00:23We are about 15 or so miles northwest to world-famous Miami Beach

00:29as we are set for football at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

00:34Today, after a topsy-turvy opening weekend, it's on to Week 2,

00:38and we've got a good one here as it'll be the Houston Texans taking on the Miami Dolphins.

00:56Now the Texans' defense.

01:27They'll run.

01:29Balls all the way down at the 40-yard line.

01:32A big hitter.

01:33That one goes for 40 yards.

01:35Thought they were going to have him down a lot earlier, but he was able to shed that tackle.

01:39Shows the value of the weight room, doesn't it?

01:41Shows the value of the attitude when you run the football.

01:44Don't go down easily.

01:46Break a few tackles.

01:47Gain some additional yardage.

01:4918-Condell, 18-Condell.

01:52On first down, back to A-Chan.

01:55And give him six yards here as he's stopped near the 35 at the 34.

02:01You see the numbers on the ground a week ago for A-Chan.

02:0518 carries, 76 yards.

02:08How about we shot a little spotlight on the offensive line?

02:11Those big guys up front are creating nice space, nice gaps for them to run through.

02:15I think he's going to go for over 100 yards in this game.

02:18Call it no gain that time as it's going to leave him with a third and about three to go.

02:23Coming up here looking for three yards to pick up the first.

02:27Out of the gun now on third down.

02:30And, oh, he's just going to be short here.

02:33Barely.

02:33Maybe by a half a foot.

02:35It'll be fourth and inches.

02:37Interesting decision here.

02:39Opening drive, Charles, fourth and short.

02:41You're in field goal range.

02:42We'll see what they do.

02:43I just shake a fist at my offense and say, go get it, guys.

02:47Because if you can't pick up fourth and short here,

02:49they'll probably be in trouble the rest of the game.

02:51Show some confidence.

02:53Show some aggressiveness.

02:54Go pick it up.

02:55Fourth down, no problem.

02:57Just a ho-hum pickup of 14 to keep the offense on the field.

03:01Quite the opening drive march they're on right now.

03:04It looks a lot like what we saw in practice prior to the game.

03:06Doesn't it?

03:07You know, because on that last big practice beforehand,

03:10you go through your offensive script.

03:12You go through your play calling.

03:13You go through all the stuff and establish things.

03:15And it looks like it's going like clockwork right now for them.

03:20And he'll take this into the end zone for a Dolphins touchdown.

03:25Ali Gordon, his first touchdown of the new season.

03:29And the Dolphins will jump on top with a game's first score here.

03:42Coming out for their second drive.

03:44This could end up being a pretty big drive.

03:46I mean, look, yes, it's early in this game, but they scored the touchdown.

03:49They got the stop.

03:50And now if they could get in the end zone here again, CD,

03:53they could grab an early stranglehold on this one.

03:55Yeah, they certainly can.

03:57And that's what you're looking for.

03:58Where's the advantage?

03:59Can you gain it?

04:01Can you press it?

04:02Now for them, finishing it off.

04:04Because right now it's out there for them.

04:06They've just got to go seize it.

04:13They'll start on the ground.

04:14This is Gordon on first down.

04:16Stiff arm to him.

04:18Fighting through, and he's got space.

04:20And he'll be out just a yard or two, shy of the 30.

04:2423 yards on the pickup there and a first.

04:36And he's able to work his way down inside the red zone to the 19-yard line.

04:42The 71 yards rushing for him as he's got the afternoon off to a great start.

04:47Back-to-back good plays have him on the move on first down.

04:53Here's a play fake as they set up to throw.

04:56Now steps away to his left.

04:59And he's got it.

05:00And he'll take this into the end zone for a Dolphins touchdown.

05:05Devon Achan from 19 yards away.

05:10And the Dolphins are off to a 13-0 first quarter lead.

05:33Leading this offense back out.

05:35He threw a touchdown pass last time they had it.

05:38And he'll look to get them in the end zone again here as they start with the first down.

05:58Flag comes in.

05:59This might be a free play.

06:02And it's a short one here.

06:03Complete to his tight end.

06:06Now he takes this one down almost all the way to the 30.

06:15So they'll accept that penalty.

06:17And that will, of course, move the football up the field.

06:19So this helps to start a drive.

06:21After the penalty, it'll be first and five.

06:24But Achan gets it from the gun.

06:29Loose inside the 30.

06:31Inside the 10.

06:33And all the way in for a Miami touchdown.

06:36Now, Devon Achan, his second rushing touchdown of the year.

06:49Offensive unit now, they get set to take over.

06:52Well, partner, you know, coaches always say that every play is designed to score a touchdown.

06:57Sometimes that's not really true.

06:58But last drive, that was the case.

07:01One play to get into the end zone.

07:02And now they'll try to duplicate that success here.

07:05And it's rare for those moments to happen.

07:07Incredible when they do.

07:09And you saw the celebration.

07:11Pure, unbridled joy after that one.

07:21They'll try and start this drive in the air.

07:24Short throw caught by Dosich.

07:26And he'll get this to the 22.

07:28So they began the play at the 11.

07:30And it's a gain of 11.

07:32First down.

07:38A play-action fake.

07:39They'll look to throw.

07:41Caught out left side by Robinson.

07:43So the completion good for six yards.

07:46And that'll bring up second down.

07:53Out of the gun.

07:54Here's a give to Achan.

07:57Oh, an absolutely filthy joke.

07:59He's got some space now.

08:01And he'll be taken down, but not before they reach the 50.

08:12Now a play fake here on first down.

08:16Firing quickly here.

08:17And that's complete.

08:18That he's going to be out of bounds, but not before he takes it inside the 40.

08:24We are in for a good one as we're through one on EA Sports.

08:35Second quarter from Miami.

08:36It's the Dolphins with the football.

08:39As they've got it with a first and ten.

08:55Now contact up front as penalty markers come in.

08:59Who is this against?

09:12And he got a little aggressive too early.

09:14And he did, wanting that quick takeoff as the ball was snapped.

09:17But I think sometimes those big guys on offense, they're pretty cagey too, right?

09:22They make those little sudden moves or those little subtle moves that get you to jump.

09:26Forced out to his left.

09:29And he'll have it in the run zone before he crosses over out of bounds.

09:34I guess no need to force it when you can do that instead.

09:38First down, 18-yard gain.

09:48A run straight ahead with Achan.

09:51And he will take it in for a Dolphins touchdown.

09:56Devon, eight.

10:06Captain of this offense heading back out there.

10:08He hasn't had his best day.

10:10They have been good running the football.

10:12And they have the lead, though.

10:13So maybe he just personally wants to improve his play.

10:16And that's without a doubt.

10:17Because at the end of the game,

10:19he wants to feel like he had a really good hand in his team winning.

10:22If, in fact, they do go on and get that done.

10:24But the bottom line is finding a way to win the game.

10:28So if you're not playing that well, but somebody else is on the team,

10:32keep going to that hot hand.

10:33Not over yet, but looking good here in the second quarter.

10:36Took just one play to move all the way to the 44 as they try again on first down.

10:45That's complete.

10:47DeMario Douglas with it.

10:48And he'll be out of bounds just shy of the 40.

10:51A Miami first down on the 14-yard pickup.

11:00He'll look to throw.

11:05Oh, you saw that one coming.

11:07It's intercepted.

11:08Throwing back across his body.

11:10Picked out by the Pro Bowl safety, Kalen Bullock.

11:13And the Tech.

11:19His seven throw of the ball game.

11:20But prior to that, he was a perfect six of six.

11:23So now he starts his drive.

11:25Six of seven.

11:26First and ten.

11:28Now A-chan on first and ten.

11:31And he'll be taken down at the 20 after a game of just one.

11:35From the 20, here's the second down and nine.

11:42Back to throw.

11:46Under pressure.

11:48And he'll go down.

11:49Back at the 26-yard line.

11:51The chance of wasting this great starting field position.

11:55A real threat.

11:56This is third and long.

12:00And a throw there.

12:01Going to be incomplete.

12:03They certainly had good starting field position on that drive.

12:06But couldn't do anything with it.

12:13Field general once more leading his offense back onto the field.

12:17And it's actually been out of the backfield.

12:19Handing the ball off where they've had a lot of success.

12:22So if you're the quarterback, do you just maybe say,

12:24you know, maybe this isn't my day.

12:26Our running game's going so well.

12:27You just continue to lean on that.

12:28I agree.

12:29That's exactly what you do.

12:30And you have to kind of take your ego and put it aside.

12:33Because you always think your next throw is going to be your best throw, right?

12:36Your next play is going to be your best play.

12:38Lean on what's working for you right now.

12:41That should help carry your team to victory if things keep going in the direction that they are.

12:45Yeah, because the formula has them the lead currently.

12:47They get seven out of that.

12:49So they're left with a third and three.

12:55Back to throw here.

12:58Pass taken in by his big tight end.

13:01And he is going to have the Dolphins first down.

13:04It won't be by much.

13:05He needed three and he got three, barely.

13:08But the mark shows first down.

13:13Under pressure and the Texans able to get in there for the sack.

13:18Now after the play, it looks like there's a Texan here slow to get up.

13:21Now following the sack, they'll come up here on a second down and 12.

13:26They'll try to right side this time.

13:28Here with Gordon.

13:29And not much room to speak of.

13:31They'll get about three up to the 41.

13:33The offense on third down.

13:36Just one for three thus far.

13:37This is third and nine.

13:45Looking to throw.

13:53Now he takes this one down almost all the way to the 30.

13:57Big yardage there on the scramble.

13:59It gets him a first down.

14:00Well, that turned out better than most of the passes.

14:02He could have thrown on that snap.

14:04The coverage downfield was excellent.

14:06But the containment close to home left him a backdoor escape.

14:09And they paid dearly for not locking up.

14:12Now inside of 25.

14:15Bell so right on his feet.

14:16And he's going to get it all the way down to the 10-yard line.

14:20That's back-to-back plays of over 20 yards.

14:24Two big plays in succession.

14:25Not sure this D knows what hit him.

14:27But now they've got to get ready.

14:28It's first and goal.

14:30And he'll get about four there as he takes it from the 10 down to the six.

14:35So that run gets him about halfway home.

14:37Yes.

14:38Now second and goal.

14:39The end zone beckons.

14:41It looms.

14:42They can do whatever they want.

14:43Full playbook.

14:44Run it again.

14:45Or they can go play action and try and put it in that way.

14:48One more time with a champ.

14:50And he gets halfway there from the six to the three on a gain of three.

14:55Well, they made the play there.

14:57And I'll guarantee you, their coaches and the other players are screaming at them about their pride.

15:02Come on, guys.

15:03He's only gotten in three times.

15:04You can't give up a fourth one.

15:06But on that play, they were able to make the stop.

15:08And you knew they were going to go to him to try to get that for us.

15:11And why wouldn't they?

15:12It's not.

15:18Taking the snaps under center, heading out for the next possession.

15:22Yeah, they have had success on the ground, really, as a team, doing well carrying the football.

15:27So maybe a little less pressure on his shoulders as the quarterback.

15:31Any pressure he's carrying right now, that's self-inflicted, right?

15:34He's taking it on.

15:35He doesn't need to.

15:36Continue to do what you just said.

15:38Let everyone else carry the football.

15:40That's been effective.

15:42Don't have to worry about him throwing the ball in all the situations now.

15:45That's got to be a good feeling if he just relaxes and lets it keep coming to him.

15:49Yeah, relax and enjoy the second quarter lead right now.

15:53And the ball's smack dab on the five-yard line.

15:56Here's second and goal.

15:59They'll look to throw.

16:02To the goal line, but it's incomplete.

16:05They may be snapping the ball near the goal line, but all you're thinking defensively,

16:09keep him out of the end zone, force the incompletion, force him into going for three and not giving up.

16:15And he will take it in for a Dolphins touchdown.

16:20A great effort there.

16:27This offense heading back out to the field.

16:30He had the touchdown pass on the last drive, his second of this first half, as he'll try again on

16:36first down here.

16:40They'll drop the throw.

16:44Oh, and this one incomplete.

16:46The pressure got to him as he released it.

16:49And it's second down.

16:50Well, the great coaches said football's really a simple game.

16:53Rush theirs, protect yours.

16:55And he's talking about those guys throwing the football.

16:57In this situation, the rush one, hitting the quarterback, and forcing him into an incompletion.

17:02Now the Texans will burn the first of their timeouts, as they'll head to the sideline and talk over what

17:09to do next.

17:10Now right where this set of downs started, they need a full 10 here to pick up the first down

17:15and move the chains.

17:21On third down, he'll drop the throw.

17:24And he takes a shot on the release, as this will be incomplete.

17:28That might be the third down stop that they needed, because they've had a lot of...

17:39The captain of this offense leading his crew back out there now.

17:43I'm sure he wanted to have a huge game, wants to have a huge game as the quarterback.

17:47But really, on the ground, they've been very, very hard to stop.

17:50Maybe you just keep going to that well.

17:52Well, I think so.

17:53And isn't it funny how the definition of balance changes for us from game to game?

17:57Sometimes it's, like, 50-50, run it, throw it.

18:00Sometimes it's just being a balanced running team in terms of who's carrying the football.

18:04Yeah, not more than one guy.

18:05Right, multiple guys out there.

18:07And now your guy back there has to throw it.

18:09You don't have to worry about it quite as much.

18:11And they've got the lead here in the second quarter.

18:13And that'll be incomplete.

18:16Took a pretty good shot as he tried to pull that one in.

18:19Couldn't hang on.

18:20Third down.

18:23They're going to look to throw.

18:26Able to find the open there.

18:28That's complete.

18:29And it'll be out of bounds, but able to get it up past the 45.

18:40They'll look to throw here on first down.

18:43It's caught on the right side by Robinson.

18:53So these two teams are...

18:55The third quarter begins with a run by A-Chant.

19:19And maybe a measure of revenge there.

19:21He's had his way in this one, but this time they get him behind the line.

19:25A loss of a yard there to start out.

19:27That leads to a second and 11.

19:35A-Chant on the counter.

19:38And able to stay on his feet past the 30 to about the 33-yard line.

19:42Here comes third down at seven.

19:47They'll set up to throw.

19:51And it is caught.

19:53And he'll be taken down, but not before he works it past the 50.

19:57And quickly they get to the line.

20:07On the handoff, it's A-Chant.

20:10And good penetration here.

20:11He'll get this down only to about the 49-yard line.

20:15The time called here because a member of the Texans is in some discomfort.

20:20We'll get an update when we come back to Hard Rock Stadium.

20:26So, from just across the midfield stripe, here's second and nine.

20:31Again, it's A-Chant.

20:34Gets around him.

20:35And a pretty athletic run right there as he's going to get this down inside the 40.

20:40So, from the 39 now, they'll come up on a first and 10.

20:46Now back to throw.

20:49Steps away.

20:51Oh, he was hit as he threw it there.

20:53And that one winds up incomplete.

20:55Here's second and 10.

21:05They'll look to throw here.

21:10Completes it to Douglas.

21:11And he gets this one inside the 15, just a yard or two shy of the 10.

21:17Now a first and 10 at the 11.

21:20Out of the gun.

21:22They'll look to throw.

21:25And he'll take this into the end zone for a Dolphins touchdown.

21:31A great play there.

21:33His third touchdown.

21:41Touchdown passes with a last drive.

21:43He ran one in.

21:44So, now three total touchdowns for him here as they start this drive.

21:48First and 10.

21:56They go play action here on first down.

21:59Rolling to his left.

22:01Throw left side complete.

22:02That's Douglas.

22:03And he goes out right around the 39.

22:07Now second and three.

22:15On play action.

22:16They'll throw.

22:19That ball nearly intercepted.

22:21The rookie had his hands on it, but couldn't pull it in.

22:25So, the incomplete pass on the last play.

22:28And that leads us to a third and three.

22:32And he will not be able to hang on through the contact.

22:35It's incomplete.

22:37The coverage struck.

22:45Offense now heads back on the field.

22:47Now, there are two scores on the plus side.

22:49Still time here in this fourth quarter, but maybe you start thinking about playing keep away?

22:54Yeah, I think here's the situation.

22:55You're not thinking touchdowns anymore.

22:57You're just thinking first downs to keep up with your theme there playing keep away.

23:01But, first downs, they can't touch the ball.

23:04And he'll be taken down, but not before they work it across midfield.

23:09And now it looks like they're going to be in the hurry up.

23:19Off the play fake.

23:21He'll look to throw.

23:22And he's going to go down.

23:24The Texans come at him and able to bring him to the ground.

23:28Protection certainly going to need to be a bit better here on second and 16.

23:48They'll set up a throw.

23:51And that'll fall incomplete.

23:52He was hit just as he let that go.

23:56And now it's third down.

23:57We'll see where they go for this play call.

24:00Obviously tough in this spot.

24:02Backed up.

24:06Now here's a throw out wide.

24:08Oh, this might be a double pass.

24:11And this one nearly intercepted.

24:14That one might need to go back to the drawing.

24:21Offense set and ready to go.

24:24They've got a chance now to put this game away following that last defensive stop and punt.

24:34And the drive starts with a run from H.A.M.

24:37And in maneuver his way forward for about four.

24:40Second and six.

24:50He'll look to throw.

24:52Buying time to his left.

24:56Looking left side and he's got a man.

24:59That's Douglas.

25:00He'll get this one down near the 20-yard line.

25:03Just shy of the 20.

25:05That'll go as a pick up of 32 on the catch and run.

25:08So the big play gets him all the way down to the outskirts of the red zone here for first

25:13and ten.

25:15He'll drop to throw.

25:19And nowhere to fit that football in.

25:22It's knocked away and incomplete.

25:25So now second and ten after the incompletion on first down.

25:31From the shotgun, he'll look to throw.

25:33And he fires one incomplete.

25:37Well, they'll certainly be on the tablets going over that one for sure.

25:41Clearly they were expecting something else out of the defense

25:44and couldn't adjust to make that completion happen.

25:49And he will take it in for a Dolphins touchdown.

25:54Devon Achan.

26:01Set to take over.

26:03If they can score here, they have a chance to make this a three-possession game

26:07and all but put things to bed.

26:14Here's Achan to start the drive.

26:16And he'll get this to the 32.

26:19And for the defense, this is a spot where you don't want to totally sell out to stop the run.

26:23But you do have a pretty good idea of what you're going to see.

26:26And that's good work right there to keep him in check on that first down carry.

26:31On the move to his left.

26:34He's got Dulcich going across the formation.

26:37And he's going to be out of bounds, but not before he takes it inside the 40.

26:41So a first and ten now in Houston territory.

26:45That's the 38.

26:46A give running right.

26:48Achan.

26:49Takes this to the 32, maybe the 31.

26:52And then the defense rallying quickly after that broken tackle.

26:56It's a seven-yard carry to set them up with a second and three.

27:09A-chan here.

27:10They stay on the ground.

27:12And he'll go down here right around the 23-yard line.

27:16Nine yards to pick up there, and it's a first down.

27:19Well, that's a carry they have to be satisfied with.

27:22And throughout this game, they've been satisfied with what he's given them.

27:25Whenever they've needed a big run, a first down, he's the guy they've turned to.

27:30And it doesn't matter what the defense thinks.

27:32They feel like they've got the confidence to keep handing it to them

27:35and keep picking up good yardage.

27:39And that one going to be blown up.

27:41The defense not fooled by the receiver coming around,

27:44and he'll be met behind the line of scrimmage.

27:47Maybe just a slight detour on what's been a strong drive here, second and 11.

27:53Now they'll switch it up here and look to throw.

27:58And, oh, he's unable to hold on to that defensively.

28:02A potential game-changer, but it falls incomplete.

28:06I think he's taking an awful chance with the football right there.

28:09You've got to lead.

28:10You've got to protect it.

28:11And he's taking chances putting it out there in a little bit of jeopardy.

28:14Especially in a spot like this, fourth quarter, as you said,

28:18trying to cling to that advantage.

28:19Yeah, that one probably should have been picked, huh?

28:21And he's not going to get anywhere close to the marker

28:24as he'll stop him well short of the yellow line.

28:27Decided to hand it off that time on the run-pass option.

28:30Appeared to be an easy decision.

28:31Just gave it inside.

28:37The offensive unit now, they get set to take over.

28:41And a few kneel downs should just about do it.

28:44Now, defensively, they do have all three timeouts,

28:46but very little reason to use them at this point.

28:54We've got to have two hands on the football here

28:56as they run on first down.

28:58And whistles them.

29:00We're going to have another stoppage of play

29:01as they call the timeout on defense with 1.53 left.

29:12So, they come up on second down.

29:14If they can get another run like we just saw,

29:17we'll likely put an end to this thing.

29:21He's going to get it again.

29:23Just looking to get through and protect the ball.

29:26Now, the Texans will use one of their two remaining timeouts.

29:29And they'll be disappointed to have to burn one there

29:32after giving up the first down.

29:44Running right.

29:45Here's A-Champ.

29:47And he is going to have a Miami first down.

29:50And the Dolphins are going to win the football game.

29:53The Texans are going to signal for their third and final timeout

29:57as they'll head to the sideline and talk over what to do next.

30:07Offense and their quarterback headed out for this next possession.

30:11And as we show you some of the highlights from earlier,

30:13he has been instrumental in getting his guys the lead

30:17as he looks to finish strong and close this one out.

30:21A give left side.

30:22Here's A-Champ.

30:23This will be a five-yard pickup as they move it from the 20 to the 15.

30:28I like it.

30:29I like the call.

30:30Still an opportunity to run the football

30:32and chew up a little more time off the clock.

30:41A lot of happy faces heading into the tunnel as this one ends.

30:45And understandably so.

30:46Not only did they get the win,

30:48but, boy, their offense was on fire.

30:52And by the way they see the final things in the night,

30:55before they do anything to do with their teammates.
