00:01Now, back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:30I didn't know Willard.
00:30Depends who you ask, I mean.
00:32So will Fillmore Mike now get Willard a card?
00:34Yeah, no doubt.
00:35Will, you there.
00:36Will got hip-hop knowledge, too.
00:38Yeah.
00:39You knew your boy.
00:40I know, Matt.
00:41Matt in San Jose is a dog, man.
00:44First of all, he's a great Bay Area sports fan.
00:47And you can catch him at a Sharks game as quick as you catch him at a Niner game.
00:50But he's a good dude, and don't let him in this building because it takes your job.
00:54Dude.
00:54He's a talented kid.
00:55But he said Fillmore, B.
00:57I thought he was from Fillmore.
00:57No, we're talking about different colors.
00:59I'm talking about the one that was swinging, that was singing to you.
01:01No, that was Sweet Black.
01:03The one.
01:03The one that was 70 years old.
01:05No, but the one who just called in like a half hour ago started singing about the Super Bowl.
01:10Yeah, that.
01:11That's Matt.
01:11We only had one.
01:13Well, then.
01:14I wasn't listening until.
01:16I couldn't listen to this.
01:17Okay.
01:17I wasn't listening until the drive-in.
01:18So this had to be.
01:19I was grandy-handed.
01:21We just had a caller calling his thing.
01:23Then we had a guy come in at freestyle.
01:25Yeah.
01:25No, that wasn't Willard's guy.
01:27That wasn't Willard's guy.
01:27Matt San Jose had a good call.
01:28It might have been bad.
01:29Yeah, now I'm confused.
01:30But whatever.
01:31We're all confused.
01:31Anyway.
01:32Hi, Tim.
01:32I'm not confused.
01:34I'm very clear about what happened to me.
01:37What happened to me?
01:38I mean, Fillmore Mike joined you guys.
01:40And I love it when it's, you know, the two of you and Fillmore Mike is always there for it.
01:45And the praise is worthy.
01:46And he's giving out cards.
01:48And I'm kind of, you know, whatever, waiting for maybe my card.
01:52And I mean, somebody else on the station got a card.
01:54I was like, okay.
01:55All right.
01:56I'm just going to text Fillmore Mike.
01:58So I was like, Fillmore?
02:00I mean, did you, I don't know.
02:02Did you forget you bought the Dipper?
02:03You're a personal V.
02:04So he's Fillmore Mike and you're FOMO Mike.
02:07All right.
02:08Apparently I'm Moraga Mike.
02:10Struggling.
02:10That's a four.
02:11And I told him, I'm like, hey, I mean, I guess I moved through the tunnel.
02:14I must have left that behind.
02:15Must have lost the card and the divorce.
02:17I get it.
02:17The other guy who got the card, I'll just say it.
02:20Spadoni.
02:20This is an upset in the air.
02:23It was for the Raiders.
02:24I think you get one automatically when you root for the Raiders.
02:27Okay, there you go.
02:27Yeah, card's a card.
02:28From Pacific Grove.
02:30I talked to one of my diehard Raider fans earlier on the drive-in and he started one
02:36of his sentences with, I don't believe in moral victories, but, and I don't believe in
02:40moral victories either, but you know what, Raiders?
02:43You lost in that fashion?
02:44No doubt about it.
02:45Like, I'm not going to think that you're going to lose eight in a row.
02:48Like, that was legit.
02:49Legitimizing.
02:50Absolutely.
02:51They can play.
02:52And Fernando Mendoza, if there's no injury, he's not playing this year.
02:55There's no doubt about it.
02:56He's not going to play.
02:57And speaking of, that's not a gimme game for the Niners.
02:59He's in Levi's with the way the Raiders are playing.
03:02Yeah.
03:02I'm giving Denver and Vance Joseph all the credit in the world because I know how lethal
03:07this Niner offense is.
03:09I'm just telling you guys, they lost.
03:11I was impressed with what I saw Denver do.
03:15And the Niners didn't fold.
03:17They didn't force it.
03:19They were patient.
03:20Brock was.
03:20But for Denver to be 3-3 and a half with what I think of this Niner offense, I don't
03:26know
03:26why you guys looking at me like, well, Denver almost went to the Super Bowl and shut out
03:29the Rams.
03:30It legitimately, like, Denver can play.
03:32And I saw that because you don't just do that to the Niner offense every Sunday.
03:37So, I'm giving Denver some credit.
03:39I love it when wins have different personalities.
03:41You need that.
03:42You know what I mean?
03:43Like, I worked at USC when Pete Carroll was there cheating and doing all that stuff.
03:47So, vision.
03:48And every game looked the same.
03:50It was like, is it 42-10 or is it 41-7?
03:54Every game looked the same.
03:55And that's not real life.
03:57Do you know what I mean?
03:58There you go.
03:58Like, so, I dug the fact.
04:00No doubt.
04:00That this was a different sort of a challenge.
04:03And they passed it.
04:04Will, I thought you were going to come for me for that.
04:06I told Monte this was different and they needed it.
04:09No.
04:09These type of wins build calluses in character.
04:12And the way they felt that during the game.
04:14Now, they moved on from the win, surprisingly, like, less than an hour after the game.
04:18They already think about Seattle.
04:19They're like, yeah, we've moved on to Seattle.
04:22Like, what?
04:22Wait.
04:23Where's the 24-hour rule?
04:25They're like, no, we're thinking about the team in the Pacific Northwest.
04:27But a game like that.
04:28Yeah.
04:29Grimy.
04:31Hard-hitting.
04:32Man.
04:32Physical.
04:33You've got to really go out there and earn it.
04:35You've got guys playing hurt dibs.
04:37Mike Evans can't even breathe.
04:38He's grabbing at his rib.
04:39He catches five passes for 76.
04:42Almost all does his thing.
04:43Those wins do build character.
04:45And you'll look back at that saying, yeah, that was a pivotal win for us to go 4-0 and
04:49sweep the homestand.
04:49And I'll say it's the best win of the year so far.
04:52And, like, the Rams are everyone's Super Bowl favorite.
04:5517-0.
04:56They're not going to be touched.
04:57And, well, they went to Australia the way they did.
04:59And the Niners beat them up no matter what their travel plans were.
05:03That was a good, solid, decisive win.
05:05But Denver comes in really cut from the same cloth.
05:08We're going to run it down your throat.
05:10We're going to hit you hard.
05:11And that game was hat on hat all game long.
05:14Man.
05:14And then you got to Saran Neal, who somehow, and I didn't even know this.
05:18What do we all think of that, dibs?
05:19Mark, you know me.
05:20I'm referee dibs.
05:21Yeah, talk to me about that one.
05:23Come on, man.
05:23I love the rule book.
05:24I did not know that the wrist and the forearm were different as it pertains to down by contact.
05:31No, see, I did, but at full speed.
05:34I got to give my daughter credit on this one because the first slow-mo, I'm like, no.
05:39He's down.
05:40He's down.
05:41So did I.
05:41She goes, no, it's not his.
05:43Dad, you said his elbow.
05:44His elbow's not down.
05:46His hand is down.
05:47The ball comes up, and then the elbow hits, and then my son jumps in.
05:51And she's like, no, you're wrong.
05:52And so then they start fighting because that's what kids do.
05:55And meanwhile, they're arguing and couldn't hear the ref go, the call has been confirmed.
06:00I couldn't believe it.
06:01I like your right.
06:02And they even said, like, it's forearm, not even elbow.
06:05Like, where does the wrist no longer become the forearm?
06:08It was incredible.
06:08And so I'm watching that, and I was thinking the same thing.
06:11I mean, your kids were like, he's down.
06:13No doubt about it.
06:15On down, ball out, he's down.
06:16But apparently the forearm is different than wrist.
06:19Well, Bivs Jr., you look at his body language.
06:21Oh, he looked like the guy who fumbled.
06:24No doubt.
06:25He went straight to the sideline.
06:26He's sitting on the bench.
06:27He's just like, ah, he's sulking.
06:29Because the game was so physical.
06:30And the players will sometimes tell you, like, oh, yeah, that was a fumble.
06:33Yeah, that was a penalty.
06:35Yeah, they screwed up there.
06:36So a pivotal buzz.
06:37And then you got in third down, I believe.
06:40Like, it took third down to get in.
06:41Oh, it always was going to – I mean, that's why the Niners are so good right now is because
06:48of what they do on third down.
06:49It's just – it's been going on for two years now.
06:52It's why they were 12-5 without all their people last year.
06:56It's why the Eagles suck.
06:57They got none yesterday.
06:59None.
07:00Zero third downs.
07:010 for 11.
07:02Yeah, unbelievable.
07:04They had three turnovers on downs.
07:08Worst coaching performance that I can – I'm not –
07:13They took points off the board two weeks in a row, Sirianni.
07:1635 years of watching sports.
07:18Wow.
07:18I have never been that offended by a coach of a game that – I mean, I didn't have a
07:24dog in that fight.
07:25Sure, I don't root for the Rams, but I don't like the Eagles either.
07:27Will, this is a true story.
07:28I've never seen someone make decisions like that.
07:30Dante's turned me on, Dibs, to Seth Joyner after the games.
07:34Not on WEP, whatever their station is.
07:37It's just his own little YouTube IP.
07:38He's got a gun.
07:39And I said, I got to dial it up.
07:41What did he say?
07:42Just Sirianni.
07:43He went in on Sirianni.
07:44Just, I mean, like an hour worth of just blaming everything and taking the points off the board.
07:50He said, you don't know football if you blame Jalen Hurts on that.
07:52If I read this to you, you wouldn't believe me.
07:55If I just read to you, okay, you don't know anything.
07:59You're up by 10.
08:00Yeah.
08:01There's 731 to go in the football game.
08:03They're looking pretty good.
08:05It's fourth and goal from the two.
08:07You have not succeeded on any third downs all day.
08:12But the other team has not scored in an hour and a half.
08:16What do you do?
08:17Kick the three, baby.
08:19Nothing else would even occur to you.
08:21Yeah.
08:22It wouldn't even occur.
08:23How about, how about with one minute to go in the third quarter?
08:28Oh.
08:28Up by 10.
08:30Your ball on your own 38.
08:33This is terrible.
08:33Fourth and a yard and a half.
08:35What do you do?
08:36You punt.
08:38Nothing else should even occur to you.
08:40Right.
08:40It shouldn't even.
08:41He went on both and got neither.
08:44Man.
08:45I know.
08:46Man, bad gambler.
08:47You take points off the board, and then you give up a 98-yard drive.
08:51It's just that part.
08:52And it went down.
08:52Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom.
08:54Game over.
08:55Game over.
08:55You stop tackling.
08:57You couldn't convert a third down.
08:59And the Rams got time to feel quick.
09:01I mean, that was one of the quickest 98-yard drives I've ever seen in my life.
09:04And they got to hop a flight to London without Saquon to play the Jazz.
09:09And they don't even have to take Bigsby.
09:11They don't have their backup ready back as well.
09:13They got a one ready back.
09:14Yeah, you got hurt, too.
09:15Cunyon Mitchell's hurt.
09:16They're top corner.
09:17So, they're in trouble.
09:18But they play in the NSEE.
09:19So, they may be able to withstand some of that adversity.
09:23Yeah, no doubt.
09:24But how about this?
09:25The 49ers, you talk about how good they are.
09:28They start the season 4-0, obviously, for the third time under Kyle Shanahan.
09:31But their offensive line, going four straight games.
09:34Without allowing a sack for the first time since 1965.
09:37A lot of that's Brock Purdy.
09:38A lot of it.
09:39Okay.
09:40Getting rid of it and running.
09:41Holy crap, though.
09:43Like, this stat is...
09:45He hasn't been sacked.
09:47He hasn't been sacked.
09:47The whole year.
09:48Denver didn't get him.
09:48And they were.
09:49That pocket was collapsing yesterday.
09:50That's what they do.
09:51That's how Denver does it.
09:52How much pressure, though, has he...
09:54Like, the Rams brought some pressure in week one.
09:56He got hit a couple times.
09:58Dolphins, they're the Dolphins.
10:00They're an expansive team.
10:01The Cardinals couldn't get any pressure on them.
10:03Obviously, they're scoring five straight...
10:05That was the Miami game.
10:06They light up the Cardinals, though.
10:09Yesterday, Broncos had times.
10:11Brought some pressure, but no sacks.
10:13I mean, how many times has he been hit this year?
10:15No kicks.
10:16Not a ton.
10:17And if you look at yesterday and all the times that Denver did pressure,
10:20and there were a lot more pressures, but there was the one where he threw
10:23for Mike Evans on third down, and he overthrew it by 10 yards,
10:26just, you know, trying to, quote, get rid of it.
10:29He had a few scrambles.
10:30He had a couple other ones where he just threw it.
10:32There was only one pass, and you talked earlier about, oh, no throws.
10:35There was the one that was really high, and I thought it was to Evans,
10:39and he tipped it, and then the defense wasn't there to get the tip.
10:42But other than that, when he felt the pressure,
10:44he either scrambled or he threw it away.
10:46I think he's also, this, in part, is his reputation is finally starting to
10:51bleed out around the league.
10:52I wonder how much blitzing other defensive coordinators are even doing on him
10:57because he's really, really good.
11:00He's really, really good at reading it.
11:02It won't come if they know you know.
11:04Like, okay, do it all day.
11:05They feel like their pants are down if they send their guys,
11:08and they're going to get beat on the other end.
11:10So that's probably a piece of the puzzle, too.
11:12So it's a lot of credit.
11:14It's him.
11:14It's the offensive line.
11:15It's the scheme.
11:16It's all of these things.
11:17It's an unbelievable number.
11:19Yeah, and I told Bonte this.
11:20I don't know if you guys agree.
11:21I understand why Denver's defense looked the way they did
11:25in stopping the locomotive that I call the Niner offense.
11:28But I scoffed earlier this, you know, offseason when the defensive backs,
11:33how do I paraphrase it?
11:34We're kind of looking forward to playing under Raheem Morris.
11:38They were Olivia Newton-John, but I'm like, you don't even got Bosa.
11:42But Raheem's blitzing more.
11:45They're bringing the pressure.
11:46And I'm just like, this ain't like last year.
11:4949er Frankie, 10 Tex.
11:50Why do you blitz?
11:51Why don't you blitz?
11:52Why don't you blitz?
11:53He's doing that to make up for what they don't have.
11:55But they went toe-to-toe with Denver.
11:57That was a physical football game.
12:01Who's going to blink first?
12:02And Mims blink.
12:03But ultimately, that was the play.
12:05And I don't even know if that was a, quote, blink.
12:07But you listened to Kyle Shanahan yesterday,
12:09and he's praising Saran Neal for, you know, beating the gunner
12:12and getting down there to even be there to maybe make the tackle.
12:15And you get his foot, and then you pop it out.
12:17And that becomes the play that swung the whole thing.
12:20I think also on that, there's a couple things on what you're talking about,
12:24Gu.
12:24First of all, you have to give just a truckload of credit to Raheem Morris.
12:29Bunch of defensive backs that we thought were all question marks.
12:32And he was giving them all.
12:33They all look good.
12:34All the safeties are all look right.
12:37But I want to say this, because I know this is like we're heading downhill
12:43on this not sounding good about Robert Sala.
12:46And I don't like that part.
12:48No, Sala's awesome.
12:49And Raheem's got Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw.
12:52And that's the center of the whole thing.
12:56The two best linebacker duo in the league.
12:58And after week five, Robert had neither of them last year.
13:02And so, you know, I think that – and then add in just even Osa.
13:07And there's other –
13:08No, that's real, man.
13:09They're beat up, but they're more viable than the group they were putting out there
13:12last year.
13:13But, no, he gets credit.
13:14He's got those guys believing and moving.
13:17But that was a big component that Sala didn't have, man.
13:20It didn't.
13:20But even Sala's first tenure, I don't recall them being this creative.
13:25Like, they didn't blitz much when Sala was in.
13:27But they didn't have to.
13:27They didn't have to.
13:28They had a great front board.
13:29You dropped seven.
13:30You saw the Eagles do that in the Super Bowl.
13:32Get to Kansas City, where they just sent four and got pressure on my own.
13:35But the creativity and the DBs.
13:37You know, when you talk to Tig Brown, the Demo,
13:39and they talked about how much they played man defense yesterday.
13:42They were in man a lot yesterday, despite not having to pass rush.
13:46They just seemed to flock towards Raheem Morris' creativity on the back end.
13:50And I like that.
13:51I was wondering – and we had a great call today.
13:53I think it was Taven in Richmond.
13:54Where he goes, I don't want Raheem Morris to lose his creativity on defense.
13:58Which Sala did last year because of the injuries.
14:00I think you've got to just play.
14:02You've got to be creative in this league.
14:03And, look, if you get burned by the blitz, so be it.
14:06They're going to give up some points here and there.
14:08But you can't sit back and just let the offense dictate what they want to do.
14:11You've got to go out there and be creative in this league.
14:13You've got to pick your spots.
14:13And I do think, looking at the game again, a second, a third time,
14:17you see a lot more five-man fronts.
14:20And sometimes they have a four-man front.
14:21And either Fred and Dre are up there.
14:23And so we're showing a six-man.
14:25And then maybe Dre and Fred both come, but somebody drops out.
14:28Or just Fred or just Dre.
14:30What they're doing in terms of the look.
14:32Look, look, look.
14:33I think that they're doing a lot more varied.
14:35Last year was kind of like, here's our four.
14:37We might send a fifth.
14:39It was vanilla.
14:39Yeah, exactly.
14:40It was very vanilla.
14:40I wonder also, maybe this is prisoner of the moment because Dre Greenlaw was just so pissed off the entire
14:46day yesterday
14:47and screaming at people.
14:48Incredible, man.
14:48But there's something about his presence that I feel like is inspiring other people on that defense.
14:54They look mean.
14:55They look mad.
14:56I said that earlier.
14:57They're mean.
14:58They are absolutely.
14:59I mean, I know.
15:00The hit sound difference.
15:01They're game tackling.
15:02I know.
15:02I'm like, hold them up.
15:03I'm going to come punch it out, Willer.
15:04I'm coming.
15:05They're being so aggressive that they, like, they missed a few.
15:08RJ already shook them a couple times.
15:10They said that.
15:11And he's like, whoa, but they're just coming.
15:13They are coming to take the ball from you.
15:15He's a mean dude.
15:16Take your pants off you.
15:17Like, they are just, they are game tackling.
15:20Like, I, you know, I don't remember this.
15:24It's been a few years.
15:25Put it that way.
15:25Upton sounds getting in the mix.
15:27I mean, Jane Duggar's out there playing.
15:29And they, like you said, they missed some tackles yesterday.
15:31But I'd rather have a guy over pursuing than not pursuing at all.
15:34And that's Drake Greenlaw.
15:36So, you definitely don't have choir boys on this defense.
15:38As you are listening to 95-70 game, KGMZ FM and HG1 San Francisco and Odyssey Sports Station.
15:44And the home of the go-to-state Warriors and Valkyries, who have a big game, too, Wednesday night.
15:48You can listen to it right here on 95-70 game.
15:51Always live on the free Odyssey app.
15:52Coming to you live from the Laughing Monk Studios, of course, brew right here in San Francisco.
15:58Yeah, the defense play, I mean, I just worry about the injury.
16:00I mean, I don't worry about the injuries because I want to see him at least have some guys up
16:04there in Seattle.
16:05Upton Stout, A.C. sprayed in his shoulder.
16:07He had a big ice back on in the locker room.
16:09He's going to try to play because he's playing well so far.
16:12Siegel, who's playing well.
16:13He's playing well.
16:15Banged up.
16:15But offensively, I think if you have Shanahan and you have Purdy playing at this level
16:21and this offensive line is blocking, they're going to have a test against that front seven
16:24next Sunday in the Pacific Northwest, they can do anything this year
16:28if they can just get some bodies back.
16:30They are, when you look around the landscape of the league, especially the NFC, Seattle?
16:36Like, does anybody believe in the 4-0 Minnesota Vikings?
16:38I have a hard time outside of Seattle, Dibs.
16:40I ain't done with the Rams, but this is good.
16:43You got work to do, and we don't know about Miles.
16:46Puka could get – like, I'm watching Aaron Donald.
16:49Sure.
16:49So there's not a lot on my list in the NFC, and I don't want to jinx anything,
16:53but I just know this team's prepared.
16:56And just real quick, hashtag random.
16:58I was so skeptical of the additions of Debo and Greenlaw.
17:03Debo is – it's incredible.
17:06And in my lifetime, Buck Williams, old school, Charles Oakley, and Maurice Lucas,
17:11those were enforcers, mean guys.
17:14That's what Dre Greenlaw is.
17:16And I just wonder what didn't happen in Denver for it not to work.
17:20And it was a three-year deal.
17:22And after one, it wouldn't be – like, that dude is an assassin, man.
17:26Not perfect, Dibs, but an assassin.
17:29And they hold the Chiefs in the Super Bowl until he got hurt.
17:32That's right.
17:33Then it's like, oh, let's get busy.
17:34Well, he was injured in Denver, and if you don't have the same level of, like,
17:38gravitas in an organization, they don't know you.
17:40Like, Shanahan and everyone here knows Dre.
17:43Like, if you're hurt, then you're really, really, really hurt.
17:46Like, Mike Evans, you're hurt.
17:48Oh, go out there and get five catches and play half the game?
17:51Like, oh, my God.
17:52The tone that that sets, and it's organizational.
17:54So, I think Dre went to Denver, and he was hurt legit.
17:58And they probably were like, oh, yeah, you just got your contract.
18:01You're hurt, quote, unquote.
18:02And it got off on the wrong foot.
18:04Some guys are like that, too.
18:05Dre Greenlaw might be the Pablo Sandoval of the NFL.
18:08Like, some guys, they just fit for – you're fit for there.
18:12You know what I mean?
18:13Like, you play here.
18:15This is your family, and this is where you will perform.
18:19And if you go somewhere else, it's just probably not going to be the same.
18:22I'm going to stick on Greenlaw, but you could say the same thing for Debo Samuel.
18:25Sure.
18:26What about the pop he's given his offense?
18:28He had a pretty good year last year.
18:29Yeah, he wasn't terrible.
18:30He wasn't a rattle.
18:31He wasn't great.
18:32He wasn't great, but he wasn't – yeah, he wasn't Greenlaw.
18:34Yeah.
18:34But he wasn't Greenlaw, but he goes there.
18:36They had quarterback issues in Washington.
18:39But he's like, from day one, when he put on the pads out here,
18:42got off the flight, took his physical, put on the pads.
18:45I was like, damn, this looks like rookie Debo.
18:48I love what Trent said yesterday.
18:49What did he say?
18:50He said, we knew we were going to get this from Debo because we knew he was –
18:56he's ticked off.
18:57Something to prove.
18:58Yeah.
18:58Wow.
18:59He didn't – you know, he's got big ears, and he heard what the streets were saying.
19:03No.
19:03And they were saying it.
19:04He poured it into his offseason, and so Trent was like,
19:08we had a feeling we were going to get this Debo back.
19:09Like, he's balling right now.
19:11But then you go back to Greenlaw, pointing at Sean Payton.
19:14I was comparing it to, like, he might be an Alvin Mack from the program.
19:17The program just had his anniversary.
19:19You see that all on Twitter?
19:20That's all he's been talking about today.
19:23I get Alvin Mack fives.
19:25I don't know if he talks like Alvin Mack, but he's pointing at Sean Payton.
19:28He's a mean dude, man.
19:30He's a mean dude.
19:31And you need that guy back.
19:32And then Sean Payton, I don't know what happened there at Denver.
19:35I really don't know what happened.
19:36He was hurt, and maybe they thought you can play.
19:39Well, he felt disrespected, too.
19:40He spoke on it yesterday.
19:42You got caught without so much as a phone call.
19:45He got caught, and he found out from his own agent.
19:47Oh.
19:47So he was like, okay, call me.
19:50Say it to me, you know, and whatever.
19:53If that's what motivates you, then it's working.
19:56It's working.
19:57Wow.
19:58And I think that everything motivates him, and just watching him yesterday,
20:01and I was thinking about my own reference because I'm a little older than the program,
20:05but Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Charles Jefferson.
20:08I don't know if you've ever seen it.
20:10Yeah, exactly.
20:11And Spicoli intentionally spray paints his car with the opposition's, like, logo and whatnot.
20:17Mustaine, yeah.
20:18And so he comes out there and forces, like, hey, like, twitching, and can't wait.
20:22He's jumping over the line and had, like, 29 tackles or whatever.
20:25And so watching Dre, it's like, yeah, you're good.
20:28You've been good all year.
20:29But now it's like, oh, my God, a couple of those were on the apron and toward the sideline,
20:34and he doesn't really seem to care.
20:36And that's how he's been when he was here, Pat.
20:38He was you.
20:38Does Debo do that at the next home game?
20:41Wow.
20:42Because the commanders, two weeks from the night.
20:44That's after, man.
20:44Did you see the way he finished that reverse?
20:47He could have gone out of bounds.
20:48You know, I'm going to live to see another play.
20:50But he's inflicted.
20:52Debo, I'm going to inflict some punishment on you.
20:54Yep.
20:54But, I mean, he kind of almost fumbled three times yesterday.
20:59He fumbled once where I was like, oh, he got it back.
21:01He's all just bouncing around in there.
21:03So I was like, Debo, right?
21:05But that's always been – that's the Debo we remember.
21:07I remember always worrying about him getting hurt because he just –
21:11that's the only speed he's got.
21:12He puts his head down, and he tries to plow through people,
21:15and it's going to get you sometimes, but it's going to win for you more often than not.
21:18I told Ponte, that was a fight yesterday.
21:20That was a problem.
21:21I appreciate that.
21:22And Kittle ends it.
21:23But he's now fourth all-time on the 49ers receiving touchdown list,
21:27passing up Vernon Davis yesterday.
21:29What is he, three behind Gene Washington for third all-time.
21:32He breaks the 56-yarder.
21:33But to me, it's Shanahan.
21:35It starts with Shanahan.
21:37Purdy's playing at a high-low,
21:39better than anybody at the quarterback position right now.
21:41But Shanahan, in the way he's coaching, there's a difference.
21:44Last week against Arizona, he was aggressive.
21:47I know some people say, oh, why didn't he run the ball on that play?
21:49He's aggressive.
21:50They go up, you know, Denver scores a 17-14, and he's throwing on the first two downs.
21:56Even before halftime.
21:57How many times do we see Shanahan run a half-back draw, run a clock, go to halftime?
22:02They got in the field goal range because Shanahan is calling the game more aggressively.
22:06And where did they start that drive?
22:07At the 31.
22:09Their own 31.
22:10Really?
22:11The one before halftime?
22:12No, right before halftime.
22:13Oh, I thought you were talking about the one then.
22:14Right before halftime.
22:15Where'd they start that drive?
22:16Oh, they started that with their own 18.
22:1818-year-old line.
22:1841 seconds left.
22:19Yeah, 41 seconds left.
22:21Speak on what you're saying, man, because this is huge.
22:23He is not only fully trusting the quarterback, his play calling in these moments.
22:29The call to Joe.
22:29That was the game.
22:31The play call to Kittle there at the end.
22:34That was the game.
22:35And Denver's like, we stopped him.
22:37He got him.
22:37He got him.
22:38He knew exactly what they were going to do and how to beat it.
22:41And two weeks in a row, Kittle's right there like that, man.
22:44Yeah, Kittle, once he was done making googly eyes with your shoes yesterday,
22:48he talked about, you know, he's like, we needed one block.
22:51We needed one block.
22:53And I forget which offensive lineman he called out.
22:55He was the center, Jake Brando.
22:56He was saying, once Jake got there to make the block, strike up the band.
23:00Real quick, did you know what those shoes were?
23:01I'm no sneaker here.
23:03I had no idea until I was watching.
23:05Did you know what?
23:06I was watching the clip after, and a couple things struck me.
23:09One, like Bonte, like a king, off to the side in his own chair.
23:15Like he's doing the side.
23:17He's like the Barry Bonds of the clubhouse.
23:19He's not like with everyone else's ambitator.
23:21I didn't look at him like the seats were taken.
23:23He is full on Barka.
23:25What's up, George?
23:26I didn't look at him like that.
23:28I'm looking at your boy over here, like super chilling, feet up.
23:31And the question about the shoes, I'm like, I never look at another man's shoes.
23:35I didn't know what the off-white is.
23:36I'm like Andy Dufresne from Shawshank.
23:38You know, not a lot of people have the off-white.
23:41He goes, you got him on too.
23:42And I was like, wait a minute.
23:43He's wearing the same shoes.
23:45And he's looking at my feet up.
23:47And he's like, oh, I saw him afterwards.
23:49It was pretty smooth by you.
23:50And I waited.
23:51Listen, there was respect for the bandwriters.
23:53Let them get their questions in.
23:54All the serious stuff.
23:56Well, where do you have to go?
23:57You're in a hammock, for God's sakes.
23:59Guys, I mean, sipping a Mai Tai half a sleep.
24:02You look more comfortable than me, and I'm at home.
24:06Hey, no shoe jacket.
24:07He just went straight.
24:08It was a Hollywood.
24:08Tony Savalas.
24:09I was not doing a shoe yesterday.
24:11Tony Savalas.
24:12It was cooking.
24:13Bonte in a lounger talking shoes.
24:15I'm like, man, this is TV Bonte in a nutshell.
24:19I was proud.
24:21I was jealous, but also proud.
24:23And I'm like, okay, Bonte, way to bring it home.
24:25It was pretty awesome.
24:25I decided to bring it home.
24:26I was waiting on it.
24:27It was pretty funny.
24:27And he didn't notice.
24:28He's like, honest guy.
24:31The likability quotient of this football team is just, I can't get over it.
24:37And I know that may sound a certain way.
24:38If you're not a huge Niner fan, like if you root for another team or whatever, but I'm
24:43just telling you.
24:43You see it when you see it, man.
24:44Any team you root for, there's a different level of likability.
24:48And with Dre and Debo coming back and performing the way they did yesterday, and just the whole
24:53sort of family vibe that this group has, I just, man, God, I hope they get one.
24:59Man, I hope they get one.
25:01You guys don't care.
25:01This is super random before we go.
25:03Do they still come out?
25:04Because last year, Debo's last year, it was everything, every week, with the boomboxes.
25:09Oh, they still come out.
25:10Oh, yeah.
25:11I don't see a lot of run on the IG.
25:13Yeah, because, I mean, you know, everybody's doing it.
25:15After a while, it's like, hey, you're supposed to be saying boomboxes.
25:17We get it.
25:18They come out with the boomboxes.
25:18I watched one earlier.
25:20It might have been week one.
25:21And you got Debo and Trent up front.
25:23Can't remember who's in row two.
25:24You look at the third row out.
25:26Matt Jones.
25:27Matt Jones.
25:28Matt Jones is out there.
25:29It's no longer surprising.
25:31It would have been surprising.
25:32We got to know him last year.
25:33Because, you know, you're checking numbers in the front.
25:35I'm like, oh, I think that's Deomino Lenore.
25:37And obviously, it's Trent.
25:38Back to back up.
25:39Which, I mean, if Debo gets hurt, I'm pretty sure it'll be Mack right next to Trent.
25:43It'll be Mack.
25:43Back to Moondown.
25:44You brought up how you want this team to win one.
25:46And we think about the Frank Gore-Willis days and wanted them to win one.
25:49Even the Giants, guys.
25:50Kirk Reeder was in town the last weekend.
25:53And Sean Essis.
25:54And I was lucky enough to talk to him.
25:55And I was like, I really wanted them to win one.
25:57That's how I feel about this Niners team.
25:59Like, it's disappointing.
26:00We were talking like, what if they had to parade?
26:02And it was Bonds.
26:03And it was Dusty.
26:05I mean, because those teams, I know we love 10, 12, and 14.
26:09I take those teams from 97 to 03.
26:12On paper.
26:1202 on line one.
26:14I mean, they were unbelievable.
26:16Like, I'm not a big window guy, as Dibs knows.
26:19Because to me, your window is, do you have a really good quarterback?
26:22And how old is he?
26:23And the Niners have a really good 26-year-old quarterback.
26:25So they should be relevant for a while.
26:27But Kittle, Warner, the adopted ones, CMC, and Trent, Juice.
26:35Like, sure, Debo.
26:36These guys, you know, that's where the shelf life is getting there for some of them.
26:42Especially George, man.
26:43He's sitting there staring at the Super Bowl.
26:45I'm going to get back here.
26:46I'm going to get back here.
26:46And then he did.
26:47And then they lose in overtime.
26:48It's like, yeah, Fred, you hope these guys get to taste it.
26:54It's George and Juice.
26:55The only two have been there the whole time with Shanahan.
26:57Wow.
26:58And he actually shouted that out, Shanahan, in the postgame yesterday.
27:01Most games coached for the Niners.
27:03Surpassing Bill Walsh.
27:04And those two have been losing through it all.
27:06Yep.
27:06And Juice, by the way, out two to three weeks.
27:08I think it's a sneaky loss.
27:09Wow, that is good.
27:10It's good news on the injury.
27:11It's a sneaky loss.
27:11But I think people underrate.
27:14They don't rate Juice enough.
27:16Like, he does a lot for this offense.
27:17He does, but you mentioned this earlier.
27:19It's all about Shanahan.
27:20And you saw it after Juice went out.
27:22Braden Willis.
27:23They went three tight ends, and they had Braden shift into the backfield
27:27and try to approximate the Juice role.
27:29He's going to have to get creative now.
27:31What are you guys talking about?
27:32I'm kidding.
27:33I'm kidding.
27:33See, I had to rush out of here like Snidey.
27:35I'm shocked.
27:36I was ready to text you about game three.
27:45I was like, guru, how dare you?
27:47My buddies were mad.
27:48How dare you go lose this game?
27:50How dare you get blown out in this game?
27:52But I'll tell you this.
27:53The arena was on fire, but my buddies were like, you just are negative.
27:57Like, I was stunning.
27:58I'm like, you just – I go, dude, you're dead.
28:02And then they were like, I think we might have lost this one.
28:04And then the girl, they just came and took it back.
28:06But I didn't like Lakeup yesterday saying Lakeup is not the best.
28:13It's Gabby.
28:13So you just said Gabby Williams is the best.
28:15I don't know where your home was at, but don't say that.
28:17Let Joe cook.
28:18Let Joe do a spin.
28:19Joe gets excited.
28:20Okay.
28:21He has future all-star.
28:22He gets excited.
28:24He gets excited.
28:26I feel better now.
28:27I heard you earlier in the segment.
28:28I think you said that you loved him seven times in this segment.
28:31So I'll go ahead and take it from here.
28:33Or if I can maybe get a piece of Joe, in their second year, the fact that he's, you know,
28:39they're already this close in year two.
28:41Man.
28:42Joe, this is Dan Dibley.
28:43You heard from Bonte earlier.
28:44I also love you.
28:46In case Bonte's busy on a Thursday night, call me Joe.
28:51How do you not like owners who spend money?
28:54We had Chris Cohen.
28:55Fisher was across the bay.
28:57We know what he did with the A's.
28:58Second April visit, Joe Lakeup.
29:00Hey, she is the free agent pickup of the year.
29:02No doubt about it.
29:04So, like, you know.
29:04She saved him Friday.
29:06Well, they all did.
29:07But you know what I meant.
29:08Joe.
29:09Joe's excited.
29:10Joe's excited.
29:11And so is Bonte.
29:13They're excited.
29:14You guys have a good one, man.
29:15All right, Bonte.
