00:01Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia on Monday of violating an energy ceasefire
00:06announced by US President Donald Trump just a day prior. Zelensky said Russia struck a Ukrainian
00:12gas production facility and a petrol station overnight into Monday, while Ukraine had refrained
00:17from attacking Russian oil refineries, abiding by the ceasefire it thought was reciprocal.
00:23Speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum, Zelensky questioned whether Moscow had agreed to the
00:28proposal at all. He argued that he had not seen any official acknowledgement of the
00:33ceasefire by the Kremlin, nor has his country witnessed a let-up on attacks on its energy
00:37infrastructure. We are waiting for the details of the conversation between the Americans and the
00:44Russians, and we are waiting to see what specific steps the Americans are ready to take. This energy
00:51ceasefire can work, and it can become a major step toward ending the war if the Americans truly step
01:00in now and make sure Russia respects the energy ceasefire." The Ukrainian leader added that
01:09Kyiv itself had not been consulted on the ceasefire, which they later supported, and had learned about
01:14it like everyone else through the media. Despite the continued attacks, he said Kyiv remained willing
01:20to observe a reciprocal halt to strikes on energy infrastructure. Addressing the forum, Zelensky
01:26stressed, quote, we agree if they agree, and offered to sign formal guarantees of such if Washington
01:32deemed it necessary.
