00:00I ended up going to six different foster homes, all in different places. I did have foster parents
00:06that were not nice to me. I feel like things didn't turn around for me until I kind of like
00:10got a job and I feel like once I kind of got my job I met my, I'm a mother,
00:16I met my son's father.
00:18I had felt like oh okay like well this is someone that is nice to me. Immediately from the beginning
00:23the relationship was very toxic, very lots of arguing, lots of up and down, things becoming
00:30physical. When we met I was 18, almost 19 and he was 32. I was constantly being compressed in a
00:37way
00:37to fit into his life. I got pregnant with my son. The same things that I went through I didn't
00:42want
00:42that for my son and that gave me the motivation to eventually I believe my son was a year and
00:47a half
00:47and I left. He was holding the baby you know saying he was gonna leave and I was like well
00:52you're not
00:53gonna leave with the baby you know and I remember that he kicked me. The baby was screaming. I chose
00:57not to press charges at the time but the state decided that they had wanted to pursue charges
01:03anyway. I felt like I deserved more. I felt like I deserved a good life and I wanted my son
01:08to see
01:09the same thing and so that I felt like that gave me the strength to leave. Well since I have
01:16left my ex
01:17I have gotten remarried to someone else. I feel like I feel the most free I've ever felt and I
01:22feel
01:22like in a way that has healed me too.
