00:03Kuwait-born 34-year-old Abdullah al-Badri, wearing a kaffeya wrapped around his head and sunglasses,
00:09had tried to get into the grounds of the Israeli embassy to what was described as exact revenge for the
00:16killing of children in Gaza.
00:18On Monday, Mrs Justice Lambert sentenced al-Badri to life in prison, with a minimum term of 20 years.
00:27al-Badri appeared emotionless in the dock as the sentence was read out.
00:31The court previously heard al-Badri was refused asylum after he twice entered the UK in small boats in August
00:372021 and April 2025.
00:41al-Badri, who was born into the stateless Arabian Badoon tribe, had told the court he had been jailed and
00:47mistreated for campaigning for human rights in Kuwait.
00:51On the 28th of April last year, al-Badri was captured on CCTV walking for an hour from Kilburn in
00:59north-west London to the Israeli embassy.
01:02Just before 6pm, he arrived outside the embassy and made a gesture, like a salute, before he jumped onto the
01:09eight-foot-high metal fence.
01:11He attempted to get over the fence and into the grounds with the two knives concealed in his pocket.
01:17Within seconds, two armed diplomatic protection officers reached up and grabbed him, pulling him to the ground.
