Tensions intensified in the national capital following protests over alleged electoral roll irregularities. Left-wing student organisations, including AISA and SFI, launched a flash demonstration at Connaught Place, heading towards Jantar Mantar before being detained by Delhi Police, central paramilitary forces, and personnel requisitioned from Uttar Pradesh. The development follows the earlier preventative detention of Cockroach Janata Party leaders and YouTuber Dhruv Rathee. The party accused authorities of illegal detention, procedural violations, and shielding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Concurrently, the Supreme Court directed authorities to review barricades across Delhi, restore internet connectivity, and ensure public transport is not entirely restricted. Emphasising that security measures must be proportionate without bringing normal life to a complete standstill, the court instructed officials to identify suitable sites for lawful demonstrations. While central Delhi routes experienced ongoing traffic diversions, standard operations including metro, rail services, and commercial establishments continued.

00:01The battle over alleged electoral roll irregularities has only intensified in the national capital amid CJP call for another round
00:10of protests.
00:11Abhijit Deepke, Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka, after being released from preventative detention with a condition that they will maintain peace
00:20for one year, lashed out at the Modi government.
00:23CJP has launched a sharp attack on the government and the Delhi police over the handling of the protest.
00:30It has alleged that the government is trying to shield the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, and that its leaders
00:36were kidnapped from inside a flight.
00:38That's the exact word used, kidnapped, abducted.
00:41CJP has further alleged that no reasons were given for the detentions, no due procedure was followed.
00:47They also said that police personnel entered a gurudwara with their shoes on, thereby insulting the sentiments of the Sikh
00:55community.
00:56This is the Bangla Sahib gurudwara that's being referred to.
01:00YouTuber Dhruvrati, meanwhile, was detained as well from Gurugram, ahead of the Kokrot Janata Party protest, was released in the
01:06VRs itself today.
01:08Supreme Court, meanwhile, has directed authorities to review barricades across Delhi, restore internet services, and ensure there is no total
01:15ban on public transport.
01:17The court has also asked for the free movement of public to be restored and directed the authorities to explore
01:22other suitable options and sites for lawful protests.
01:26The bench has underlined that security measures must remain proportionate and cannot completely bring normal life in the capital to
01:35a standstill.
01:36Meanwhile, Delhi continues to function with metro services, internet connectivity, railway stations, shops and restaurants, and liquor outlets remaining open
01:46for the day.
01:46A lot of which, in fact, remained shut yesterday on October 10th.
01:50However, traffic diversions still remain in place on key routes across central Delhi as security arrangements continue to be in
01:58place.
01:58Let's first take a look at the responses, some from the very press conference itself, except from what either of
02:05the co-founders and spokesperson had to say.
02:10It's the second day of the protest in New Delhi, and now we see the left front student have hit
02:16the street, and now they are being detained from Connaught Place, the Delhi Police, CRP, even the police forces from

02:39left-group students.
02:41They all came out in a huge number at Connaught Place.
02:44It was like a flash protest.
02:46They came at Connaught Place.
02:47Now, one van full of these protesters who have been detained, being taken by the police, so they just get
02:55out of this area.
02:57They came surprisingly.
02:58However, the police forces, the deployment was adequate, and since this morning, the whole area was fortified, and now as
03:09we see, the protesters are being taken.
03:12It's a massive, massive protest at Connaught Place.
03:15So this all area that was mocked by these protesters that came out, now they are being detained, and because
03:23of the fortified area, they could not cross.
03:25Now we see the RAF has been placed in this area.
03:28So the moment, these are the group, the students from ISA, from SFI, from YKS, largely the left-group students
03:35who came here to protest.
03:36The moment they try...
03:41Okay, so not only adequate number of the RAF, we also see the women, Jawaans, from the UP police have
03:47also been called in.
03:48that's we see the kind of preparation and the panic that the arrangement was
03:53made by the administration clearly and clear you know anticipating that this is
03:58being Sunday probably this would go at the you know the level that that could
04:04probably be number of that was seen on Saturday the buses will be taking them

05:15So, these are SFI and ISA's people who have got rid of the police.
