00:00There is controversy around this game because of what happened in game number two.
00:05The pitch tipping paranoia is very much part of the conversation after Jackson Cheerios two out to run game winning
00:14hit in the bottom of the ninth inning against the best pitcher in baseball in Mason Miller.
00:20Mason Miller says he's not tipping pitches, but Pat Murphy did not throw any cold water on this idea that
00:28there is something with the delivery for Mason Miller that the Brewers have picked up upon.
00:34He said, quote, after the game, I'd be not telling the truth if I didn't tell you there's a triple
00:40negative that it's part of the game today in a big way.
00:44The most important part is to make sure your pitchers, catchers, infielders, coaches, nobody's giving anything away.
00:55Now, the Brewers aren't going to come out in the middle of a series and say, hey, if you go
00:59out there and throw Mason Miller, we know what he's going to deliver.
01:02Like we have a read or we have the ability to tell the batter what is coming.
01:07There is video out from runners on second base who are signaling in some way to the batter, maybe Jackson
01:14Cheerio, who then delivered the game winning hit.
01:17That is part of baseball that has been going on in baseball since the game began.
01:22It is gamesmanship.
01:23Is it is it illegal?
01:26No, it's only illegal if you use a device, the device like the Red Sox and the Astros and those
01:33teams that we're using different, you know, iPhones or Apple Watchers.
01:37Which is that makes it illegal.
01:40But having a guy on second base reading the catcher or reading the pitcher, looking at the grip of the
01:47baseball in the glove.
01:48This is all par for the course for the sport.
01:51OK, so if Mason Miller is tipping pitches, the Brewers aren't going to tell anyone that, yes, here's the read.
01:59But what they will do is a psychological game that Pat Murphy is playing there saying, well, you know, it
02:05is part of the game.
02:06But if it is part of the game, we're going to make sure that our guys are not doing it.
02:12We're going to make sure our catchers and infielders and pitchers and coaches that everyone understands that they are trying
02:19to steal our signs.
02:20And we're not going to allow that to happen.
02:23But we might be stealing their signs.
02:25We're not going to tell you if we do or we don't.
02:27But we are going to hopefully or try to do it.
02:32So this is all gamesmanship.
02:34And if Mason Miller comes into the game tonight, the question has to be how many outs will the Padres
02:40ask him to get?
02:41Because they asked him to get six in game two and he couldn't do it because the kid that changed
02:48everything in Milwaukee is having a hell of a series.
02:53Jackson Cheerio is right now the best young player in the National League.
02:59There are some really good players on the Dodgers and on the Phillies and other teams in the National League.
03:03But the best young player is Jackson Cheerio.
03:06His F war through the age of 22 is better than Barry Bonds and Robert Yowt, according to Fangraphs.
03:14He is already the franchise leader in postseason home runs with five.
03:20He is one RBI shy of Ryan Braun's lead for the most postseason RBIs in Brewers history.
03:28And the hit off of Mason Miller, if the Brewers go on to win the World Series,
03:33that's one of those moments that we're going to be talking about for a very long time.
03:37About how in the world the Brewers are going to be able, I mean, this team has a shot because
03:44of a young player like Jackson Cheerio when he was drafted three years ago.
03:47Four years ago, I guess.
03:49And what he has done since coming up for three years, he has just been electric for Milwaukee.
03:53The D数 winner goes for a week.
03:54But the trouble goes sticks over to beep.
