Shagrat – Pink Jackets Required 1969-1970 (UK, Psychedelic Rock)

hodgepodge of tracks from two greats, Steve Peregrin Took and Twink. some of which were apparently recorded under the project moniker of Shagrat, hence the name for the album. a couple of tracks here were on Twink's "Think Pink" LP, included also here I guess b/c of Took's involvement. in any case (and despite the dubious nature of these recordings given Twink's apparent vault-raiding uh, "revisionism"), this is an essential listen if you're interested in the music of either of these folks, or UK acid-folk and/or early '70s heavy fuzz in general. if you really dig on this, do track down the "Steve Took's Shagrat" released a few years back by Captain Trip Records of Japan.robbuschgans Jun 16 2005
