00:00It's just before 11 a.m. at a collectible store in Lake Park, Florida, when deputies respond to a reported
00:07Pokemon heist, where one suspect's quest to catch them all is about to land him in serious trouble.
00:15All right, thanks so much. Bye-bye.
00:17It's not him, bro. It's not him.
00:20How are you doing? I'm well.
00:22It's sad that you have to come like this. Three o'clock, fucking had like a chainsaw or a jigsaw.
00:29Started going through it because it's in packed glass.
00:31Yeah.
00:32Started working his way in there and then went back. Looked like he went around there. I don't have cameras
00:38on that side, so that's a blind spot.
00:40Okay.
00:40Came back with like a hammer, did the rest. Small hole. Got himself in like Spider-Man, did some sort
00:49of bowel roll, and just starts doing some damage. Thank God.
00:52The business owner tells deputies that surveillance footage showed a man attempting to throw a rock at the store's window
00:59around 1.30 a.m., before he says the same man returned a few hours later with a handheld electric
01:05saw and cut a hole through the impact-resisting glass, before using a hammer or mallet to widen the opening
01:12and climb through.
01:15We're trying to, like, I mean, I don't think it's crazy. It's probably 10 to 15 grand worth of stuff.
01:21Really? Okay.
01:23You know, but thank God, like, hey, we're gonna...
01:25Where did he exit?
01:26Same thing, same window.
01:28Okay.
01:29Yeah. I mean, he tried to do his job, you know, tried to cover it up, but it's real small.
01:35There is some blood on the glass.
01:38Investigators later determined the suspect made off with around 12 grand worth of Pokemon cards and various merchandise from the
01:45store and caused an estimated $1,500 in damage along the way,
01:49all before leaving behind important DNA evidence after injuring himself in the process.
01:55Next, deputies get a good look at the suspect's alleged entry point.
01:59Do you mind?
02:00Yeah.
02:01I don't want to be rude.
02:01I just want to screw it.
02:06Okay.
02:10So he got through that little hole.
02:14He's probably going to get except even more.
02:28Here, we see the small triangular hole the suspect allegedly used to gain entry into the business.
02:34Now, the victim continues sharing more details.
02:37He knew it wasn't just a hammer, and then when I went back, I saw him literally with a jigsaw.
02:43He know what he was going for?
02:45Or was he...
02:45You think he was just looking at the stickers?
02:47I know.
02:48He definitely didn't look at any stickers.
02:49He didn't have time.
02:50He came back here, grabbed a couple of things.
02:53Like, he did look to see what he wanted.
02:55So he knows Pokemon.
02:56And then he just came here and took these trays that were full of cards like that, and
03:03just jumped him into, like, kind of like one of those Albi-type bags.
03:06He came back a second time, which, again, I have that video, too.
03:09He made it a little bit bigger, I guess, with the mallet.
03:11And when he went in this way, I mean, I don't even know how to do that.
03:18Yeah, yeah.
03:19I was looking at the size of it.
03:20I'm like, there's no way he's, like, my size.
03:23Because...
03:24Moments later, the store owner determines a possible suspect, saying a man had driven
03:29to the store two days prior in what appeared to be the same white Jeep the suspect had been
03:34driving, wearing the exact same black clothing.
03:37Furthermore, he told detectives the suspect had made a purchase of more than $400, linked
03:42to his customer profile, that included his name, phone number, and email address.
03:48He was there for about 30, 40 minutes, asking a lot of questions, just looking at the Pokemon.
03:52So, again, I'm just going to come up with as much evidence as possible to help you guys,
03:56you know what I mean?
03:58That guy?
03:59That guy was here for, like, 40 minutes yesterday, just asking about prices for everything.
04:04Did he buy anything?
04:04He did buy something.
04:06So that's what they said.
04:08Cash and credit?
04:08I don't know, but they can, we can pull it up.
04:12Yeah, we can pull it up.
04:13Armed with plenty of information, it doesn't take investigators long to trace their suspect's
04:18location to his parents' home, about 17 miles away in West Palm Beach.
04:25How are you?
04:27Fine.
04:28We're just making sure your dogs are not aggressive before we even knock on the door.
04:33One of them is.
04:34Oh, they are?
04:34Okay.
04:34Yeah.
04:35Well, the big one.
04:37Okay.
04:38Yeah.
04:39But they're in the house.
04:40Yeah, okay.
04:41You need to come in?
04:43Yeah, if we could.
04:44Sure.
04:45Can they come out the dog door?
04:47No.
04:48Okay.
04:48No.
04:49No.
04:50Yeah.
04:51Yeah, come on.
04:53So, I'm Detective Remo with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
04:56Yeah.
04:56This is my partner, Detective Mace.
04:58Hello.
04:58Hi.
04:59You're a minister?
05:00Yes.
05:01You're a minister?
05:02Clayton.
05:02Clayton?
05:03Yes.
05:03Give me a hand.
05:04Take your hand out of your pockets.
05:07Is that a knife in his front right?
05:09Or a gun?
05:10Is it a gun or a knife?
05:11It's a knife.
05:12Okay.
05:12Okay.
05:13I'm.
05:15You're being detained right now?
05:17Deputies identify the suspect seen here as 33-year-old Clayton Warren, who allegedly decided
05:23to level up his Pokemon collection the illegal way.
05:27Okay.
05:29Just relax.
05:30We have a search warrant for your house.
05:32Okay.
05:33No.
05:34We're going to explain everything.
05:35Yeah, we'll explain everything to you.
05:37I'm going to explain everything to get things situated or good.
05:39Okay.
05:40Oh, a nice knife.
05:44Anyone else home with you?
05:45Yeah, my husband.
05:47Your husband's inside?
05:47And we have two dogs.
05:49Anything else in your pockets?
05:49Are they friendly?
05:50No.
05:51No.
05:51Not a fake.
05:52I'm just going to take everything out.
05:53Just a little bit.
05:54I'm going to explain everything out.
05:55Yeah, let's work on that.
05:57How much cash do you have on you?
05:59All right.
06:00Do you have any cash?
06:02No.
06:02No cash.
06:03Can I talk to her?
06:04Okay.
06:05Just hang with him for a sec?
06:06Okay.
06:06Yeah, what's.
06:07What's going on?
06:08Rob, what's going on?
06:10I have no idea.
06:16Do you feel okay?
06:18Yeah.
06:18Okay.
06:19I feel okay.
06:20You're just kind of sweaty.
06:21I just want to make sure that you weren't going to pass out or something.
06:25You ever been arrested before?
06:27Never.
06:29While Clayton is detained, another investigator speaks with his mother.
06:34Like I said, I'm Detective Riemer with the Sheriff's Office.
06:36Yeah.
06:36I'm investigating a burglary to a business in which Clayton broke into a business this morning at 3 a.m.
06:55That's my son.
06:57He used a chainsaw to cut through a hurricane-proof window using the Jeep that you own to get there
07:06and from, and he stole a bunch of Pokemon cards.
07:09Oh, shit.
07:13Oh, my God.
07:15We do have a search warrant for the house.
07:17He cut himself up badly going through the window, so we have a search warrant for his DNA as well.
07:22Okay.
07:23Back with the suspect, the deputy's approach turns out to be super effective, as Clayton makes a stunning admission.
07:35Get us.
07:37Yeah.
07:38If I return everything and...
07:43I don't know.
07:44Okay.
07:45I don't know.
07:46That's a question for the bald man.
07:49The bald man?
07:50Yeah.
07:51Can I...
07:51He's in trouble.
07:52Well, let him talk to Mom and then, uh...
07:54Can I talk to him?
07:55Yeah, give him a second.
07:56Let him talk to Mom and explain what's going on, because she's a little nervous, so...
08:00Yeah.
08:01I'm so stupid.
08:03Yeah.
08:04It was pretty dumb.
08:05Yeah.
08:08Yeah.
08:09You've never been in trouble before?
08:10Never.
08:11Okay.
08:12I'm sure you've seen, like, a TV show or something, so before we say anything, let's read you your rights.
08:17While Clayton has read his Miranda rights, one detective speaks with his parents further.
08:21He apparently, at 3 o'clock this morning, went and robbed and stole Pokemon cards.
08:29Oh, my God.
08:34So, at 3 o'clock in the morning, or, I mean, at actually, at 1.30, he was there with
08:39a rock trying to throw it through the window.
08:41Didn't get through the store because it's a hurricane-proof window, and then came back out here and grabbed a
08:46battery-operated saw and used that to cut through the window.
08:51Climbed through the window, cut himself badly, and stole a bunch of Pokemon cards in two paper bags that were
08:58thrown into two paper bags.
09:04So, what we'll do, just to make everything easy, if you guys want to go over...
09:09You know what?
09:09What's that?
09:12I went in his closet today, and I saw the step ladder in his closet, and I'll show you that.
09:21And I noticed, I'm like, where's the suitcase?
09:23So, then I had asked Clayton, because I got up, like, at 4.30 in the morning.
09:29I couldn't sleep, and Clayton came out, and I was like, you can't sleep?
09:36And he goes, no, I can't sleep.
09:37But I asked him about the suitcase, and he said, oh, yeah, I was trying to see if, thinking about
09:45going up to his wedding, and I got it out here.
09:50And he had the suitcase here.
09:54And...
09:54Did something with it?
09:56Sorry, what was your name again?
09:58Clayton.
09:58Clayton.
09:59Clayton, yeah.
09:59You feel okay?
10:00Yeah, I'm okay.
10:01Okay.
10:03I've never been in trouble.
10:04Okay, I understand.
10:08Let me know if you want to, like, sit down or something.
10:11Do what?
10:12I said, let me know if you want to, like, sit down or something, lean her against the hood of
10:14the car.
10:15Um, yeah.
10:18I don't want you...
10:19I don't want you falling out on us.
10:21Hey, here's...
10:22Right here, this one.
10:25There, let him...
10:26Let him chit-chat.
10:27Mom, let me explain it, please.
10:32Now, the detective turned his attention to Clayton.
10:35Mr. Clayton, how are you?
10:37Okay.
10:39So...
10:39Very stupid.
10:41Yeah.
10:43It was...
10:44I would like a lawyer, but I would like to...
10:49to explain and talk.
10:53Okay.
10:57Unless, I mean...
10:58It's up to you.
11:00We have a search warrant for the house.
11:01We have a search warrant to literally go through every fine-tooth comb looking for the property from this morning.
11:08Right.
11:09The saw that was used to cut open the door.
11:13Um.
11:14And then a couple of items of your clothing, and then to take your DNA.
11:21Okay.
11:21Because you cut yourself on the door, and we have blood left on scene.
11:25Okay.
11:25So, we're...
11:27Like I said, that's what we're trying to get, is the majority of the property back.
11:31Okay.
11:33I can...
11:35I can give you all the property back.
11:38Okay.
11:38And, um, I can tell you where the chainsaw is.
11:44Okay.
11:44I can, um, give you my clothes.
11:47Okay.
11:47Everything.
11:48I just wanna...
11:50You know, I don't know if I need a lawyer, or if...
11:54It's entirely your right.
11:55I can make a deal.
11:57Unfortunately, we don't make deals.
11:59We can't make a deal right here, right now.
12:01Um, we have what we have.
12:03Mm-hmm.
12:04And there's, like I said, an abundance of evidence in regards to what we have and why we're here right
12:09now.
12:10Right.
12:11Um, it is entirely your right to an attorney, as he read you your rights.
12:16Mm-hmm.
12:16Um, so that is entirely your choice.
12:19Whether you wanna tell us more or not, it's up to you.
12:22Like I said, we got a search warrant, and we're gonna go looking for everything.
12:26Regardless.
12:27Right.
12:28So.
12:30Um.
12:31I mean, do you think it would look better for me?
12:36I can't give you that advice, boss.
12:37I'm sorry.
12:38I wish I could, but...
12:41Only you know...
12:42Yeah.
12:42...what happened, where the stuff is, um, and the route that you should take through this.
12:51We can't give you any type of advice.
12:53Definitely no legal advice.
12:57Um...
12:57So you don't want a lawyer right now?
12:59Do what?
13:00You do not want a lawyer right now?
13:03I mean, we can't get one here right now, but if...
13:07If...
13:07If, uh...
13:10If you want a lawyer, it would be later on, like, at, uh, you know, at the jail.
13:15We're not gonna bring one out here to this scene for this situation at your house looking
13:19for everything.
13:20Right.
13:21I just want to be clear that as of right now, you're okay talking to us and telling us where
13:27the things are.
13:27Should I get a lawyer?
13:28I don't...
13:29I can't answer that for you.
13:32Okay.
13:32You can talk to your mom, if you want, if you trust...
13:35Yeah.
13:35You can discuss with them, um, what's going on.
13:40So, I'll just tell you from our side, we have a search warrant, um, for the house to look
13:45for the items and the things that Detective Reemerge has explained to you.
13:50Right.
13:50Um, and then we also have another search warrant for your DNA, which is just, like, a cotton
13:54swab inside your mouth real fast.
13:56Right.
13:56Um, that one, obviously, we know where to find that.
14:00But all that other stuff, we have no idea where to look.
14:04So, we'll look anywhere on this property to try to find every single piece that we're
14:08looking for.
14:09Um...
14:10After the 33-year-old's apparent indecisiveness, the deputies allowed Clayton to talk with his
14:15parents, who don't appear to be very happy with him.
14:29Um...
14:30We have to stay with you?
14:37Um...
14:38Well, hold on, let me see what, uh...
14:41Um, he wanted to discuss his, uh, lawyer status and, um, telling us where the things are to
14:47expedite the search warrant, but then asked to talk to mom and dad whether or not that's
14:52the best course for him.
14:53And I said we have to stand here, but now he wants the privacy of that.
14:56So, what is...
14:57What are your thoughts on...
14:59As long as you guys don't have contact with him, like, physical contact with him, you
15:02can stand right where you're at and talk to him.
15:04Um...
15:04I'll give you a little space.
15:05Yeah, I'm good with that.
15:06We'll step up to the garage.
15:11Deputies step away for a moment before Clayton chooses to come clean and reveal the whereabouts
15:16of the stolen merchandise.
15:18Yes, sir.
15:19He's the man in charge.
15:20I'll show you where it begins.
15:22Okay.
15:22Come on.
15:24Hopefully you take that into account, but...
15:26Yeah.
15:30So, boss, if you want to give mom and dad the search warrant there, there's the two of
15:34them.
15:34Come on.
15:36Come on.
15:37I'll go with you.
15:45Clayton leads the detective inside, where officials redact the screen.
15:49But according to an incident report, 210 individual Pokemon cards, seven sealed box packages of
15:56Pokemon cards, and bloodstained clothing were recovered.
15:59Investigators also found an estimated 20 grams of mushrooms, which were placed separately
16:04into evidence.
16:05Additionally, while in the home, Clayton allegedly revealed that he had dumped the saw used in
16:10the crime in a nearby trashcan.
16:12Need someone to take him to...
16:15He's going to show you...
16:16He tossed the saw out in a garbage can around the block.
16:20Okay.
16:21So, he knows which garbage can it was.
16:23We have a transport cart right here.
16:25Okay.
16:26And, uh...
16:28If you guys want to go.
16:30Yeah.
16:30Can you follow him, Ernie?
16:33Yeah, that's fine.
16:34Cool.
16:34Let's give us directions.
16:35They're going to take you to see where that is, okay?
16:38Okay.
16:41I'm going to turn the AC on, and you tell me where we're going, alright?
16:44Okay.
16:44So, it's like...
16:46It's a dumpster, or is it like someone's house?
16:48It's someone's house.
16:50It's just a dump.
16:53A garbage can that I saw out.
16:57Did you know the person, or...?
16:58No.
17:00Alright.
17:02We'll head on out.
17:06Seconds later, Clayton is transported to the area where he says he ditched the tool.
17:12Does one of these trash cans is what we're in?
17:15Uh, yeah.
17:15Come on out.
17:22Okay.
17:22Let's just walk this way.
17:32Okay.
17:34Um...
17:34These were full.
17:36That's the right?
17:37Was it the one without a lid, or do you don't remember?
17:40It was that one?
17:42I'm pretty sure it was this one.
17:44Okay.
17:49while the trio searches for the electric saw investigators back at the home
17:54continue speaking with clayton's parents yeah can you guys shake him or knock some sense into him
18:00why the hell would he do this um he cooper he showed us where everything is he hit a lot
18:07of
18:07it in his fish room all of the pokemon cards um and then he had a bag that was stuffed
18:14in his closet
18:15with all of the bloody clothes and the bags that he used to take everything today so
18:22yeah because he he was washing his hands and and he said i cut myself and i didn't see his
18:29hands
18:30but he was telling me that and and i'm like how'd you do that he said oh the fish aquarium

20:04the day the saw could not be recovered it was just a chainsaw that was it yeah just the chainsaw
20:12okay all right we'll have that game and go back over all right did one of you guys take my
