Central Delhi witnessed tension as security personnel, including paramilitary forces and Delhi Police, were deployed across Connaught Place and routes leading to Jantar Mantar. Authorities closed shops, suspended internet services, and sealed entry points while shutting forty-five metro stations to restrict movement. Despite restrictions, groups of protesters, including students, reached the area on foot from outer sections to march towards Jantar Mantar. Protesters engaged in sloganeering against the government before police personnel, including women officers, intervened and detained several individuals across key inner and outer circle corridors.

00:00Going back to Anmol Bali at this point, there are, of course, fast-paced developments coming in from different parts
00:06of central Delhi.
00:08Anmol, you were showing us the heavy presence of paramilitary forces at Cannot Place even now.
00:14Now, they have been present since morning.
00:16Has the situation differed even a little since we were seeing tensions brew since morning?
00:23Because several have been detained. Is it the same now?
00:32Since morning, Shia, we are seeing that since 7 a.m., heavy deployment of paramilitary forces here at the Cannot
00:37Place.
00:37And not only in the morning, since the last night, we are seeing that all the shops around the Cannot
00:42Place have been closed.
00:43Internet has been shut by the authorities to control and pacify the situation.
00:47But due to the streets and the inner circle where many of the protesters hide,
00:52we are seeing that after a few minutes, they again gather and they try to come towards the outer circle
00:57from the inner circle,
00:58from the inner streets of the Cannot Place.
01:00They start sloganing against Ganesh Kumar and the BJP government.
01:03And then they try to head towards the Jantar Mantar via Janpat, Regal Cinema and other entry-in-exit points
01:10of the Cannot Place.
01:11And we have seen that administration has deployed large number of paramilitary forces as well as Delhi police personals to
01:19control them.
01:19But clearly, in the visuals, you can see that a few minutes ago, we have seen that sloganing took place
01:24here.
01:25A crowd was seen here where they were kind of sloganing against the BJP government and Ganesh Kumar.
01:31But later, heavy deployment of paramilitary as well as Delhi police was done here with the women personals also came
01:38here to detain the protesters.
01:39Because from this street, I'll show you in the visuals that from here, many of the protesters come towards the
01:46N block and towards the F block.
01:48And they try to march towards the Janpat, which goes towards the Jantar Mantar, which is just a few kilometers
01:54away from the Jantar Mantar,
01:56where they have given calls a few minutes ago.
01:58We have seen that large gathering of people here, those who are masked.
02:02And they were sloganing against the BJP government and CEC Ganesh Kumar and then police action initiated here,
02:08where they have detained many of the protesters, and many of the protesters ran towards the opposite direction.
02:14Shia.
02:15Absolutely.
02:16And Anmol, a lot of these forces that have been deployed in central Delhi,
02:21so several of these entry points, in fact, all of the entry points to central Delhi have completely shut down.
02:28Now, one question remains, if all of these entry points have been shut down since morning,
02:33how is it that these groups of people reached these very areas to protest as well?
02:39Because, you know, police is clearing places out and we see more of such protesters making their way,
02:46be it in smaller groups, but they are nonetheless making their way.
02:49How is it that they are getting entry into these very locations in the first place?
02:59Shia, today in the morning I spoke with various of the protesters.
03:03They were students, those who have come to the Knot place to march towards the Jantar Mantra,
03:08because today we have seen that the Kaukrat Janta Party has given a call at 10 a.m. to gather
03:12at the Jantar Mantra,
03:13but on the other hand, heavy deployment of paramilitary forces and Delhi police was done to stop them.
03:17And the students with whom I spoke came from the Badarpur and I asked them how you have reached here,
03:22because 45 metro stations have been closed, roads, entry and exit points towards the Knot place,
03:26and the Jantar Mantra all are closed.
03:28So they clearly told me that they came from the Badarpur via buses and from there they walked towards the
03:33CP.
03:34So this is how many of the protesters, those who are in the central Delhi, in the Knot place,
03:39are reaching to these points to march towards the Jantar Mantra.
03:42They are kind of coming to the outer sections of the central Delhi,
03:46and then from there they walk around 3 to 4 kilometers to reach the CP and Janpath Road to reach
03:53Jantar Mantra.
03:54But on the other hand, we are also seeing that heavy barricading by the Delhi police,
03:58checkpoints have been made at the entry and the exit points of the central Delhi area,
04:03especially the Knot place and the Jantar Mantra area,
04:06where police is asking people that why you are going towards the central area,
04:09what is your work to go towards the central area and various other questions.
04:13And then they are allowing people to come towards the Knot place, Janpath and the Jantar Mantra area.
04:19Absolutely, Anmol, thank you for bringing us those details.
04:23Viewers, these are the updates that we are bringing to you as of this hour from the National Capital,
04:29where we have witnessed protests, we have witnessed detentions,
04:33we have witnessed fortification of the National Capital on October 10th.
