The national capital witnessed intense political confrontations as the INDIA bloc and the BJP staged counter-protests across central Delhi. Opposition parties organised a demonstration march towards the Supreme Court, seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision process, despite the Chief Justice of India turning down a prior meeting request. In retaliation, BJP members and women MPs staged an agitation outside the Congress headquarters over sexual harassment allegations that led to the dismissal of Congress MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam from Jawaharlal Nehru University. With effigy burnings and demonstrations on both sides, security was stepped up across the capital.
