00:00every hockey person will tell you it takes more than just talent to win a stanley cup right if
00:04that were the case like mcdavid would have one by now right but at the start of every hockey season
00:10i like to see just which teams have the most talent maybe not maybe it's not the best fit
00:15maybe there's a coach thing whatever or maybe it is going to work out we've had that on this list
00:19a lot before but instead of okay who's gonna win whatever let's just start the preseason or start
00:24the previews with just a look at who's the most who are the most talented teams in the nhl let's
00:29take a look all right uh quick honorable mentions dallas um is the honorable mention here and vegas
00:40um i just both teams a bit of an issue once you get past the studs they have on on
00:47defense maybe a bit
00:48of a depth issue for for vegas coming into this season i know they just made it to the cup
00:52final
00:53and all of that but um dallas a team that i'm really surprised hasn't really taken that next step this
00:58off season that the um cap is a bit of an issue for them but i do i i still
01:04like these rosters a
01:05lot but coming in at number five is maybe the biggest winner of the off season and that's the
01:09washington capitals when um they've added tuck they've added cairo ovechkin's coming back i do
01:16again worry about maybe a bit of the depth on the blue line for this team but you can go
01:20like one
01:20through nine forward really well and like it's a it's a scary scary hockey team and then to back
01:28it all up you have one of the better goalies in the world um between the pipes for you so
01:31i just
01:31think washington phenomenal offseason has worked their way into one of the best rosters in the nhl
01:37at number four the montreal canadiens speaking of a team that i'm a little surprised didn't do more
01:42this offseason to address that number two center spot the the habs even with that though all the
01:48talent they have out on the wings and at forward just in general they have a blue line that can
01:54go
01:54like eight ten deep when you're talking about young players and you have a goalie situation with dobich
01:59who stole them a number of games in the playoffs last year and this time last year people weren't
02:05even talking about him as goalie of the future um it was montembo who had gone to the four nations
02:10and it was a fowler who was on the way up so they just they have depth at a lot
02:15of places
02:16there is one thing that is keeping them from honestly maybe even rocketing to the top of this
02:20list at number three it's the carolina hurricanes they get onto this list without having that true
02:24blue number one at the tippity top superstar but they do have phenomenal depth everywhere it won them
02:31a stanley cup like just the forward depth basically each round a different forward unit um went out
02:37there and kind of stole the show they're they're able to do that goaltending wise i like i'm not
02:43freddy anderson's biggest fan there is a maybe a bit honestly maybe there isn't even that big of a
02:48drop off there um with him leaving obviously bussy closes the the cup down for them but i just like
02:54defensively they're phenomenal offensively it's such a great unit there's just depth everywhere
02:59for this team so they have to make this list at number two not often do we put a team
03:04that missed
03:05the playoffs last year onto a list but there's no denying the florida panthers last year was obviously
03:10an injury related thing and you look at this group and it's exceptional what they have and adding
03:17brady kachuk to it like come on like there's there's a reason people are pissed off about the tax rules
03:22and everything like that given the roster that the florida panthers are able to have right now
03:26defensively they're really solid i'm not huge on the goaltending so maybe that should have bumped
03:30them down here a little bit but i think the rest of this group like they just have they have
03:33high level
03:34depth everywhere it's just it's such a such an incredible hockey team and number one i still have
03:39colorado um i think when you have a couple of guys who are going to make the top 10 list
03:44for best
03:46players in the nhl and you you supplement them with guys who are also like just in kind of the
03:51next two
03:51or a couple tiers below like it was it was surprising to see them go out in the playoffs the
03:57way they did
03:57but i really like this forward group still i think like schwartz as a third line guy is going to
04:03be
04:03really impactful for them um center depth wise that they added a bunch at the trade deadline and
04:09like cadre sticking around um nelson i thought needed to step up for them last year like yes they
04:14lose a little bit of depth with natchushkin but i still like this team i like this team a lot
04:19nathan mckinnon kale mccarr the two goalies feel interchangeable and not in a bad way i just i think
04:25everywhere you look it's like oh right they're they're really solid all over the place and that's why
04:30colorado is the most talented team in the nhl heading into the 26-27 season what do you guys
