00:56stafford last year they were all division winners except for matthew stafford last year they were
01:05second in their division only to the eventual super bowl chance the seattle seahawks and so
01:12this is a team that is going to have to perform better as a whole if if if golf is
01:20going to have
01:20a chance to win the the mvp that makes sense and it kind of ties everything together that we've been
01:25talking about i mentioned you know he had the sunday night performance against the panthers with
01:29the ball and didn't win the game those those moments are big with nfl media what you do in prime
01:34time at the end of the year they're going to play three or four games in division including a sunday
01:39night game at minnesota who's currently in first place if you win the division with good performances
01:43you tie all the narratives together and you have a real chance to win the mvp okay so drake may

01:49not held accountable for uh not scoring against the seahawks at the end of the game and throwing
01:53quite possibly the worst pass of all time in the nfl i mean i'm dead serious oh i tom i

03:05your record is really good outside of matthew stafford in 25 and mahomes back in 18 where there
03:14was only 16 games still at that time those are the only two quarterbacks where their team was
03:19a 12 win team everyone else 13 or 14 wins and do we think that there's 13 or 14 wins
03:26for this team
03:27i don't know and so i don't i don't know that if if they end up even if golf has
03:35some game winning
03:36drives and he continues this path of throwing touchdowns and no throw not throwing interceptions
03:42if they're an 11 win team even i think for him a 12 win team i don't think that he
03:49has a shot at
03:50winning the the mvp last year he was second in yards and touchdowns he was not a candidate the year
03:57they won 15 games he finished fifth right what does he have to do to legitimately be an mvp
04:07or i guess even a finalist because right now he's not even in the top five and he's barely in

04:19one of the things i was thinking about is why he's getting disrespected is when you watch the broadcast
04:25all they talk about is how many weapons he has to work with so does he get discounted because they
04:32give more credit to all the other weapons like gives and st brown and laporta williams is that
04:40what's going on um well okay let's look at the weapons that matthew stafford had last year
04:47puka dakua devante adams who led the league in touchdown catches cairo williams
04:54brock brock he's got christian mccaffrey and george kittle and now this year mike evans
04:59you know one thing i was always thinking about stafford is i felt like he got disrespected
05:03because he had calvin johnson they're like oh he had calvin but you know when you think about him
05:08he had calvin who he made look great he went there and all of a sudden cooper cup has his
05:13best year
05:14or better year than year before by far and then he's got puka nakua right he's always got these
05:21elite guys is it stafford or the elite guys who makes who great you know and the same thing you
05:27could say about golf who makes who great that's that's that's that's a good question golf's a bit
05:36of a chicken or the egg uh because it's well documented he is not going to buy time in the
05:40pocket
05:41himself he needs an offensive line to give him that time but when he processes quickly exactly
05:46and he not like well every quarterback good with a clean pocket he's better yeah than most quarterbacks
05:52with a clean pocket because he's on time he can process he's an accurate thrower of the football
05:56he's very good on play action well above the league average he's one of the best play action quarterbacks
06:01in football so like but to unlock all that you do have to you have to pass set for him

06:06other quarterbacks how much is it is it the stigma of what sean mcveigh had to say and how things

06:26of assets around
06:26him but the biggest thing i think is is the fact that he can't scramble uh and they're not winning
06:33games and i think if you know last year they would have won uh and gone further uh i think

06:39definitely would have been in contention this year with his play but because the consistency is not
06:44there his ability to his inability to scramble i think that's i think that's killing him uh you know
06:51in in those rankings or not rankings but odds odds yeah um i mean i think that's that's that's probably
06:58part of the stigma of jared goff is that he's just not a mobile quarterback because you look at all
07:03these other guys and they they have some at different levels but some public pocket mobility
07:08yeah yeah um i mean even look at tom brady right he didn't scramble very often you know he's a
07:16pocket
07:17passer but he made things happen uh when he needed to and jared just can't do that yeah i also
07:23think the
07:24game i mean look peyton manning was a statue of all statues he's got the most mvps of all time
07:28it's just not that same league anymore you know that's that's some of it guys who are winning the
07:32mvp stafford did it last year he's not that mobile but lamar and josh allen and mahomes some of the
07:40techs coming in golf will never win the mvp he's not flashy enough for it to happen ends the text

07:56but he's not sexy enough in regards to the plays that he makes um um so is there a chance

08:14and i don't think it's possible but if he drags them with this defense to a 12 win season is

08:25doing more work yes from the quarterback position and the offense then maybe a 14 win uh san francisco
08:35team or a 14 win kansas city team if their defense ranks in the bottom five of football and they
08:41win 12
08:42games and the nfc north it's not going to be because jerry goff was okay it's going to be
08:47because he was great yes so i got a little bit of flack on attack saying it's a panthers d

08:52the seahawks d in terms of drake may in that game yeah start the year did you see the third
08:57interception
08:58oh it was terrible it was one of the worst passes ever the game was 13 to 10 it was
09:02third down and he
09:04literally decided made the choice to throw the ball up in the air and it was basically right to the
09:10seahawks defender yeah has jared goff done that this year no and quite honestly what has burrow done
09:18since he took that team to the super bowl what has he done correct and by the way not not
09:23to tear
09:24down the entire narrative of joe burrow because i do think he's a good quarterback okay we're talking
09:29about the best quarterbacks here i want people to go back and really look at how they got to the
09:33super bowl they got stops and they kicked field goals
09:40yeah but he's a quarterback i know and i'm not trying to turn into the bro hater he matched
09:45patrick mahomes that's only been done by tom brady in the playoffs and jalen hurts about go back and
09:50look they kicked a lot of field goals settled for a lot of field goals and got a bunch of
09:54stops
09:55including a big stop in the red zone with louis adoromo's defense against mahomes they were doing a
09:59that's kind of like that's kind of like the knock on may i just said he didn't have a may
10:03moment then
10:03right you know he managed the game kind of like jared goff usually does minus the uh commander's
10:08yeah but one's viewed very differently than the other yeah that commander's game is is forever
10:12going to be a sore subject he played terribly in that commander's game sure um a few more texts
10:19it says may ahead of goff is insane prescott ahead of him what are we doing uh but how about

10:30there are about 15 quarterbacks you could put in this scheme with this with these weapons and have
10:35similar success oh i 100 disagree with that assertion although i will we were just talking
10:41about burrow and what's he done since the super bowl i if joe burrow is in this offense with these
10:45weapons i think it would be ridiculous he his mobility his escapability in the pocket not necessarily
10:55to run the ball but to move in the pocket and buy a second more to find that guy leaking

11:32it feels more realistic than golf going for 45 touchdowns another one says um why isn't gibbs
