00:09Welcome, Jorge, to From the South.
00:12As you were mentioning, final session of the General Assembly, 20 countries are going to
00:18be participating throughout the session.
00:21Almost half of them from Africa and from our region, Latin America and the Caribbean,
00:26about 20 percent were talking about El Salvador, we are talking about Costa Rica, also Antigua
00:34and Bermuda and Grenada are going to be participating.
00:41Already the people of El Salvador have already made their presentation.
00:48We were understanding that the key issues have been, for example, security, putting
00:56emphasis in the model of security that El Salvador has been implemented with maximum security
01:03jails, a model that we've been trying to export to other countries of the region.
01:10Also his relation, talking about Mr. Bukele, his personal relation with the U.S., very strong
01:19bonds.
01:20And also it was another key issue that has been mentioned in that participation.
01:26There was human rights and what we call in America Latina the rights of immigrations and
01:34immigrants.
01:35An issue that definitely was extremely important in the life of Costa Rica and in the life of
01:43El Salvador.
01:43Costa Rica will be talking later in the day, supposedly in the very final days.
01:49According to the order, it's going to be the 19th speaker.
01:54And regarding the other ones, it's going to be repeated the same thing.
01:58We're going to be bringing the issues like El Salvador did and Costa Rica will repeat it
02:05again.
02:05The climate change, the responsibility in areas like the Caribbean and Central America that
02:12has been hardly hit by storms as a consequence of climate change.
02:17The other countries of Africa and Asia are going to be talking also about the reinforcement
02:24of the United Nations as an institution, the dialogue instead of military attacks.
02:31Most of them are going to condemn the blockade against Cuba.
02:36And also they're going to be condemning the actions of Israel in Palestine, especially
02:43in the Gaza Strip, where they consider that what's going on is a genocide.
