00:00So today we're here because two years ago the government supported the birth trauma inquiry
00:05recommendations but we're here because progress has been way too slow, inexcusably slow. We're
00:14asking for more continuity of midwifery care which was one of the key recommendations and
00:19what women have wanted, respectful maternity care, trauma-informed care for all women,
00:23birth centres so women in Milton, Shell Harbour can birth in a birth centre with a midwife
00:30and we also want birthing on country for First Nations families so that their birth,
00:35their preferences are culturally safe. It's really important that the government is transparent about
00:42what they've done. These inquiries have come directly from women, from healthcare workers,
00:47from midwives and they were all supported by the government. We're asking for the government to
00:52treat this with urgency and leading up to the election we're going to be holding our politicians
00:58and our representatives to account to make sure that the one in three women that experience birth
01:04trauma, that those numbers go down.
