02:27And yeah, there's been some concerns and questions about this team so far.
02:31I don't think anybody has written this team off by any means, but, you know, I go back
02:37to last year when, when, when, when the Chicago bears came to town for the first time and the
02:42lions, you know, you're going against Ben Johnson and it's personal and it's, you know, this
02:47is a guy in our bill.
02:48We want to prove that, Hey man, you made a bad decision.

05:36I think they've averaged throughout the first two games, 38 minutes of time of possession.

05:52I just think I can't get out of my head that Aaron Glenn, man, like normally when you look
05:59at coaches that come from a tree and I don't know if it's fair to say that Dan Campbell has
06:03a coaching tree yet.
06:04I mean, I know it's Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn, but normally when you come from, uh, the
06:10same, you know, background of, of coaching style, you're going to follow a lot of those
06:16characteristics and watching that game last week against the Packers, there's a minute
06:20left.
06:21The Packers are going fourth down and you just like run the timeout.
06:25It's like, what are you doing, man?
06:27Like, what are you doing here?
06:28And you had a chance to at least like send, send the punt block team out.
06:33If you can get a block punt, Hey, all we need is a field goal.
06:35It's a tie game or get the ball back.
06:37If you're that confident, if you're that confident in your offense, right.
06:39Call a timeout, get the ball back with a minute left.
06:42And Hey, let's see what we can do.
06:44And even in overtime where it's, you know, what was the overtime decision?

06:50Taking the football and said he was going to use all the time.
06:53So green and then you respond and then you start pass, pass, which is, which is, which
06:58is the complete opposite of saying, Hey, we want to possess the ball and run the timeout
07:01and you start pass, pass.
07:03And I think it was sack sack.
07:04And it was just like, that's not indicative of an aggressive style of football coach.
07:09And I know Aaron Glenn is only a year in two games into, you know, his head coaching
07:14tenure, but some, some of the, the, the decisions that he's made have just been like, man, this
07:19is kind of, does it feel like one of the games where, Hey, we just don't have to mess it
07:23up.
07:24Just let them mess it up.
07:25I don't know because he, he is a physical, he is a, he's a disciplined, tough football coach,
07:30but I just haven't, they haven't had enough results yet for me to believe that, um, the
07:37lions aren't the premier team in this matchup.
07:39And that's not saying much because the lions, when I watched that game against Buffalo, when
07:45I watched the game against the saints, I was trying to find reasons to say they are definitively
07:52better in this aspect than they were last year.
07:56Last year, we all knew they were nine and eight last year.
07:58We all knew they, they missed the playoffs, still winning record.

08:02They scored a lot of points.
08:03I was trying to find reasons to say, Oh man, I love this.
08:06I love this change.
08:08I haven't found any yet.
08:09And that's not damning because it's two weeks in and you are playing with three backup offensive
08:16linemen, at least last week against Buffalo, you're playing with three backup guys in the
08:21secondary.
08:22And, and that's not an excuse, but is it a reason for why things have maybe started slow?

08:30And I think that like Kelvin Shepard came out and said, you know, yesterday, they feel like
08:37they have the right guys and I still feel that way too.
08:40I feel like they have the right coaches to at least put their guys in better positions
08:43to have success.
08:45I was kind of curious why Kelvin came out and gave the, you know, two minute monologue at
08:53the beginning of it before he even took a question was just like, I was, I was trying
08:59to be nice.
09:00That was kind of like, okay, this isn't back against the wall and Hey, we got to win this
09:05game where we're eliminated from the playoffs, but you can obviously tell that a lot of the
09:08people down there in Allen park have been hearing a lot of the noise, hearing a lot
09:12of the questions, hearing what people are saying about them.
09:15And it's not concerning to me until I see what they look like over the next, I would
09:22call it three games until you get to that bi-week where you have, where you have, is that
09:27fair?
09:27Where you have this weekend's Jets, I think it's Carolina and then Arizona.
09:31If things settle down, this is a great opportunity for them to start quieting the noise, like
09:36Jared Goff said.
09:37But this is a great opportunity for Kelvin Shepard to start quieting the noise around
09:41his defense as well.
09:42And you have three games before the bi-week, before you start to get some of those reinforcements,
09:49hopefully a Brian Branch, hopefully a Cade Mays.
09:52I'm not even going to say hopefully a Kirby Joseph because I think all of us are on the same
09:56page where Dan Campbell sounds like if he gives us one snap, we'd be happy with that.
10:04Who knows what's going to happen with that?
10:05But if you can get into that bi-week with a little bit of momentum and then get into the
10:09really grind of the season, that's what's really going to tell us who this team is.
10:13Well, they're going to get some class relief.
10:14That's the whole point.
10:15You're not facing elite offenses.
10:17I think Arizona's improved.
10:19Carolina's pretty good.
10:20Now, Carolina's been playing really good.
10:22That's going to be a litmus test.

10:28And look, it's still uneven when you watch it.
10:31He still has plays where you're like, oh my God, this kid's two feet tall.

10:39And my whole point is, this is not one of the games where if it doesn't look at least average
10:46defensively, that's a huge red flag this week.
10:49The Jets are not designed around a high-powered offense.
10:52They're not designed to play on the fast track, indoors, and have to get into the end zone
10:58three, four times.
10:59If you allow that this week, if Geno Smith completes 71% of his passes for 270 yards and
11:05three touchdowns...
