Congress and opposition parties have initiated widespread protests demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Ganesh Kumar, organising a mass mobilisation to march from Barakhamba Road to the Supreme Court. The Bharatiya Janata Party countered the agitation, asserting that the opposition questions EVMs, the Election Commission, and the judiciary whenever electoral outcomes do not favour them, alleging that Rahul Gandhi is attempting to politicise and intimidate constitutional institutions to prop up his political career. Congress workers and leaders assembled across venues, including Himachal Bhavan and Indira Bhavan, preparing to submit a memorandum regarding alleged malpractices in the Special Intensive Revision process. Although the Chief Justice of India declined to meet the leaders, opposition representatives confirmed they respect the decision while continuing their march.

00:00Congress, meanwhile, as political elected representatives, are initiating their own level of protest and asking all opposition parties, civil society
00:08groups and citizens to join in.
00:10What is the BJP saying in response to all of this? Let's listen in.
00:59This is strong.
00:59तो मानने नयायले को काड़ घरे में खड़ा करने का प्रियास भारत की जनता लोक्तांत्रिक दिस्से बहुत जागरूक है वह
01:13इस अराजकता को स्विकार नहीं करेगे
01:16Rahul Gandhi's anarchic attempts to politicize our constitutional institutions repeatedly,
01:25this time our judiciary, is nothing but sinister conspiracy to weaken our national unity.
01:34For more than a decade after facing repeated political failures, Rahul Gandhi has now become
01:40unstable and unhinged. And in this desperation, he is trying to threaten and intimidate our
01:46constitutional institutions to pro-purpose fail political career.
01:52Heading our National Affairs Bureau, Munish Pant is on the ground speaking to the Himachal Pradesh
01:57Chief Minister. He's now joining me. Munish, you tell me, what does it look like for the
02:01Congress show of strength? They are getting all the chief ministers together. Where did you get
02:05the chief minister to be speaking? What is the protest looking like?
02:14Well, Pooja, at this point of time, we are at Himachal Bhawan, which is in Mandi House area. And you
02:19can see
02:19thousands of the Congress workers have gathered here. This is one of the gathering points where
02:25the Congress workers were asked to come and then they will be marching towards the Barakhamba road.
02:32From Barakhamba road, they will be joined by Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and other India bloc leaders
02:38like Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerji. But as far as, you know, it is concerned, you know, today's gathering
02:46is concerned. Congress has made a mass mobilization and they will be marching from Barakhamba road to
02:52Supreme Court. I spoke to the chief minister just a while back and they, he is saying that their demands
02:59is very clear. Their demand is that Ganesh Kumar, the chief election commissioner, should resign. But at the
03:05very same time, Pooja, it has to be seen that whether, you know, when the matter is already subjudice,
03:11whether that decision will be taken by or not. Because as far as the election commissioner is concerned,
03:17you know, they have made the declaration before the Supreme Court that nothing was done, which was illegal.
03:24So in that situation, whether that call will be taken by the CEC or, you know, by any other person,
03:33that will be seen. As far as Bharti Janta Party is concerned, they are saying that the Congress
03:37Party, the India bloc members are politicizing this matter. There is nothing wrong with the SIR process.
03:44But Congress, today they are saying that it will be a huge mass mobilization of Congress leaders and
03:50they will be marching towards the Supreme Court today, which is plotted from 1.30 p.m. to 4 o
03:57'clock, Pooja.
03:581.30 p.m. to 4 o'clock can extend as well, depending what we have seen in the past
04:04few weeks.
04:04Mudish, I request you to please stay on. Rahul Gautam, who closely tracks the opposition,
04:08especially the Congress Party, is also joining me. Rahul, where are you presently?
04:12What do you think the arrangements are like for the Delhi police? Because what we have seen with
04:16the CJPs, absolutely no chances are being taken. Nobody is being allowed to even touch
04:21down to the protest venue. What do you understand about this protest?
04:30Pooja, currently I am at Indra Bhavan, where Rahul Gandhi is going to hold a press conference
04:35just a short while from now. And in fact, I'll just show you some visuals here. You can see
04:41Jairam Ramesh, who's the General Secretary of Communication, along with Pawan Kheda. They're
04:45already here. And in fact, we've been informed from our sources that at 1 p.m., the entire
04:51opposition block leaders are going to meet at Constitutional Club, wherein they're going
04:56to have tea over there. They're going to strategize over the future calls of action. And from there,
05:02they'll proceed towards Barak Kamba Road, which is actually the assembling point for all the
05:07Congress workers, opposition workers, opposition leaders, you know, for march. And from there,
05:12around 1.30, we can say that the march will begin towards Supreme Court of India. We already know
05:19that how CGI has already declined the request. However, sources are telling to us that Congress
05:24had an inkling about it, that the request might not be entertained. And they are saying that they
05:31fully respect the decision that has been taken by CGI. However, they just wanted to go and apply
05:36CGI, just wanted to go and hand over a memorandum, you know, listing the Elish malpractices,
05:42all the wrongdoings of CAC Gyanesh Kumar. So therefore, they are saying that that's absolutely
05:49fine with them, that if CGI is not wishing to meet with them.
