00:01Paul, in fact, 6-0 win against Braintree on a very wet and windy day.
00:05Five goals for George Alexander in his second game for the club.
00:08Yeah, sort of a pleasing afternoon there.
00:10Yeah, it was a great afternoon.
00:11Yeah, Paul, some of the football that we played, first half, one touch, was excellent.
00:18Credit to the boys, you know, we've had a little bit of a break.
00:21I said to them before the game, you know, we've had a break, we should be fresh.
00:25And I want us to go out the blocks and really turn it on and be brave with the ball
00:28and be comfortable on it.
00:30And they delivered.
00:31Yeah, two weeks since that Salisbury game and you were out of the trap so quickly.
00:34I mean, 2-0 in six minutes, wasn't it?
00:36And could have been more early on as well.
00:37It could have been, yeah.
00:38I thought, you know, the way we broke, you know, we took the first two chances, I think, that we
00:42had.
00:43But credit to the boys, you know, Miles and George up top.
00:46They were a real handful today.
00:49Miles' enthusiasm and his hold-up play.
00:51And his link-up with George, they click straight away.
00:54And, you know, we brought George in now and he's a goal scorer.
00:57And you just see his movement in the box from the first two crosses, that he was in for a
01:01good day.
01:02Yeah, George is only second game from the club.
01:04And it's sort of a new partnership with Miles as well.
01:06Because, obviously, they started to get together today.
01:08And it seemed to link up well there.
01:10Yeah, it's the first time together.
01:12And, yeah, it was really positive.
01:15Yeah, not, you know, barring what I've said, you know, I thought it was excellent first half.
01:20And it could have been a few more.
01:21But we had to regroup second half.
01:24And we knew the chances the second half can bring when you're so dominant.
01:27And how complacent you can get in these games.
01:30And it's about how good we can be and where we want to go as a group.
01:33And you set the tone in these games.
01:35So, if you want to be up there and compete in there, you're relentless.
01:38And I thought the boys were second half.
01:39Yeah, I'm guessing that was, obviously, pretty much what you said at half-time.
01:42And then, you know, at 2-0, and you do go on, you know, 3-4-5-6.
01:46Real sort of ruthless dominance there, isn't it?
01:49It is, yeah.
01:49Yeah, you know, it's a squad game because the subs have had to come on.
01:54You know, raining all afternoon on the sideline, you know, warming up,
01:58getting cold, warming up, getting cold.
02:00And, you know, they could have come on and sort of froze.
02:03But they lay rose to the occasion as well and played their part.
02:05So, you know, again, he's come in first game.
02:07And he looks good for the complete player as well.
02:10I think we've got another one there.
02:13And he's come in, yeah, across straight on the money for Bill to volley in
02:16and call it sweet.
02:17And, yeah, that's the stuff.
02:18Yeah, and then the second one was Marcel from the right,
02:21his usual position then, sort of on the right back.
02:24Yeah, yeah, you know, it's his first game of the season
02:27and he's been keeping himself fit.
02:29And you can see the enthusiasm just for him to be out there.
02:32And, yeah, we won the ball really well down in this left-hand corner
02:36and we transferred it.
02:37And then Bob rolled him in and, yeah, the rest is in the back of the net.
02:41Just a word on him.
02:42Obviously, you got him in sort of in the break, you know.
02:44He obviously played at Boston, obviously, a lot last season.
02:46Got good pedigree and obviously a really, really good debut today.
02:49It's a great debut, yeah.
02:50So it's a position that's jinxed us this season.
02:53You know, we've used six right-backs in like 11 games with injuries.
02:58And, yeah, he's coming in the break.
03:00And he's impressed in training, you know.
03:02You can see his professionalism, his upbringing in football
03:05and last year at Boston.
03:07Yeah, he looks a good one to this level, for sure.
03:10Obviously, you know, George has five goals,
03:12but his movement just always looks a threat, doesn't it?
03:14You know, and only his second game as well to hit the ground running.
03:17Yeah, you can tell, you know.
03:19He's a proper goal scorer.
03:20He's a proper nine.
03:22You know, we're lucky we got him.
03:23I think all his goals were in the six-yard box,
03:26barring a penalty.
03:28And that's where you've got to be if you want to be a top striker.
03:31And, yeah, that's what he is.
03:32And I'm glad we got him.
03:34Obviously, sort of that increased competition,
03:36Sam Evans goes out.
03:37I guess, you know, obviously, you can guarantee minutes, can you?
03:39So it's just one of those, isn't it?
03:40Yeah.
03:40He sort of moves on, doesn't he?
03:42So, yeah.
03:42Yeah, yeah.
03:43Wish Sam all the way.
03:44He started really well at K's.
03:45You know, he's got four goals as well.
03:47OK, so that's what he needed.
03:49Yeah, you know, we move on.
03:51And George has come in and set the zone.
03:53Five goals.
03:54Can't do any better, can you?
03:57And injury front, Dan Bailey's working his way back.
03:59So he's obviously, he's gone on a 28-day loan at Basingstoke.
04:01And that will just, you know, get him up and running minutes-wise, won't it?
04:04Yeah, it's what he needs.
04:05He's been patient, you know, with his injuries.
04:07He's been there all the time.
04:08He's been at every game, every training session,
04:11trying to get himself in the best shape he can.
04:14But, yeah, he's gone Basingstoke.
04:16And they've got a lot of games,
04:17which is going to do him really well as well.
04:20And the two-week break,
04:21and you can get Jack Spong back in
04:22and Sam Hutchinson back in at the start.
04:24And, you know, it really worked out well there.
04:27Yeah.
04:27Yeah, I think, you know,
04:29you know, sort of,
04:30sort of, on the day,
04:31we're better than what Braintree were today.
04:33But you can see the difference we are with Hutch and Spong in there.
04:36Spong was massive today,
04:37the way he controls the midfield
04:39and his composure on the ball and what he sees.
04:42And, yeah, it's great to have them two back.
04:45And just a word, you know,
04:46a lot of money has gone in on the pitch over the summer.
04:49And today was the best real test, weather-wise, wasn't it?
04:52It's come through it.
04:53So, yeah.
04:55Yeah, I think, yeah,
04:55if we had any delay in kick-off,
04:57we might have struggled.
04:58But, yeah, I was so surprised,
05:00you know, after yesterday's rain
05:02to see, to even get a chance of getting the game on.
05:05And then, obviously, it was bone dry
05:08all the way up until kick-off, really.
05:09And, yeah, it's just been relentless.
05:11But, yeah, credit to the ground team.
05:14Getting the game on is much needed.
05:16A quick turnaround to Chesham on Tuesday now, isn't it?
05:19So, yeah.
05:20Yeah, you know, just got to stay focused.
05:22It's a great home win.
05:23Six goals, not get carried away of it.
05:25And there's a new challenge on Tuesday
05:27and the group's healthy.
05:28So, there we go again.
05:30Yeah, and games come speaking fast
05:31in the next couple of weeks.
05:33Dover, Saturday, Chelmsford, Rundain,
05:34then home to Tunbridge.
05:35But, coming after the two-week break,
05:37I guess you're kind of really ready for that, aren't you?
05:39Yeah, it's been perfect.
05:41You know, five real good sessions under our belts
05:43and the boys, obviously,
05:44coming back from injuries as well,
05:47getting back amongst the group.
05:48And, yeah, it's been good to have those sessions
05:50and, yeah, we just want the games now.
