00:24Uh, and then I got this from Ed. Ed writes, I'm really happy you didn't sink to the topic of
00:31Jaden injured and ignored by his teammates in Dallas.
00:36I just can't believe the negative media that go off on the team for clicks. Now more than ever, we
00:42need to be there for the team.
00:44Uh, thank you for that, Ed. And thank you for that Teardown88. Uh, Ed, just so you know, it's not,
00:52I mean, there are people you can find.
00:55Plenty of them that do the Larry Michael bit, you know, on social media with, you know, whatever fan site
01:02they have. I mean, they, there are several of them that clearly do not like anybody that's even constructively critical
01:09about the team.
01:11Um, I don't, that's not me. That's not, I don't think most of the, it's not Chris. It's not the
01:17guys on 106.7, the fan. Um, it's not people who cover the team. We're not here to be cheerleaders.
01:23I'm a big fan.
01:24Of the team. I want them to do well. Um, it benefits me when they do well, but beyond that,
01:30it's the, you know, it's the visceral, it's the emotional, it's the attachment to, uh, I'm just, um, I'm just
01:37happier when we've got meaningful football games, uh, during the fall leading into the winter with the team that I've
01:43rooted for my entire life.
01:45I'm not a reporter, so I can be, um, biased. I can show bias. I can be a fan, but,
01:52but, um, the, you know, the idea at all due respect that we should be, you know, now here to
01:59support them.
02:01Uh, they need us more than ever before. That's for some of the fan sites that you may, um, follow.
02:09Um, now to tear down 88, I actually didn't see this until, did you send it to me during the
02:17show yesterday? I think you may have sent it to me during the show. You didn't send it to me
02:21before the show yesterday, correct?
02:23Correct. I saw a bunch of people, you know, talking about it, but I didn't really want to like, think
02:28we should have given it that much time, especially because of the play of the last play of the half
02:32and he was trying to run off the field. So, right. So there, there's a shot, there's shot, there's video
02:38of basically the players walking away from Jaden Daniels, who's on the field, clearly injured. Um, and they, you know,
02:49the video of course, you know, on social media,
02:53I guess went viral and it would appear that they didn't care for Jaden in that moment. And that's, that's
03:01the message that people tried to get out.
03:03So for, so for some added context, can I play Kyle long on CBS talking about this just kind of,
03:09you know, from his perspective of it?
03:11Sure. I like Kyle long. Go ahead.
03:13What really stood out to me as an offensive lineman is Jaden Daniels on the ground, writhing in pain, obviously
03:20in tremendous pain.
03:21And his offensive linemen are just moseying to the sideline. Nobody is surrounding around their quarterback. Nobody's trying to get
03:27him up.
03:28I did not like that body language from the Washington commanders. Um, that's not how, that's not, that doesn't look
03:34good to me. The optics are really bad. Okay.
03:36Do you think that was because they're all devastated or do you think it's because they didn't care, man?
03:41I think they're devastated, but also I don't know what the heck I'm supposed to think about that Russell. I
03:46mean, job number one, what would you have done?
03:48I'd be right there with my guy, bro. I'd be right there with my guy, or I'd be sprinting to
03:52get somebody off the sideline.
03:54Just the body language to me. Uh, it's a little disastrous.
03:59Okay. I like Chris long. I like Kyle long. Who was the Russell? Was that Russell Wilson?
04:04It was dangerous. Okay. Um, he's, he's doing CBS now, right?
04:09Does he do the pregame show on CBS with like cower and all those guys?
04:12Yeah. He's, I think he's on the desk, but they were doing this show called James Brown still host the
04:18CBS pregame show.
04:21I hope he does. I don't believe he does. They would, they would have given him a big send off
04:25if they did, if he wasn't, I'm telling you that the pregame shows, there's so many of them now.
04:30And I guess I haven't paid attention to them that much. I I'll typically at 10 AM I'll throw on
04:39NFL network and ESPN just to get any sort of news, you know, that Schefter has or Rappaport has about,
04:49you know, who's in, who's out, et cetera.
04:50But I don't, I, I, I, God, man, there was a day, there was a day. Some of, you know,
04:55what I'm talking about too. Some of you of a certain age remember when the NFL today with Brent Musburger
05:01and Irv Cross and Phyllis George and or Jane Kennedy, God, Jane Kennedy was lovely.
05:08Uh, and Jimmy, the Greek that was must watch before the one o'clock games. And for many years, it
05:16was just, believe it or not, believe it or not.
05:19I know I'm getting away from the subject. I'll get back to it. I promise. Um, for many, many years,
05:24the pregame shows on both NBC and CBS, NBC was the home of the AFC television package.
05:32And CBS was the home of the NFC package. I would say that into the eighties, probably the mid eighties,
05:42the pregame shows were a half an hour.
05:46That was it. 1230. You got the CBS NFL today show, which was the gold standard for pregame shows.
05:56Musburger was the absolute best. Musburger was phenomenal all day long. You know, when you'd go back to him with
06:03an update from another game and then the post game halftimes, the whole thing, it was just 30 minutes.
06:10I know that's 40 years ago now. Uh, and then it expanded to an hour. And then obviously in the
06:16last, I don't know, 20 years, 25 years, you know, pregame basically starts at 4 a.m.
06:22Uh, if you want to get up and find some pregame on an NFL Sunday, that's an exaggeration, but it
06:27does start at about 6 a.m., 7 a.m. for sure. And then the official shows come on at
06:3110 a.m., three hours before kickoff.
06:33Anyway, um, I don't even know what got me started. What got me started on CBS. Oh, CBS. I, JB
06:40is just one of the all time great people. And he's done a phenomenal, phenomenal job over the years hosting
06:47that show. I just didn't know if he still was doing it this year. I haven't paid attention again after
06:53like the 10 a.m. hour. Um, not as much.
06:56Anyway, back to the injury and the video and the players leaving the field. You got to be kidding me.
07:04Sorry, Kyle, you are a hundred percent wrong. Okay. First of all, I know this for a fact.
07:13And so does John Kime, who will join us at 1025 and anybody else that has any sort of insight
07:20beyond just fan insight. This is one of the most popular people in that locker room. One of the most
07:29respected. He is not, this is not an RG three situation. Okay. It isn't, uh, it's not a, a Jay
07:38Cutler situation.
07:40Um, first name that came to my mind of a guy that maybe not everybody loved, not a Jay Schrader
07:46situation. Jay Schrader was not a popular, uh, Redskin quarterback, Doug Williams, very popular. Uh, so I think, and, and
07:57I've, I've read some of the followup to it from people on our beat, including John and Ben and others.
08:04It was halftime. Halftime is very short in the NFL. Okay. 12 minutes, 13 minutes, long way to the locker
08:12room, you know, med medical stuff update. Uh, and then you got to get back out. Look at the scene
08:20when he got hurt against Seattle last year, the reaction that was in game fourth quarter. No one was expected
08:27to get back to the locker room. No, this is a total.
08:30Anybody that believes that for some reason it's because they don't respect them. They don't like them. And they just
08:36left them there. Total misinterpretation of the situation. Total misinterpretation of the situation. Um, yeah.
08:46I mean, I think anybody that knows anything about him and the way people think about him in that building
08:54understands. Also, it's very possible that in the moment they were either distraught or, or didn't really know necessarily. Uh,
09:04but I think it was, it may have been John or, or somebody, uh, I'd have to find the, um,
09:12it was John.
09:12I think that said guys did come back out after the situation started to linger and they realized it was
09:19a bit more serious. So whatever. Uh, it's, you know, this isn't, uh, in social media, a video like that.
09:29I get it. Why it goes viral. The reaction, of course, but many times the reactions are completely way off.
09:37And in that particular case, it's way off.
