00:28The Daily Juice was live, and we talked a lot about the offense for Philadelphia up against this Bears defense
00:34that gave up 30-plus points to the Panthers.
00:38Their offense scored 59 points that game, but their defense gave up a ton of points.
00:41Then the next week against the Vikings, they played pretty well, but they lost because they lost 9-3 because
00:46their offense couldn't do anything.
00:47And then they were without not just one quarterback, but two quarterbacks last night.
00:51And they found a way to get a win in decisive fashion.
00:56The Eagles were never in that game late yesterday.
00:59The Eagles got blown out.
01:00And I think it has more to do to me, it has more to do with the Eagles than it
01:05does what's going on in Chicago.
01:07So, look, being 2-1 is 2-1, and okay, that's great.
01:10So, you get the win in the opener.
01:12Most likely you get Caleb back next week, maybe the week after.
01:17You have a spot start from a backup quarterback.
01:20And what's really wild about backup quarterbacks right now in the NFL is that backup quarterbacks have done extremely well.
01:29Backup quarterbacks are 6-0 this year.
01:316-0 this year, starting for their week one replacement.
01:36Now, if you are someone who's looking at storylines or defensive teams not knowing what to do, that's a pretty
01:46wild stat that you go 6-0 in terms of starters who are out, and the backup comes in, and
01:54the backup has gone 6-0 straight up, including last night.
01:57So, Case Keenum, short-term, I mean, that's a very experienced quarterback who you can slide in.
02:05And it was the first time that Ben Johnson has ever played with a backup quarterback in the NFL as
02:11a coordinator or a head coach.
02:13So, and if you listen to the broadcast, they had talked to Ben Johnson about his feelings around the quarterback
02:20position, and he was completely comfortable with Case Keenum playing.
02:23And that was because he knew something clearly.
02:27They could have had Badge in play, but he did not, he wasn't there for the install.
02:34So, it was like, hey, you're the emergency quarterback, and we're not going to have you be there because you
02:40have not gone through the whole game plan.
02:42Case Keenum has.
02:43He's experienced.
02:44He knows what he's doing.
02:45And the Eagles defense has got some really big problems, some really, really big problems going on here for Philadelphia.
02:53And I'll give Ben Johnson a ton of credit.
02:56He had a really good game plan.
02:57They ran the ball, but they didn't run the ball exclusively.
03:00They used Keenum.
03:01They used the offense that Ben Johnson likes to run.
03:04He spread the ball around to a ton of different receivers.
03:08And that Eagle team now has to look itself in the mirror and go, all right, offensively, I know Saquon
03:15didn't look like Saquon.
03:17And whatever, it's a shoulder injury in some form or fashion.
03:19They're calling it a stinger, but it feels a lot more than just a stinger.
03:24And Wicks wasn't used.
03:26He was targeted four times.
03:27He had two catches.
03:28I thought he'd have a lot more than that.
03:30But the offense just couldn't move the football against the Bears.
03:33And so, yeah, this is kind of the narrative that Ben Johnson owns Vic Fangio.
03:38So far, yeah.
03:40I mean, if I'm an Eagles fan, I have some real big questions about what's going on.
03:48I have some real big issues about what's going on.
03:50And I'm like, hold on a second.
03:52How are we?
03:53What happens going forward for this team?
03:56And it feels like every year we get here with the Eagles and we start asking about the head coach
04:00and the quarterback.
04:01But they play the Rams coming up this week.
04:04Then they play the Jaguars.
04:05Then they play the Panthers.
04:07Then they play the Cowboys.
04:08We're going to know a lot about the Eagles over the next month.
04:11Like, they have four very big football games coming up.
04:15And they've got to figure out what this offense is going to look like.
04:20So I think that's a big deal.
04:22That's a big problem in my mind.
04:23When you look at the big picture, I'm worried.
04:28If I'm an Eagles fan, I'm worried about what's going on right now, given the schedule that they've got.
04:33I don't think, as some have called it, an embarrassing loss to the Bears.
04:39I think the Bears are a decent football team.
04:41I don't think they're the Titans.
04:42I don't think that they're the Dolphins.
04:48But 27-7, that's what the Eagles should not be losing on Monday Night Football by 20.
04:53to the Bears.
04:55And they shouldn't be held to single digits against that Bears defense on top of that.
05:00So for the most part, the Bears have fixed their defense.
05:03And that's been a pretty big, after what happened in week one, that's a pretty big storyline for them going
05:10forward.
05:10In particular, with the nasty weather about to hit.
05:13That's pretty big.
05:15So Eagles fans, I would be concerned.
05:18I would be concerned about where that team is at the moment and what that team is going to look
05:24like in the next month.
05:25Because your schedule is not going to be easy by any means.
