moore.
00:15He's really turning that program around.
00:17If you remember right, Jacob, that Saints team was in salary cap hell,
00:21all the things that they did there with Sean Payton, and here they are.
00:25They look like they're very competitive and should be 2-0 on the year.
00:30Yeah, I'm right there with you.
00:31At the beginning of the season, I was kind of looking at the NFC South,
00:34and I was saying to myself, I think the Saints are going to win that division.
00:37I liked what I saw from Tyler Shook, his growth at the end of year one.
00:41I thought Kellen Moore really got more out of the roster
00:44than I thought he would during his rookie coaching season there.
00:47So I came in kind of saying, hey, this team could be pretty good.
00:50Now, I didn't expect them to necessarily beat the Ravens in week two.
00:53I didn't maybe necessarily expect them to almost come from 21 points down
00:57to beat the Lions.
00:57And so they're even more impressive than I thought they were,
01:01and I was someone who was a little higher on the Saints than most.
01:03But I think it boils down to Kellen Moore is a very good offensive coach.
01:07Tyler Shook has shown tremendous ability to grow just across,
01:10I believe he's made 11 NFL starts to date.
01:13Like you said, he just keeps getting better and better, more efficient.
01:16He's reading the field well.
01:17He's making all the plays that you would expect a quarterback to make.
01:20So he looks pretty seasoned out there for a second-year quarterback.
01:23I know he spent like seven years in college, so maybe that's part of it.
01:26But he deserves a lot of credit.
01:28He's got a lot of weapons around him, too.
01:30Chris Olave looks great.
01:31That offensive line is good.
01:32So I'm pretty high on the Saints.
01:34I think they will challenge the Carolina Panthers to win that division this year.
01:37That kind of seems to be the two best teams in the NFC South,
01:40granted just two weeks into the season.
01:43Yeah, two weeks into the season.
01:45Are you concerned about the Ravens?
01:48I am a little bit concerned about them.
01:50I would have expected them to be a little bit better off the bat here.
01:54And, you know, I think just part of it is they're switching up the coaching staff.
01:58Like, I feel like we've talked a lot about John Harbaugh going to the Giants,
02:01just in general, as football fans.
02:04But not as much has been made of, hey, they're bringing in a new coach at Baltimore, too.
02:08Like, Jesse Minter is there.
02:10They brought in Declan Doyle to be the new offensive coordinator.
02:13So they have two new systems there.
02:14I know Minter comes from the double Harbaugh tree.
02:17I believe he worked for both Jim and John during his career.
02:20So he had some familiarity with that.
02:22But he's still implementing his own system, his own culture.
02:25And Declan Doyle is a very, very young offensive coordinator.
02:28So I think part of their maybe inconsistency through the first two weeks
02:32is probably just related to the new systems being in place there.
02:36But certainly I would have expected them to get off to a better start.
02:39And I would have expected them to beat the Saints there.
02:41So them going into week three, and I think they're heading to Brazil
02:44to play the Cowboys.
02:45Being there at one and one, that's a little bit scarier for them
02:47than I think they thought.
02:48I think they would have preferred, obviously, everyone would prefer
02:51to go into the game 2-0.
02:52But especially when you're playing an international game
02:55against a team with a good offense, that game's going to be very telling.
02:58If the Ravens can beat the Cowboys soundly on the road there,
03:00I think we'll feel a lot better.
03:02But if they lose, then the questions will start coming in.
