Delhi-NCR has implemented Stage 1 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) after air quality deteriorated to the ‘Poor’ category. Delhi’s AQI climbed to 244 on October 21, prompting the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to activate 25 pollution-control measures across the region. These include dust control at construction sites, mechanised road sweeping, restrictions on open waste burning and tighter checks on polluting vehicles. Authorities are also strengthening public transport and monitoring pollution sources to prevent further deterioration.
