00:05future relations with the European Union around a planned UK-EU summit later this year.
00:11Speaking at the Labour Party's annual conference in Liverpool on Tuesday,
00:15the British Premier argued that a clear strategy on the UK's long-term relationship with the Bloc is vital.
00:21Control over immigration was weakened when we lost collaboration with our European partners
00:27and we are still having to work hard to bring it back. Later this year there will be a UK
00:32-EU summit
00:33where one of the issues on the agenda will be how we best work together on immigration.
00:40Beyond that we will work to secure gains for our British industries most harmed by Brexit.
00:45Conference, these are important concrete steps but they are not enough. I say this to you and the country,
00:52we will not give Britain the clear path we need into the rest of this century until we decide
00:58on a long-term relationship with what is still our largest market.
