00:03what's good everybody welcome back to another edition of straight out of flushing's your
00:08boy dexter henry alongside my guy tyler ward aka wardy and bringing some good energy despite the
00:14fact that wardy the season is over for the new york mets we've had some time to step away a
00:19little bit we had some busy weekends we are going to debrief we're going to look at the season what
00:24did this season actually prove about the mets what went wrong is the future bright all that good
00:29stuff but first of all my friend as we end the year of september the season is over how are
00:33you
00:34doing i'm doing good dex uh it feels like this wasn't the end of the mets season because we've
00:40known it's really been over since april and i don't say that as a joke as i do a reality
00:45you know what
00:46i mean like i think most mets fans watching this right now dex would be like yeah i've been emotionally
00:50tapped out most of the year so uh i am going to miss certain aspects of watching mets baseball each
00:55day no doubt but i'm anxious and hungry uh to turn the page on what was such a lost season
01:01so early
01:02and to get into what is now next for this team yeah man it's you said april i was thinking
01:07about
01:08it i laughed but i'm like i'm laughing because it's real it really was we we laugh to cope sometimes
01:14yes that's what i was doing yeah yeah exactly what i was doing there i was laughing to cope
01:18i really was all right let's start off with this um you gotta start off with what went wrong
01:25mets finished 74 and 88 last place in the nl east there's a lot of ways you could look at
01:31this
01:34um individual performances not getting to where people thought they would be roster construction
01:42injuries so it could be something else you could put all that stuff together because they all did come
01:47together in some way what what do you think was the biggest failure if you had to pick one
01:51with this team this season i mean in simple terms i would say biggest failure was just roster build
01:59right uh it's hard it's hard to look at any other aspect of the club and not come to that
02:04immediate
02:04conclusion because while maybe you can make the argument that oh the managerial position was the
02:10biggest factor because you look at what the mets were with carlos mendoza versus what they were with
02:15andy green but there's more layers to that and more context and you and i i think can both agree
02:19to that as much as i did not love mendoza as manager i know that he wasn't a fault for
02:24everything
02:24and when you have a roster that was breaking down on you on the inception of the season and that
02:29just
02:29essentially continued throughout a good chunk of the season i mean there's only so much that you can do
02:35so throwing it back to you dex what would you say was the biggest failure of the mets here because
02:39for me there's nothing that sticks out like a a greater sore thumb than david stern's having his
02:43hands on this team more than he ever has before us as talking heads reporters fans buying into this
02:50knowing that he's finally getting a chance to build a roster that he wants and it was nothing short of
02:55a colossal failure all things considered yeah it's hard for me to go against roster construction i'm a
03:01big person that always says warty you know players have agency they got to get it done on the field
03:05etc etc but for this season you can't ignore the roster construction and to me i'm going to specify
03:13a little bit further something that we've talked about the thing to me that was most undervalued
03:18when it came to roster construction this year was undervaluing availability that that was the thing
03:25and to me that's the that's what went wrong there when you have a situation where you relied on i
03:31hate
03:31to pile on this guy again david stern's talked about how the mets are going to have to upgrade at
03:36first
03:36base and we're like yeah of course you do because you're invested in somebody who wasn't available
03:42in jorge polanco that is the biggest thing you david stern's i i again i don't know this but he
03:50can't overthink this this offseason and it feels like when you kind of look back and i know hindsight
03:56is 2020 it feels a little bit warty like he overthought so much of this right he big brained it
04:03is another way i like to say sometimes sometimes you need to you're not going to get everything
04:08guaranteed we talked about this a couple weeks ago but you have to value availability the mets did
04:13not do that and the roster construction was poor and when this didn't go right and when francisco
04:19lindor got injured and when juan soto got injured and all the cards started crumbling and everything
04:24came down you had no foundation of anything good to rely upon so you can say players could have could
04:31perform better you could look at you know bo bichette start to the season and say hey you
04:37know he didn't but he turned things around there were bright spots and we'll get we'll get to that
04:42in a second but at the end of the day to me it's roster construction and not most specifically not
04:49valuing availability that's the biggest thing for me that went wrong with the mets in 2026
04:55yeah availability is a great one and i think there's no better example as to why that likely
05:01is the biggest factor here than when you even hear guys like steve cohen mets owner casually stating
05:06over the past month or so how yeah in hindsight we definitely made a great mistake investing too much
05:13in a risk over reward and when looking at again exactly that the availability of these players you
05:18know that's why that's one of the multiple layers behind why mets fans have been you know
05:23having the reactions in which they did to pete alonzo's return to city field you know we're not
05:28going to harp on that anymore but the point here though is that what pete brings to the table separate
05:32from the home runs and the charismatic personality whether you love it or hate it is really someone
05:37who is going to be out there every single day and not only losing that player who had so much
05:42value
05:43both on and off the field for the organization for over the past half decade but then not doing
05:47anything proper into replacing that individual you know that that's where we find ourselves at
05:53so yeah hey listen david sterns uh spoke to media yesterday that we saw a lot of very david sterns
05:59types remarks um so really it's not like that there's too much uh there to get into but some
06:04of the meat and potatoes you could definitely suggest um had a bit to do with um you know david
06:09even
06:09talking about uh the pete alonzo situation and how he was rather you know forthright in saying how
06:15there's no mulligans in my job um i'm aware of what pete's doing this year and i'm well aware of
06:20where we fell short after space so it's david's way of saying if that's something that he could
06:26have had in hindsight he probably would have maybe approached things differently um and while i'm not
06:32happy with how he operated over the past year i do appreciate again words are fickle until we see
06:38actions speak louder than those words but hearing him state how there's multiple aspects of our processes
06:45and how we evaluate players in our attempt to land players from last off season and years prior that
06:52we have to adjust and do differently uh you know simply put we made we made too many mistakes
06:57with our free agent signings a year ago and that simply can't happen again um so he knows his uh
07:04part of my french his ass is on the line uh he was asked by our friend here i believe
07:08at the post of
07:09mike puma about his job certainty uh next year which i i feel like mike's asked david at least
07:14half a dozen times this season uh throughout the course of the year to which david replied you know
07:19that you know i'm i'm always dealing with pressure you know this is something that i've i've had to
07:25accept and that'll be the case not this pressure yeah i agree i agree i i don't think david had
07:31the
07:31level of pressure um that he has present day as he did at the start of him being hired as
07:36president
07:37obviously i think he feels the pressure from cohen i think he feels the pressure obviously from the
07:42fan base i mean that goes without saying when you have chance you know saying fire sterns at the games
07:47um but i think david is someone who probably wants to get this right not just for cohen and for
07:55the fact
07:55that this is his job but i feel like there's an ego aspect of this where it's like i need
07:59to get this
08:00right because this is also my childhood favorite team like this was my dream job and the fact that
08:05i'm swan to miss this bad this early like it has to change or else you know obviously he's not
08:10going
08:11to be here anymore this is the do or die season for um him deck so not to get on
08:15this complete tangent
08:16from our initial talking point uh but i think it's important to highlight how when we get into next year
08:21and how david is going about some processes differently i think this pressure is is undoubtedly
08:28going to make or break him in regards to how he operates this offseason how drastically different
08:33is he in his operation right you know when we talk about oh is david going to be acting this
08:37way or is
08:38he going to be that way well i really hope it's not the same way he has been because he's
08:43only going
08:43to shoot himself in the foot when he finds himself fired halfway through 2027 after another poor roster
08:49build for the new york mats like there there needs to be ways to learn from those mistakes to look
08:54in
08:54the mirror and have that self-reflection and say okay this isn't working we have to do something
08:59different so between the between the fall the hire and the more hires are expected to come
09:05surrounding david in the front office one would hope that these are extended helping hands and it
09:10helped him actually have any different thought process than what has been the case in recent years
09:16as president yeah i think you know i'll just you know talked about availability i think what david
09:20stern's what you bring up there um before we move on is you know what's his adaptability going to be
09:26you can love what he said at the presser and i don't fault any mets fan for saying this warty
09:31but at the end of the day it's going to be show me we got to see um i think
09:37talking is good and i
09:38think you know the first thing in any kind of change is you got to accept uh you know responsibility
09:43you
09:43have to see things that didn't work and then be willing to be open-minded and change but then you
09:47got
09:48to go do it um and so the proof will be in the pudding the proof will be in what
09:51this team does in
09:522027 we will judge in this offseason we will evaluate and look at the moves david sterns makes
09:59or does not make and we'll have our opinions on it and just like we did last year but at
10:03the end of
10:04the day it's going to come down to the results in the field and do they work or not do
10:08those moves
10:08work or not we will see he i like hearing the accountability that's nice i'm not i don't want
10:14to poo poo that because you do have that is the first step but but you gotta go out and
10:21really do
10:22it and really be about it and if we start hearing whispers or anything that uh you know i'm not
10:28saying
10:28it'll be like this but hey david sterns is not maybe listening to the other people in the front office
10:33that they're bringing in beside falvey right which i think was a good move and you want to bring in
10:38different voices we've talked about that already we'll see we'll see time will tell however i will
10:44say this while things went wrong with the mets in 2027 i do think there were some things you could
10:50be excited about for your mets fan to build on excuse me what went wrong with the mets in 2026
10:54i misspoke
10:55there can be some things you could be excited for them to build on in 2027 so wardy i'm asking

11:00this which players or i also had developments gave you the strongest reason to believe in the mets
11:07actually being successful in 2027 and i'm gonna say this just when we're clear when we talk about
11:11success in 2027 we are talking about the new york mets being back in the playoffs nothing else i don't
11:18want to talk here playoff contention no it's back in the playoffs that's what we're talking about so
11:26what are two developments or players that you saw go down this season that makes you say hey
11:32this makes you feel like the team could be back strong well if we're going we'll do it in two
11:37different ways we'll do two players and we'll do two developments from the players i think it's just
11:42easy to pick the two biggest standouts of you know young players and that's mclean and bench so i think
11:49they're absolutely two that we look at when we look at we knew to an extent what we were getting
11:54heading into the year with nolan but he need to prove it in the full 162 and benj there was
11:58all this
11:59excitement and this proper build up by david sterns as well who again david missed the mark on a lot
12:04and hyping certain players up and their value to the team but he did not miss the mark on the
12:08guy
12:09that he drafted two years ago in the first round out of osu fellow teammate of nolan mclean as well
12:13mind you so i think it's fitting to have them as a two players but the two develop developments i
12:18think
12:18are as follows it's the first development that it was a tale of two seasons entirely and the second
12:24development is that the first development happened in direct hand because of the mets new manager
12:30and i think let's start with the tale of two seasons right because this was a mets team that
12:36entered the year with of course lofty expectation failed to meet that expectation as a surprise to no
12:42one if we've been paying attention year in a year out to this club um and then the injuries obviously
12:47were massive mounted from polanco to lindor to soto to robert it was one thing after another for a
12:55mets lineup that was the worst of baseball for the majority of the first half of the season uh then
13:00we obviously get throughout the course of the year and guys are starting to get healthier again
13:05and you're seeing you know this trend of positivity coming from the psychos in the outfield from
13:11obviously bench to then eventual aj ewing to then the continued blossoming and the rotation of noah
13:17mcclain who in the first half had an up down he had a really strong month and a really bad
13:22month and
13:22he was really able to put together as we got a little midway and then past june and then you
13:27saw
13:28scott the eventual call-up of zach thornton post david peterson trade and you know down the line at the
13:34end of the year ton and seeing the value that these youngsters can have and bringing positivity and
13:38energy to the club but then it's the andy green impact behind all this right you know you look at
13:44a roster from mendoza to andy it's not like a drastically change it's not like the mets massively
13:50upgraded to faith and you could argue that they downgraded because they traded every solid veteran
13:55reliever not named devon williams out of their bullpen at the deadline and yet they still managed to
14:00have success and play around 500 ball really from that point onward uh for the remainder of the year
14:06so you know we talked again about uh the the manager and the factor behind it and again just
14:11having that change in voice and direction above all i think really resonated well with this club
14:16which is typically the case with teams that need a fresh voice in the clubhouse when things are not
14:20going right for a counter year plus who would have thought you know only me and everyone else with
14:24with eyes but the good news though here dex is that there's a lot of positives to look at from
14:31the smats team and it's hard to just narrow it down to just bench and mcclain because i think
14:38transparently with the exception of wanting to bolster this lineup a little bit more to find more power
14:44in it which we'll get into i'm sure uh this is a team that has a lot of things already
14:49kind of set
14:50in stone for next year um now are these things a certainty no and what we should expect and that's
14:56why
14:56it's always important to um shoot above your weight when it comes to adding and adding depth
15:02it's imperative and stearns did relay that in his presser on how the mets need to do a better job
15:07on
15:07positioning themselves where they just have the proper depth where they can continue to handle
15:11every situation thrown at them which he has fallen short on we've seen him fall short on by thinking
15:16that we can get away with certain guys in these positions that just don't deserve to be at the
15:21major league level like the zach shorts in the world for stretches of time what have you sorry zach
15:25nothing personal but war you shoot straight out of this yeah my point out of this though is that
15:31uh the mets have a lot to look upon from 2026 and say yeah it was a failed season 74
15:36and 88 is an
15:37absolute joke but two completely different years and throwing it back to you i i feel like you can
15:44attest to that most certainly yeah no i will say that uh it's hard when you're picking two players
15:50it's hard to not go with carson bench or nolan mcclain you know carson bench with the 2020 season
15:57you know and for me when i think about him in particular the thing i'm always going to think about
16:02with this rookie season was how it started and then how it finished you got the home run and opening
16:09day it was amazing so glad i got to see that before i went under for surgery got i know
16:15i wish you
16:16were there with me i i had joel on my right and andy on my left and i jumped i
16:20jumped out of my seat
16:21and sat right back down i didn't make a voice that was my jumping up already jumping up in the
16:27press box
16:27i wish i got to see that too um there were some people clapping though i think because it was
16:33an
16:33opening day and like everyone in baseball media was there you had some people that really didn't
16:38care they're like oh that's a cool moment so yeah i think listen we're still fans and still root
16:43for moments and we still want to see good things and then you saw the young man struggle after that
16:48you saw him struggle after that and to mightily mightily and and i always said we'll say this
16:54and i remember you saying this in our spring training shows about how much you were impressed
17:00with the mentality when you were talking to people around him how much they talked about that so that
17:05mental fortitude to stay up at the major league level to fight back to then have the numbers that he
17:10finishes the season with hitting over 280 hitting 20 home runs stealing 22 bases you know getting on
17:16base about 35 percent of the time seeing all that that he was able to do was wildly impressive and
17:21then mcclain you know you had to get people coming into the season talking about oh well he could be
17:27a
17:27you know challenge for si young and he could he could do that and i was always like hey man
17:30let's let's
17:31let's pump the brakes on that let's just see this young man bounce back for he's going to have
17:36some starts where he gets roughed up the league's going to adjust him how's he going to adjust back
17:40and he saw that i think with those two guys in particular what i'm talking about is you saw the
17:44mental toughness through some challenges they had through the season and he still were able to
17:47produce where you're like okay they're here and they look like they should be cornerstones of this
17:52franchise now in terms of developments where i'm with you on this is is a couple things we have
18:01been critical of things for david stearns but i gotta and whether this was his call
18:06or whether this was a steve cohen call or a combination of both whatever i do have to give
18:10the mets some credit on this you were beating the drum in late april i remember early may hey
18:16carl's mendoza it's time it's time man and i gotta get maybe you could have said the mets should have
18:23done it earlier and that's fine but they did say hey this isn't working this is a sunk cost we
18:28got to
18:29move on i think that matters and the reason at the end and now the decision to go with andy
18:35green
18:35whether they went with andy green or not but i still thought it mattered if you want to build on
18:40something for the next season well and you see something's not working it made sense to make the
18:45clean break and start trying to build good habits and mindset that does not just go for the front
18:52office it goes for the manager it goes for the entire clubhouse goes for the players once they get on
18:56the field the mets at least tried starting the process of saying hey this is what we're going to
19:01do and i think that matters so much if they are going to have a good 2027 so that to
19:06me was a huge
19:07development the other thing for me when you talk about the andy green of it all was him saying i
19:13am
19:13going to have accountability and we keep using a lot of a words here right as long as they're the
19:20right a words that's right right right we're not getting no harsh a words here we're not we're not
19:24doing that but i'm going to have accountability and i'm going to legitimately give young players
19:29a chance to prove themselves going forward i think that was a huge development in terms of actual
19:36development for players right like you needed to see this you needed to see and give a shot and then
19:42when i talk about the accountability i loved what he talked about with mark vientos at the end of the
19:46season i love the way he handled kodai singa and the opportunities he got in the closing role
19:52and what his role could look like next year possibly out of the pen a very expensive reliever but
19:58now i might have confidence to be a good reliever out the pen i think the developments of just actually
20:04having development and actually having accountability and the mets not sticking with the sun costs cost
20:10wasn't working and i hope my hope is going forward warty that that mindset can be going forward
20:19throughout this organization that hey something doesn't work we're not we don't have to sit in
20:24this we don't have to act like we don't see it doesn't work it's okay we're going to move on
20:28we're
20:29going to pivot we're going to be the big p word that warty likes to use proactive you saw the
20:34starts of
20:35some proactivity with the mets i don't know if that's going to continue going forward but i hope
20:40that it does and so for me when it comes to developments it was just the accountability
20:45and the proactive proactiveness to actually try to develop players going forward to see what you
20:50had for 2027 so you can actually make some real decisions this offseason and you have to wonder
20:56um how drastically different that would have been if the mets brought someone else in the interim role
21:00right because andy was initially hesitant to even accept it uh if not heavily reluctant so
21:06bringing someone that was working in met's player development the way that he was already having a
21:11certain rapport and relationship with a number of the players that we just got into um he had a
21:16springboard you know when it came to i think you know a i think a better wording here would be
21:21you
21:22know a sprint of a start to this when we look at these young players and not only resonating well
21:29with
21:29them but i think from the relationships that he had already previously built it made it seamless
21:35for him to have this dugout and clubhouse interaction with them and then that naturally seeped into
21:40not only holding the young players accountable but holding the veteran players accountable and you
21:45could kind of see how they converged into this one thing and that's why you had many mets players
21:50going either way to state prior to andy being officially extended by the mets's manager and i'm
21:55accepting that role uh that yeah andy is what i want in the manager i mean we even literally have
22:00bo bichette who's on record stating that andy's like the best manager he's ever had in his career
22:05it's kind of a it's kind of a big deal to hear from your 42 million dollar a year man
22:10so stuff like
22:11that goes a long way and it's a testament to andy and his immediate impact he's had on the club
22:16both young players with development and also development with uh veterans because as you say all the
22:22times x you know development isn't always linear you know these are things that can of course change
22:27as time goes on and you can see guys have the best aspects of their careers later in their careers
22:33if they're just a part of the right clubhouse the right environment and a manager that believes in
22:38them and maybe that they weren't believed in in previous years so all these things make for
22:43excitement and also a lot of intrigue and most certainly cautious optimism as we get into
22:49how does this how does this team handle greater expectations actual expectations with this same
22:56manager as we get into whatever next season is going to begin yeah that is going to be the big
23:01question i guess the last thing i want to wrap on with you that i'm very curious because
23:05wardy and i are going to have a lot of offseason content coming your way there's a lot of things
23:09to talk about things we're going to look at we're going to share with the fans and we want to
23:12hear from
23:12you but if you go as we go into this offseason following the season of disappointment my friend
23:18what do you think is the mets top offseason priority what's the number one thing the mets must do
23:22this offseason if there's nothing else they got to do they got to do this one thing what are you
23:27saying
23:28the one thing the mets have to do this offseason you asked me this essentially a week ago and i
23:34said
23:34they have to make sure that they have a gm it appears that they're going in that direction even
23:40though there might not be an official label there so right i'm gonna put i'm gonna put that aside
23:44that's why i'm re-asking it because of this yes that's fine so i would say the the number one
23:49thing
23:49the mets i think need to do right this offseason when i'm looking at the entire roster and what i
23:56think
23:56this team needs most from offense to rotation to bullpen this is a really difficult question
24:06i'm stuck between two different things right now i'm trying to think what would what would provide
24:11the mets more value and i think i need to actually go in the direction of where the mets fell
24:17most short
24:17on this year and it wasn't the rotation the mets were top 11 in their pitching staff in baseball this
24:22year collectively from the rotation to their bullpen and fan graphs is ones above replacement
24:27the rotation really was a stronghold for them throughout great stretches of the season as was
24:33the bullpen i think it is imperative that the new york mets have to add one certainty of a bat
24:41a bat
24:41that's going to bring power that is a lock to give you anywhere from 20 to 40 home runs a
24:47season
24:47they need certainty they need availability and whether that is not available in the free agent
24:51market it might be more available in the trade market and potentially someone that can actually
24:55give you more stability at that first base position what i'm trying to say is dex is it would be
25:00great
25:00if after missing and certainly missing completely on the pete alonzo situation from this past year
25:08let's get it right this time around okay you can't bring pete back so what can you do to supplement
25:14the
25:14power that you lost and also add and lengthen a lineup that i think has all the makings of being
25:19a lethal one next year but can only be lethal i think if you have a proper balance of what
25:25they
25:25currently have along with what they still need wait you don't want to run it back with jorge polanco
25:29that's is that what you're saying i thought you would want to do that my friend dex as tempting and
25:34as salivating as i thought is i think i'm gonna go in the direction of a for a polanco never
25:39step foot
25:39on city field ground again i would be content with it um and that's not a that's not a personal
25:44slide against jorge i'm just someone that is very fed up with the lack of availability um with any
25:49type of player um especially when david stern's essentially set him up for failure i mean i think
25:55both things can be true in the polanco absolutely i think polanco absolutely is someone who didn't
26:00have the year they want to have and i think he's a good guy i think that he wanted to
26:03thrive i mean
26:04i believe his father if not his uncle's from new york and that went in hand as to why he
26:07wanted to come
26:08the queens along with you know like the guaranteed 20 mil gross a year for a couple years which is
26:12gross looking in hindsight uh but pairing that with also knowing that david stern's really had the
26:19thought process that oh yeah we're gonna bring this guy in and have him do something he really
26:22hasn't done much at all his professional career i mean i was hyping up dex the bar was so low
26:27i i was discussing it and trying to validate that decision by breaking down highlight videos of
26:34jorge polanco's pre-game infield work working at first base before mariners games last year
26:39wait wait wait wait that is that's the only how did i miss evidence we had how did i miss
26:45this you
26:45actually did that of course they did dex because i did my homework i was like why why in god's
26:51name
26:51are we signing this guy to potentially do your homework you figure it out i found that doesn't sound like
26:57homework mid last summer and he was literally taking grounders at first i was explaining how
27:02part of the thought process according to the mets was that oh he's been working on his defensive
27:07first base reps pre-game for the past season you know what we're gonna buy into that as a first
27:12option that yes that does not sound like homework you know what that sounds like my friend that
27:17sounds like you were trying to convince yourself of something you knew that wasn't right that's what
27:22it sounds like i'm not judging you for it because we've all done this before so i there's no
27:28the case of polanco of no no just like i said a couple minutes ago i'll say it again both
27:34things
27:34can be true okay fair fair that's fair that's that's more than fair you're right it's more than
27:42fair all right so here so you you bring this good point right about the pitching and you look at
27:48where
27:49the mets pitching was this season right and it was not the reason for them i'm still gonna go as
27:55the
27:56number one thing i think they need to do this offseason is go get themselves a front line
27:59starter whether it's the ace that's fine i want you to pick that yeah yeah the reason why i'm there
28:04it's not that your logic isn't sound i'm not really disagreeing with you because i think your logic is
28:08sound to add some power in the lineup um i don't and i see what you're saying i'm gonna go
28:13back to
28:13something i said a couple weeks ago my thing is going to be while i'm bullish on this mets pitching
28:20and the young pitching i don't want to put too much pressure on this young pitching to feel like
28:25that's completely valid and so that's my thing i think you should be optimistic about what the
28:31mets did this year in terms of pitching you should like the development of christian scott you should
28:35like what you saw from nolan mcclain um for sure you should like what you saw from zach thornton you
28:41should like all that stuff and even jonathan how he pitched towards the end of the season i think
28:45there's some reason for optimism there and see what he does in the winter going into the spring
28:48but i just i think just alleviating some of that pressure it can be good and as we say two
28:54things
28:54can be true i will also add maybe even though warty and i picked different things as the mets top
29:01offseason priority i don't think either of us agree disagree excuse me with each of the others and uh
29:07maybe the mets could do both and that would be a pretty dope offseason maybe they add some power to
29:12the lineup that isn't bringing warty's boy jorge palanco back or they can also add a pitcher as well too
29:18that makes you feel good about this starting rotation going into 2027 so i think two things
29:22could be true what i hope for warty and myself is that we are not sitting here if there is
29:28going to

30:59came to the jets which is one of the most insane things i've ever covered in my life

31:10having done that with the mets you'd have some interesting things to talk about that that'd

31:43sure he is not doing some offseason videos that's similar to the jorge polanco stuff we don't want
31:48that for him so we're making sure that does not happen this offseason we gotta make sure that we gotta
31:53make sure we take care of our guy and that doesn't happen where would i be without you dexter

32:03wanted to do more of this season that we are hoping to do more of next season just to let

32:07know and that will happen but we're gonna have fun through the offseason because this is what we're

32:25thoughts for me is again dex thank you so much for not only being an awesome co-host throughout
32:29the course of the year uh first time officially doing this like full time with you but also just
32:34want to thank you for being a great friend as well i mean it feels like yesterday that uh you

32:38had connected for the for the first time it feels like i don't know two and a half three years
32:42ago
32:43yeah it's it's it's been a hot minute time has definitely been flying on mine as i'm sure it has
32:48been
32:48for you and it just it's really cool and it's humbling to look back on the first time that we
32:53did
32:53segments together to fast forward to um what we were able to get started this year um officially
32:58doing this together and to your point yeah there's a lot of things that uh we fell short on not
33:03purposely but because the mets unfortunately fell short so um unfortunately when your team again
33:08um has everything awry like your first month of the year it really does throw a massive wrench
33:13into the plans and you can ask anyone in this industry they'll tell you the same thing
33:17if the team's winning oh we can do x y and z we can do all this if the team's
33:21losing well
33:22we could do x y and z but it's like people aren't really gonna care you know because everyone's
33:27already emotionally tapped out so god willing as we get into 2027 not only is there a season
33:33but be an exciting one for this match team you know i'm not expecting them to win every game but
33:37i
33:37just want an entertaining season where we can buy in as fans and also really come together as a
33:43community that's something that i take a lot of pride in with what i built on youtube on
33:47wordy nym as is and i'm excited to do more of that from not only you know my following but
33:52pairing
33:52that with the great following that we're building here um at the post so dex again thank you so much
33:57for what was a great year and what was otherwise a lost year for a new york mets team and

34:02hungry to get into i think it's going to be an exciting offseason for us to break down yeah there
