00:34The current legislation provides for total exemption only for diabetics, but we know that there are
00:42also some cases because the scientific community has introduced the use of these drugs
00:50even for overweight people with associated risk factors, because being overweight
00:55obesity can arise and the Italian State pays 17 for obesity, it supports a cost
01:02of 17 billion a year.
01:05In Sardinia we have 600,000 overweight people of which 170,000 are obese and we sustain costs
01:14huge amounts for the care and management of these patients.
01:19With the drug, a series of treatments could be reduced and complications could be avoided.
01:25The Lombardy region has already legislated in this sense, Piedmont has already presented a
01:30text of the law and we are the third region to address this important issue.
