00:00Still trending internationally, G1 Supercard, but now we begin the double main event, Ring of Honor World Championship, triple threat
00:11ladder match, the villain Marty Skrull, the self-proclaimed, professed, real world champion, Matt Taven, and the Ring of Honor
00:17champion, the man that's held it longer than anyone else, over two combined reigns with the most defenses of all
00:23time, the Ring of Honor World Champion, Jay Lethal Championship, will be hung high above the ring,
00:28and this is our Ring of Honor main event.
00:34Ever since I was six years old, I've wanted this very moment.
00:40It's that little kid inside of me, who many years ago just dreamed of wrestling, watched on television, on the
00:47internet.
00:49I've wrestled all over the world, I've been waiting to win this championship.
00:55Ever since I stepped into a wrestling ring for the first time, I knew that this moment would come.
01:00And I can't think of a better place to be the man who stands in front of all, as the
01:05Ring of Honor World Champion.
01:07Everything leads to Madison Square Garden.
01:10Madison Square Garden.
01:14Madison Square Taylor.
01:19You know, for over a year and a half, I've been talking about a kingdom conspiracy.
01:24I thought that this company was holding me down, but maybe it was all part of a big master plan.
01:30Maybe this company was waiting for this moment.
01:33Maybe they knew that they needed a star to headline this major event, and no one is a bigger star
01:40than Matt Taven.
01:41I feel like the reason why I haven't won the title previously is because I'm destined to win it at
01:50MSG.
01:51And I ask myself the question, if not at Madison Square Garden, then when I have to win the championship
02:03at Madison Square Garden?
02:06If I don't, I don't really know where my career goes from here.
02:12What a heartfelt moment for myself to walk into Madison Square Garden as the Ring of Honor World Champion,
02:20and what obviously I'm about to do.
02:23And the only thing that could top that, that's leaving Madison Square Garden still the Ring of Honor World Champion.
02:36Man, that'd be awesome.
02:40Well, the time is upon us.
02:42Ring of Honor's main event right now at the commentary position.
02:46It is myself, international wrestling star Colt Cabana, and the NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis.
02:54Nick, you're joined by Camille with the 10 pounds of gold.
02:56We've seen the ladders.
02:58We know the stakes at hand.
02:59That's unbelievable.
03:00Somebody's life will change forever after tonight.
03:03I can't wait.
03:04And I'm just here to see as a business investment.
03:07Nick, we know that you will face Marty Scurll coming up at the Crockett Cup April 27th.
03:11If he should win, we know NWA, we know Ring of Honor.
03:14They've been in discussions for having a title for title match.
03:19But right now, let's bring out your opponent on that date,
03:22the first of our three competitors for this triple threat.
03:27Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:28Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:31Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:39Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:44Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:45Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:46Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:46Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:46Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:47Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:48Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:50Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:50Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
03:56Ring of Honor, World Heavyweight Champion.
04:18Will tonight be the night that a villain's destiny is fulfilled?
04:24A man on his third night captured.
04:28The Ring of Honor World Television Championship.
04:30A star of the world over.
04:32One third of the Ring of Honor World Six Man Champions.
04:35Marty's Girl enters tonight.
04:37The number one contender by virtue of winning survival of the fittest.
04:42And Nick Aldis, this is a man you've grown up with that you know so well.
04:46Absolutely. Look, we can put our rivalry to one side for one night
04:49and I can say with my heart and soul that when I picked up a 16-year-old shy kid
04:55from Littleport in Cambridge here in my beat-up Fiat Punto
04:58to drive to Dropkicks Wrestling Academy,
05:01I believed in my heart that one day we would be at Madison Square Garden
05:06and to see him in this match, I'm so full of pride, I'm so happy.
05:10But at the same time, the stakes are very high and it's very important to me
05:15what happens in this match-up.
05:18For a man like the villain, you gotta wonder if this match favors him, Colt.
05:23You gotta wonder what's in the umbrella, what's in the ladders, what's up his sleeve,
05:27what kind of tricks Marty's Girl may use.
05:29Yeah, he's full of trickery and he loves this kind of match, situation, whatever it might be.
05:38You heard him in that package, he said he has to win this
05:41and if he doesn't, he doesn't know where his career is going after this.
05:45It doesn't get any more important than that.
05:48Marty's Girl, the villain's triple threat.
05:53One man will walk out.
05:55The winner of the main event on the Ring of Honor,
05:59half of the double main event and write their name in the history books forever.
06:04Marty's Girl may be that man.
06:10What do we got here?
06:45is a man who identifies?
06:47as the real ring of honor world champion one of the great outfits here in ring of honor
06:56adorning the crown he's one of only two men to capture championships in ring of honor new japan
07:01and cmll he's a man who's held every championship in ring of honor with the exception nick galdis
07:09of the one that will be hoisted high above the ring and let's face it when you're as decorated
07:14it is matt taven when you've been all over the world you've made a name for yourself
07:17but you haven't won the big one it eats away at you until you do and if you don't it
07:24will eat
07:25away at you for the rest of your life david's been ever confident colt he's believed for quite some
07:33time after that visual pinball and then ring of honor world champion dalt castle back in fairfax
07:40virginia that he would be real mad david real ring of honor world champion well i know a lot of
07:49people are picking matt david to win this out here yeah but we saw to bring it back to very
07:56early
07:56in their show dalton castle i mean he quote unquote beat a man that was pinned in basically 20 seconds
08:06so
08:08the reality is is can you beat jay lethal he's the man with the championship most decorated champion
08:14ring of honor history not dalton castle but it's high time to start talking about matt david who's held
08:21in gold everywhere he's been tonight he takes his grateful spot in the main event and he does so
08:27against the man with the most combined days in history as ring of honor world champion the most
08:34combined defenses in history in ring of honor history and he's got some swagger to him
08:44and the man who takes the stage less than a 15-minute ride from his childhood home
08:49in elizabeth new jersey a man who's trapped of one day competing in the garden and he comes in the
08:57ring of
08:57honor world champion we call him the franchise jay lethal now over 700 days combined
09:18ring of honor champion across two reigns stick it was in fairfax in that very same match where we
09:24start matt caven has a title one and jay lethal ultimately walked out the champion there's a reason
09:29that jay lethal is the conscience of ring of honor because he is constantly at the top of his game
09:35and
09:35to him this night walking out as the world champion in madison square garden is the defining
09:42moment of his career and his life you think that he's not focused and not ready the thing i love
09:47about
09:48this is you're witnessing three guys here in their primes with all the preparation all the mental
09:54preparation they need all the strategy it's all going to come to a head here tonight in the garden
10:00this is the main event
10:07and this is the site that brings a tear to my eye the man who's carried the torch carried the
10:13flag for
10:13ring of honor hey you might you might call him the franchise i call him teacher's pet that's what
10:19i call him jay lethal has done everything and more for ring of honor and now there is no better
10:27time
10:28to take it to the voice of ring of honor bobby cruz for our main event introduction
10:36following contest is the first half of your g1 supercard double main event it is a triple threat
10:45ladder match scheduled for one fall and it is for the ring of honor world championship
10:55the only way to obtain victory in this match is for a competitor to climb a ladder and grab the
11:03championship belt hanging above the ring introducing challenger number one wrestling out of cambridge england
11:16weighing 195 pounds he's representing villain enterprises and he's a co-holder of the ring of honor
11:25world six-man tag team championship the world world six-man tag team championship the villain
11:31marty scurr
11:34marty scurr believes he's destined for this moment after coming up short last year
11:44challenger number two is resting on a boston massachusetts
11:52and i love for boston here in the garden
11:57weighing 227 pounds he's representing the kingdom
12:04man
12:06tave
12:08tave with all the confidence in the world looking to become the ring of honor world champion
12:26jay
12:28tave
12:34russia
12:40russin elizabeth new jersey
12:43I have never seen Jay Lethal this amp in my life
12:49There is something to his step
12:51He looks more than ready
12:53But as you know, Colt, that can work against you
12:56If you have the adrenaline dump too early in a matchup like this
13:00You've got to have eyes in the back of your head
13:02This is a three-way match and it's a ladder match
13:05I mean, it's hard enough with a three-way match
13:07When it's just regular stipulation
13:08Because you've got to always have eyes in the back of your head
13:11To make sure that someone's not there to make the save
13:13Now, you've got to have eyes in the back of your head
13:15When you're halfway up a ladder
13:17The stakes are so high and it's so dangerous
13:20And there we see referee Paul Turner, Todd Sinclair
13:24Two of our finest
13:25Making sure it is completely strapped on
13:28We don't want or need any oopsies in this one, Ian
13:32Absolutely not
13:33As you see Taven and Lethal
13:35Whose story spans the last five years
13:38That amazing feud for the Ring of Honor World Television Championship
13:41In 2014 that accumulated in New York City
13:45At Field of Honor, that memorable cage match
13:48And now their stories intertwine once more
13:51And I think that's an opening, Nick
13:53I think it's an opening for Marty Skrull
13:55It's been such a vitriolous and violent feud
13:59Between Lethal and Taven
14:00They had that amazing 60-minute match in Las Vegas
14:03And Skrull suddenly becomes the third man out here
14:06And there is the bell
14:07Get the words right out of my mouth, Ian
14:09And see, look right away
14:10Where's Marty gone?
14:11Taven and Lethal are so consumed with their hatred of one another
14:15That if they keep their
14:16If that's going to be their primary focus
14:18Whoa!
14:20Well, he's not that consumed
14:21Because Jay Lethal
14:22Well aware that Marty Skrull
14:24Holding on to that ladder
14:25May have rolled them into a false sense of security there
14:28Strikes, exchange, knife, heads, chops
14:30Uppercuts
14:30There's a European uppercut from Marty Skrull
14:32I think the opening few minutes of this matchup
14:34Are going to be crucial
14:35As far as who can gain an upper hand
14:37And who
14:38Because the whole
14:38The ladder match
14:39Oh my god!
14:41Matt Taven!
14:42Well, you can see right now
14:43Matt Taven clutching at his wrist
14:46Maybe his forearm
14:47His elbow
14:48Willing to put it on the line
14:50But you knew that one
14:51Took a taxing toll on his body
14:53I'm amazed that he took a wrist like that
14:55So early in the matchup
14:56The key to a ladder match
14:58Is to incapacitate your opponent enough
15:00To where you can climb a ladder
15:02And get the belt down
15:03From hanging above the raft
15:05Well, that's your technique
15:06Doesn't seem to be the same
15:08You're talking to the real world's champion
15:09So maybe you should listen
15:10Oh, nice hit, toss
15:12Cartwheel
15:13Signature, Jay Lethal
15:14Mega valid point, Nick
15:16These guys are taking it to each other so early
15:18And these moves are happening on the floor
15:20That's a thin layer of padding
15:22But it's concrete under there
15:23Pump kick history being made
15:25Of course, the last time
15:26A non-WWE World Championship
15:28Decided here at Madison Square Garden
15:30Was the 10 pounds of gold
15:32Back in 1980, Nick
15:33Yes, sir
15:33Harley Race
15:35One of the greatest world champions
15:36Of all time
15:37And I'm very proud to be
15:39The next NWA World Champion
15:41To set foot in Madison Square Garden
15:43Nice snap, suplex from Lethal
15:46Lethal heading under the ring
15:48And if Marty Scurll wins this match
15:49I'll be very proud to hold
15:51The Ring of Honor World Championship
15:52And the NWA World Championship
15:53Long way to go for that
15:55As Lethal now
15:56Has chairs and ladders
15:59Galore
15:59Now driving the chair
16:00Into Scurll
16:02And interesting to note
16:04Splitting his attention
16:06Between both competitors
16:08You have to
16:09That's the whole
16:10That's why the three-way
16:12Is so different
16:13To a regular ladder match
16:14Because you're not focusing
16:16Just on one guy
16:17You've got to focus on both guys
16:18Because you're going to
16:19Set these situations up
16:20Like the one we're seeing right here
16:21And if you're not
16:22Incapacitating both opponents enough
16:24You leave yourself open
16:26What I just
16:27What I tell you
16:27Contraptions are being built
16:29As we speak
16:31Nice kick
16:32Under the hamstring
16:33It's Marty Scurll
16:35Tornado
16:35DDT delivers on Taven
16:37Driving the head
16:38Right into that
16:39Thin, thin mat
16:40Outside on the concrete
16:44Good opening here for Marty
16:46Yeah, Marty Scurll
16:47With a chance here
16:48To take the ladder
16:48Bring it right in
16:49And climb it
16:50Become the Ring of Honor
16:51World Champion
16:51And you've got to make a decision
16:52Do you continue to try
16:54To incapacitate
16:55Or do you go for the title
16:56That's the
16:56That's the
16:57That's the crucial decision
16:58You have to always make
16:59In a ladder match
17:01He took that ladder
17:02That was right
17:03Under the title
17:04Decided to go against it
17:07Contraptions again
17:08Being built
17:08I think he knows
17:09It's too early to
17:10Like mousetrap in there
17:11Because once you start climbing
17:13You leave yourself
17:14Very vulnerable
17:17You see Scurll
17:18Driving Taven
17:19Into the ladder
17:20And it's Scurll
17:21Sending Taven again
17:24Having his way
17:25With Matt Taven
17:26Is the villain
17:26Marty Scurll
17:27Atta boy
17:28This is great momentum
17:29For Marty
17:32World Champion
17:33J lethal
17:34Now sends Marty
17:34Into the ladder
17:38Not only did his leg
17:40Smack the steel ladder
17:41But then when he fell
17:42Backwards on the back
17:43Of his head
17:44I think all three
17:46Are very aware
17:46Of what they have
17:47Gotten themselves into
17:48And it is worth it
17:50Completely worth it
17:51It's all on the line
17:53Here tonight
17:54Only one man
17:55Will have their name
17:56Written in the history books
17:57As the man that
17:58Climbed the ladder
17:59And became
18:00Or retained
18:01The ring of honor
18:02World Championship
18:02At Madison Square Garden
18:04You're talking about
18:04Three very decorated guys
18:06But let's face it
18:07As far as their body
18:08Of work goes
18:09This will be
18:09The defining moment
18:11Of all of their careers
18:12At this moment in time
18:13I love the casual
18:15Dump of the ladder
18:16By J lethal
18:17Just going to work
18:18Driving the ladder
18:19Now into Taven
18:20Here's another casual dump
18:22Oh
18:24That time a little bit
18:25Of follow through
18:25Cool
18:28Lethal like that one
18:32Looking up now
18:33At the ladder
18:33Seeing just how high
18:35It is
18:36Above the ring
18:37Here at
18:37Madison Square Garden
18:38If I had to estimate
18:40Perhaps 12 to 15 feet
18:41Above the ring
18:43The world championship sits
18:46I got to give the devil
18:47His due
18:47Yeah
18:47I think J lethal
18:48A bit of a teacher's pet
18:49A bit of a custard foot
18:50If you will
18:50But I will say this
18:51He's probably the
18:52Superior strategist
18:53In this match
18:54He's the most experienced
18:55And he has the most
18:56Main event experience
18:57He's been the world champion
18:58For a long time
18:59And that's going to serve him
19:00Well in a match like this
19:01For nearly a year
19:02Lethal
19:03The world champion
19:05Now Irishman
19:07It's out of the way
19:09Lethal trying to do damage
19:11Into that ladder
19:12And it's Marty
19:13Who gets it done
19:14And look at this
19:17What in
19:18God's green earth
19:20Is going on
19:22Here's another part
19:23Of this match
19:23That's so important
19:24It's ingenuity
19:26And let's face it
19:27When it comes to
19:28Inflicting punishment
19:28Who's more ingenious
19:30Than the villain
19:30Yeah it's like a
19:31Saw type situation
19:32From Marty Skrull
19:34And what could he
19:35Possibly have in mind
19:37With that chair
19:37My mind can't even
19:39Wonder
19:39To the derangement
19:41That's running
19:42Through Skrull's head
19:43Oh
19:47Why not one more time
19:49This is it
19:50Like Joe DiMaggio
19:53Oh
19:54Mickey Mantle
19:58The Sultan of Swat
20:01Himself
20:03And Marty Skrull
20:04Now grabbing the ladder
20:07What a physical matchup
20:08This has been already
20:09Jay Lethal
20:10Still hung upside down
20:11Basically knocked out
20:12If you want to bet on it
20:13If Mike can
20:14Can neutralize
20:15Taven enough here
20:16He's got a huge opportunity
20:17Here to get the title
20:19Absolutely
20:19That's got to be
20:20Top of mind
20:21Yeah you got to set
20:21The ladder up first
20:22Though exactly
20:23What Marty's doing
20:25Stomping on the hand
20:26Of Taven
20:26And now
20:27It's Marty Skrull
20:28Trying to
20:29Climb rung by rung
20:31Into the history books
20:33To become a mortal
20:34Here in Ring of Honor
20:36What's he looking at there
20:38Smart
20:39Smart
20:40What did I tell you
20:41About ingenuity boys
20:43Almost genius
20:45Reaching up with the ladder
20:47Super kick from Taven
20:49Oh and that connected
20:50Ian
20:51His hands were down
20:52And his chin
20:53Was completely exposed
20:55That was a heavy connection
20:57Marty might be out
20:58Of this one
21:00Taven needs to capitalize
21:01On this
21:02And look at Taven
21:04Taven climbing
21:05Rung by rung
21:06Lethal back to his feet
21:08Lethal
21:08His blood swore
21:09An enemy
21:10Matt Taven
21:13Driving
21:13The head
21:14Into the ladder
21:16Was lethal
21:16And destroyed
21:17That charlatan
21:17Of a belt
21:18That Taven
21:18Was carrying around
21:19But it's Skrull
21:19With a big European uppercut
21:28I don't think
21:28There's any denying
21:29Who this Madison Square
21:30Garden crowd
21:31Wants to see
21:31Walk out
21:32With the Ring of Honor
21:33World Championship
21:35And for once
21:36I actually agree
21:36With him
21:38Knife bench
21:38Chop delivers
21:39Full head of steam
21:39Marty Skrull
21:40That's the clothesline
21:41Here
21:4252
21:42Takeout
21:43Takes out
21:43The knee
21:43Of Jay Lethal
21:45He's had problems
21:46With that knee
21:46Before Colt
21:47You've taken advantage
21:48Of it
21:48In matches
21:49With Jay Lethal
21:49Oh look at this
21:52Oh god
21:53I don't think
21:54The knee
21:55Is what you go for
21:55In matches
21:56Like this
21:56Oh wow
21:57Taven very smartly
21:58Getting Marty Skrull
21:59Out of the picture
22:00How ironic
22:02Oh my god
22:07That might be the end
22:08Of Jay Lethal
22:09Of that knee
22:11But it wasn't the tip
22:12It was the whole thing
22:13Ian
22:15Driving it through
22:16The ladder
22:16Nick I agree
22:18Rocking the bells
22:19Between
22:20Between
22:20That knee
22:22To the ladder
22:22And the punishment
22:23With the chair
22:24When he was hung
22:25Upside down
22:25Of that
22:26I'm convinced
22:27We're going to see
22:28A new world champion
22:28Here tonight
22:29It could be
22:30The two challengers
22:31Now wrestling
22:32For the ladder
22:33Clothesline caught
22:34Back elbows
22:35Marty Skrull
22:36Sending Taven
22:36Into the ropes
22:37Big open hand
22:38This is what I want
22:40Get down and dirty
22:41Get physical
22:41It looks like
22:42Marty's trying to
22:43Hit the ropes
22:43But
22:44Big clothesline
22:45That's Taven
22:46That's it
22:47Send him outside
22:47Now you've got time
22:48Oh but he's got a wide open
22:50He's got an opening
22:52But instead
22:52Taking the time
22:53To make sure
22:54Taven's completely down
22:55That was a little
22:55Receipt ski
22:57For that super kick
22:58Earlier on
23:02Looking up
23:03Skins the cat
23:03Come on buddy
23:04Don't talk about it
23:05Be about it
23:05Get up there
23:07Climbing the ladder
23:08Now it's lethal
23:09Back in
23:12What's Jay doing
23:13He's got some
23:13There it is
23:14Trapping the leg
23:17Are we going to see
23:18Possibly a figure four
23:19Situation
23:19Here
23:20It's great
23:21Dangerous
23:23Oh
23:24Oh god
23:26And Jay lethal
23:27Even knows
23:27To put his other hand
23:29To balance the ladder
23:30Out for close
23:30Look at the opportunity
23:32Look at the opportunity
23:34It's Taven
23:35Make your choice
23:36Jay
23:36Come on
23:37Yeah he better let go
23:38And he did
23:39So sly
23:40So cunning
23:41Matt Taven
23:42Had a great plan
23:44Right there
23:44Like a vulture
23:45Just swooping in
23:46That's the beauty
23:47Of a matchup
23:48Like this
23:48You know
23:48A lot of people
23:49Might see this
23:49And think it's just
23:50Car crash
23:50And just
23:51You know
23:52Danger
23:52But the reality
23:53Is it's very cerebral
23:56A lot of strategy
23:57Involved
23:58And sometimes
23:58The game plan
23:59Out of the gate
24:00Must be turned
24:01On its head
24:02We're seeing that
24:02Right now
24:03From Jay lethal
24:03Who went from
24:04Going from one opponent
24:05To the other
24:05Now focusing on the villain
24:06I'll tell you
24:07I'll tell you what
24:07I'll tell you what
24:08I think
24:08For Jay lethal
24:09To be successful
24:09In this matchup
24:10He's going to have
24:11To find a mean streak
24:12We know that
24:13Taven has one
24:14We know that
24:14Marty has one
24:16Old by the book
24:17Teacher's pet
24:17Jay lethal
24:18May have to
24:18Throw that rule book
24:19Out tonight
24:20And get a little bit
24:20Nasty
24:22Cutter
24:22Like that
24:23Cutter on the apron
24:24I swear he doesn't
24:25Have an earpiece
24:27And he's not
24:27Listening to me
24:28Marty scroll
24:29Going for moves
24:31That I don't think
24:31He should be going for
24:34Marty's knee might be
24:35Pretty badly injured
24:36There
24:36Not might be
24:37Definitely is
24:39Lethal with the ladder
24:41Taven
24:42Inside the ring
24:45Big knife
24:46That shot
24:46These two went
24:4760 minutes
24:47In Las Vegas
24:48There was not a winner
24:49In that huge match
24:49Lethal down to the apron
24:51Catches itself
24:53Security by Taven
24:54Taven full head of steam
24:55Goes through the legs
24:57Oh
25:00Oh
25:00God
25:12And lethal is the one
25:14That created that contraption
25:16It comes back to bite him
25:18Nick Aldis
25:19We take another look
25:20At the replay
25:20Look at this
25:21Everyone was expecting
25:22A baseball slide
25:23And instead he went
25:24Through the legs
25:25Boom
25:25Huge power bomb
25:26Right into the ladder
25:27The small of the back
25:28The kidneys
25:28All across that solid steel
25:31Yeah almost like
25:32Matt Taven knew
25:33He had that one
25:33In his back pocket
25:34If it came true
25:36Both men are down
25:38But look who's in the ring
25:39What does Marty Scurll
25:41Have in store
25:42Does he have enough
25:43In that knee
25:44To push up
25:45To push through
25:46To reach for the sky
25:47He has to
25:48Grab his destiny
25:50What he believes
25:51He was meant to have
25:53If there's any night
25:54In your life
25:55That you're going to
25:56Play through the pain
25:57It's a sold out
25:58Madison Square Garden
25:59Night pitch
26:00Chop delivers on Taven
26:01And again
26:03Just cinching the skin
26:05Of Matt Taven
26:06Taven's chest
26:07Is beat red
26:08But that is not
26:09Going to be enough
26:09Obviously
26:10Marty's smart enough
26:11Now
26:11Move the ladder
26:12Out of play
26:13Have the middle
26:14Of the ring
26:15Wide open
26:15For anything
26:16He wants to get done
26:17He's got to punish Taven
26:18I think we know
26:18That Jay is punished enough
26:20Front face lock here
26:22Maybe that knee
26:22Giving out
26:23Can't quite get the suplex
26:24Up and over
26:24For Scurll
26:25Taven follows through
26:26Nice trap
26:27To a hold
26:28This is a
26:29Very important exchange here
26:33Scurll
26:33Coming around
26:36The 6-1-9
26:38But he
26:39With a bad knee
26:40He's done a damage
26:41To himself
26:42With that maneuver
26:43But
26:44He needed to
26:45Incapacitate Taven
26:47You said
26:48Play through
26:49Play through the pain
26:50Absolutely
26:51Marty calling
26:52For the chicken wing
26:53We see that championship
26:5412 perhaps
26:5515 feet
26:56High above the ring
26:58Here at Madison Square Garden
26:59Here we go
27:00The crowd coming live
27:01But the only way
27:02You can win
27:02Is by grabbing the title
27:10Listen to this crowd
27:13Oh
27:16Taven
27:171818
27:18Taven spoils the party
27:27And I don't know
27:28If there's anybody
27:29In this building
27:30That wants to see
27:31Matt Taven
27:32Walk away
27:32The ring of honor
27:33World champion
27:36They're
27:38They're telling you
27:39What they think
27:40Little fallout word here
27:42Resonating with these
27:43Thousands and thousands
27:45Of New York's finest
27:46Nearly 20,000
27:48Have descended upon us
27:51Here tonight
27:52Unbelievable
27:52The greatest wrestling
27:54Happening
27:55Taven going for that ladder
27:57Stomps his fingers
27:59Inside the ladder
28:00Huge mistake
28:01Oh no
28:04Kick to the midsection
28:05Blocks the finger break
28:08Taven
28:08Oh
28:12Rolling neck breaker
28:13Rolling through the ladder
28:14Colt
28:14If he can hit the ladder
28:15He's going to be the new champion
28:16Well right now
28:17Matt Taven has taken away
28:18Everything that this crowd
28:20Wants to see
28:20Marty Skrull do
28:21And the next thing
28:22To take away
28:23Is Marty Skrull's opportunity
28:24To climb that ladder
28:25And grab that championship
28:26What is he doing
28:28He can't reach the
28:29He can't reach the title
28:30Belt from there
28:34Well you keep on talking
28:35About incapacitating
28:37Yes
28:38And that's the strategy
28:39We saw the Briscoes use
28:40That ladder war
28:41They incapacitated
28:42Their opponents
28:43And then climbed the ladder
28:44Won the title
28:45With ease
28:47This is what I was
28:48Talking about though
28:48As soon as you start
28:49Ascending the ladder
28:50You make yourself
28:51Incredibly vulnerable
28:52To a counter attack
28:54Oh god
28:55And they're both
28:56Vulnerable right now
28:59Oh
29:10Superplex delivered
29:12Long distance
29:13High atop the ladder
29:16Oh I don't want to see
29:17This way
29:18Well I'll call it out
29:19Suplex
29:20There it is
29:20Both men driven
29:22Down obviously
29:23Marty with the best of it
29:25Get up Marty
29:25Get up
29:29Lethal crawling
29:30I can't believe
29:31Lethal's even standing
29:32Oh
29:32An umbrella in play
29:36Cracked across the back
29:38Come on
29:38Don't get cute
29:39Finish him off
29:40Finish the job
29:40And this is why
29:41I thought the villain
29:42Had the advantage
29:43I can only imagine
29:44One man is in danger
29:45Lethal
29:46Hit
29:46Oh caught by
29:47Skrull
29:48Oh look out
29:49The fingers are locked
29:51Oh
29:53And Bob Backlund
29:54For many years
29:55Held on
29:56To a world championship
29:58With that very move
29:59Yeah but Bob Backlund
30:00Was never in a match
30:01Where ladders
30:02Stacked up
30:03In the corner
30:06And it's lethal
30:07I wouldn't mind
30:09Seeing that
30:09Goes back to the ladder
30:12And we're seeing
30:13A great one here
30:14It's a classic
30:15In the world's
30:17Most famous arena
30:18To be a champion
30:20The most important thing
30:21Is you have to find
30:22A way to win
30:24And again
30:25Credit where it's due
30:26I may not like it personally
30:27But Jay Lethal
30:28Finds a way to win
30:29And we might be seeing
30:30That right here
30:31Right now
30:32Centering the ladder
30:35You can see
30:36The blood pulsing
30:39As lethal
30:40Climbing
30:41Rung
30:42By rung
30:43Yeah we see
30:44Matt Tavon
30:45Right from behind
30:46Jay Lethal
30:47I don't see him
30:48Getting any progress
30:49On this
30:49Lethal the first man
30:50To touch the championship
30:51In this match
30:53That's not the name
30:54Of the game
30:54Ian
30:55You have to unhook
30:56And grab the championship
30:58As it's
30:59Tavon and Lethal
31:00Exchanging blows
31:04I'll tell you that
31:04Tavon with his height
31:05Advantage
31:06Has quite a distinct
31:07Advantage
31:07Because I think
31:08He might be able
31:09To reach the title belt
31:10From like the third
31:11Rung up
31:11Instead of having to
31:12Go from the way
31:13To the tippy top
31:13Like Marty
31:14And Jay Lethal
31:15Yeah well right now
31:15Look at his height
31:16Advantage
31:16He is
31:18Horizontal
31:19On the ground
31:19And if Lethal
31:21Can shift his body weight
31:22He's got to get higher
31:23Though
31:23Turn around
31:24He's got to take
31:25Another step
31:25Oh look out
31:26Oh my god
31:29Oh my god
31:32Sophie's choice
31:36Fight off the submission
31:37Or fall from the ladder
31:39Your choice Lethal
31:40High altitude
31:42Chicken wing
31:45Lethal fighting out of it
31:47It's hard to ground that chicken wing
31:49When you're standing on a ladder
31:50For Marty
31:51No doubt
31:51And what I tell you
31:52Lethal getting out of the way
31:54But that leaves the space
31:55For Tavon
31:56This girl's got to go
31:57All the way to the tippy top
31:58Of that ladder
31:59You're right Nick
32:00The height advantage
32:00Gonna come into play here
32:02Look at this
32:02Because Tavon can reach it
32:03If Tavon gets to that rung
32:05I think he can reach it
32:06From there
32:06Tavon's got about
32:07Three or four inches
32:08And longer arms and legs
32:10Than skirt
32:10Oh god
32:15Oh
32:18He still can grab with the right
32:28And it's lethal
32:31Desperation move
32:32But smart
32:32Went right for the knee
32:35Oh my god
32:36Matt Tavon
32:37Love it
32:37He can't even
32:38He can't even
32:39Hang on
32:39Yeah
32:42Between that wrist earlier
32:44And the fingers now
32:47What won't
32:48These men do
32:50To walk out of
32:51Madison Square Garden
32:52As the Ring of Honor
32:53World Champion
32:53Wow
32:54Matt Tavon
32:54With the opportunity
32:55To grab it
32:55It was right there
32:56In his grasp
33:03Lethal at Tavon
33:04We know the
33:04Cardiovascular
33:05Conditioning is there
33:08Every decision
33:09That is made
33:10From here on out
33:11Is absolutely
33:13Imperative
33:15One false move
33:16And you could be
33:17Out of this match
33:18For good
33:18Talk about condition
33:20The NJ Leaf
33:21Will drop 25 pounds
33:22For this match
33:23Thought it was better
33:25To be quicker than bigger
33:26Climb up that ladder
33:30Tavon off the ropes
33:31Caught
33:31Lethal
33:32Combination
33:33Into the ladder
33:35Tavon hit hard
33:36And I think that
33:37While that may be true
33:39I think the most important
33:40Factor in winning this
33:41Is going to be brains
33:42I think it's going to be
33:43An intelligent situation
33:46And that could favor
33:48Skrull
33:48But Skrull
33:49Sent into the ladder
33:52Lethal now
33:52Fighting a war
33:54On two fronts
33:54I don't know
33:55How smart that is
33:56But I don't know
33:57If he has a choice
33:59Well when you're
34:00The world champion
34:00You have a target
34:01On you
34:02And clearly we've seen
34:03From most of this matchup
34:04That they've been going
34:05For Lethal
34:06More than anybody else
34:07Lethal might impale him
34:09Here
34:09What is he having
34:10His head
34:11Oh gets out of the way
34:13Oh now look at how
34:15Those ladders
34:15Are arranged themselves
34:19The ladders forming
34:20An X in the corner
34:21Skrull dumping
34:22Lethal to the outside
34:24It's now
34:25Marty Skrull
34:26With the X
34:27Maybe grab that umbrella
34:29This could be a possibility
34:30Kick to the midsection
34:32Oh no
34:34Oh no
34:34Matt Tavon
34:35Matt Tavon
34:44And the last man standing
34:46Is Skrull
34:46But he's hobbled
34:47He's hobbled
34:48That's the close line
34:49Jay Lethal
34:49Lethal
34:50Injection
34:51Lethal injection
34:52This is the time
34:54He's got to get a ladder
34:55This is the time
34:57He's got to get those ladders
35:00Do what you got to do
35:03Jay
35:03Tavon completely knocked out
35:05Lethal injection
35:06On Skrull
35:08Tavon might have a broken wrist
35:10Broken fingers
35:11Broken ribs
35:12Jay Lethal
35:13Is the man of the best shape
35:14In this match right now
35:18That's what
35:18He decides
35:19I had a feeling
35:20That was going to happen
35:21Whoa
35:21Getting up close and personal
35:23With the front row
35:25Decides to get rid of
35:26The X ladder
35:30Jay Lethal
35:31Now looking
35:33Well that's only the third craziest thing
35:34That's happened tonight
35:35In pro wrestling
35:36Expect the unexpected
35:42Lethal
35:46Lethal
35:46Lethal
35:47Lethal
35:49Lethal
35:50Lethal bringing a ladder
35:51To the ring
35:51Oh great
35:52We've got
35:52We've got
35:53We've got
35:53We've got
35:54We've got
35:54We've got
35:5420,000 lawyers
35:55In here apparently
35:56That's Lethal
35:57Reaching under the ring
36:00Holding and clutching the back
36:03Oh
36:04Bringing the table out
36:06Is Lethal
36:08But it's Skrull
36:12Oh
36:13Brain Buster
36:14Brain Buster
36:16On the concrete floor
36:18And Lethal
36:19May once again
36:20Fall victim
36:21To his own chicanery
36:23He set up that ladder
36:24Contraption before
36:25Now introducing this table
36:27To the outside
36:28It looks like the villain
36:29Is going to take full advantage
36:30Of it
36:30Hoisted by his own petard
36:35Setting the table
36:38Bringing it up
36:40It's Marty Skrull
36:41Of course it's debatable
36:42How effective a Brain Buster
36:44Is on Jay Lethal
36:44Because he doesn't have any brains
36:45But that's another story
36:47For another day
36:47He's had enough to capture
36:49The title twice
36:50Hold it for over 700 days
36:51One of the most cerebral wrestlers
36:53In Ring of Honor
36:54I take
36:55I don't know what kind of statement
36:56That is Nick
36:57I take great offense
36:58To that statement
36:59Of course you do
37:00Because you're president
37:00Of the Jay Lethal fan club
37:02A president of
37:03Everybody walking out
37:04You're supposed to be a broadcast journalist
37:05Want everybody to walk out alive
37:07Skrull might end the career
37:08Of Lethal right here
37:09This is dangerous
37:12And I don't think
37:13That table is close enough
37:14To the
37:16Apron
37:16If he wanted to
37:17Piledriver him through
37:18Pump kicking out
37:20A jumping insecurity
37:21Matt Taven
37:22Oh
37:22Taven delivers
37:31Let's get another look
37:32At that one
37:33Matt Taven
37:34This could be your night
37:40There are four points
37:41On the crown
37:42We take another look
37:43Taven
37:44Spear
37:46Driving Skrull
37:47Through the table
37:50That may
37:51Taven may have taken himself
37:53Out with that
37:53I couldn't get a good enough
37:54View of it
37:54But it looked like
37:55His head may have
37:56Smashed into the table
37:57As he took down
37:57Marty with the spear
37:58That's the danger of a spear
38:00Wouldn't have been
38:00The first time
38:01He's done that tonight
38:02He's willing to do it
38:03We have seen it
38:05Willing to put it
38:06On the line
38:07Is Matt Taven
38:09Lethal introducing
38:10Another table
38:11Look at that
38:13Everything at this point
38:15Is a risk to reward ratio
38:17How much risk
38:18Are you willing to take
38:19And how much reward
38:20Can you get
38:21If it pays off
38:22In full
38:23Setting up the table
38:25It's lethal
38:27Big shot
38:28Delivers another
38:31Now a club to the back
38:35Lethal is back
38:36Lethal is back
38:36Introduced that first table
38:37Recognized
38:38He didn't go through it
38:39Didn't affect him
38:40Didn't hurt him
38:41Hoping for the same
38:42Same outcome
38:43The next time
38:45Bringing that
38:46That ladder looks a good
38:47Two three feet longer
38:48Than the other
38:49Yeah where did that ladder
38:50Come from
38:51And that might be
38:52The one that they need
38:53Because the higher up
38:54You go
38:54The harder it is to balance
38:59What does
39:00Jay Lethal
39:01Have in mind
39:03Setting up the ladder
39:06Oh my
39:07Wait a minute
39:08And he'd do anything
39:09To keep that title
39:11And he'd do anything
39:12To end Matt Taven
39:13He could accomplish both
39:15This isn't about the title
39:16This is about Taven
39:23Oh good lord
39:32Oh
39:35Got all of it
39:49We're gonna take a look
39:50At the replay here
39:52Jay Lethal
39:53Jumping into immortality
39:55Fifteen feet at least
39:56Coming down
39:57Point of the elbow
39:58Right in the chest
39:59And through the table
40:00And Jay Lethal knows
40:02Marty Stroll
40:03Put through the table
40:05This is it boys
40:05Matt Taven
40:07Put through the table
40:08This is the rest of your life
40:09Right here
40:12Somehow
40:12Enough time
40:13For Marty
40:14To get some kind of
40:16Witch
40:16He said
40:17Play through the pain
40:18Exactly what Marty Stroll's doing
40:20Can he seize the moment
40:22Can he seize the day
40:24And Marty's got the 12th man
40:26In the form of this
40:27Madison Square Garden crowd
40:31The knee hobble
40:32Does he have enough
40:33He's got to keep his eye
40:35He's got to keep his eye
40:36On Taven and Lethal
40:36In comes Lethal
40:40But it's girl
40:41You gotta climb quick Marty
40:42You gotta climb click
40:43If you want to do it
40:44There's no way
40:45Not with that knee
40:50Matt Taven out
40:52Two men of the ring
40:56Rung by rung
40:57They mirror one another
40:59It's lethal
41:00It's girl
41:03What the hell is that
41:05That's a purple ladder
41:06Always be prepared boys
41:08How is Matt Taven
41:10Even crawling
41:12How did he sneak a purple ladder
41:14Here into here
41:15With all the union guys
41:16Everywhere
41:17Is that up to code
41:18And that ladder
41:19Is the full height
41:21It's taller
41:23The full height
41:24Of the distance
41:25To the Ring of Honor
41:26World Championship
41:28Look at this
41:29While Jay and Marty
41:31Are fighting on the other ladder
41:32Taven's got a free ride
41:33All the way to the top
41:39Lethal
41:39Connects with a shot
41:40To the midsection
41:41Enough
41:42To drag himself down
41:46That's the
41:47Rit
41:47Taven must have had
41:48This plan for all along
41:51Connected with a big
41:52Upper cut
41:52For lethal
41:53You're absolutely right
41:54Nick
41:54Oh
41:55I'll tell you
41:56He wanted to wait
41:57Until he thought
41:58That the time was right
41:59Because he knows
42:00That with the ladder
42:00In there
42:01It's up for grabs
42:02For any of them
42:03To use
42:03And that's his ladder
42:04I don't know
42:05If it's extra sturdy
42:06I don't know
42:07What he's done to it
42:08It's extra tall
42:09So you won't have to be
42:10As high up on it
42:11So your balance point
42:12Will be better
42:15Marty Skrull
42:16Picking up his own ladder
42:20Setting it up
42:21Draping it on the ropes
42:22He decides not to hit Taven
42:27But it's lethal
42:28Bringing in his ladder
42:30I think he's using that
42:32As a platform
42:36But for what
42:39Using it for leverage
42:41To help himself up
42:44Matt Steven
42:45Delivers a chair
42:46To the back
42:46Of Jay Lethal
42:47Completely exposed
42:49And Marty Skrull
42:51Set down
42:51Yeesh
42:56Taking a glimpse
42:57Up into the sky
42:58Seeing the gold
43:00All the way up
43:02These long limbs
43:03The long limbs
43:04Of Taven
43:06None of these men
43:07Can have much left
43:08And that could spell
43:10The end
43:11Decided to climb
43:12Instead of getting rid
43:13Of Jay
43:13I don't know
43:14If it was the right move
43:15Because now we see
43:16Jamie McClive
43:17No way he's there
43:18We could have a new world champion
43:20Matt Steven
43:21Could complete the grand slam
43:23Here on Madison Square Garden
43:25But it's lethal
43:26Fighting
43:27With everything he's got
43:28Wait a minute
43:29Look
43:30Hands on the championship
43:31And it's Taven
43:33Look at this
43:34Oh
43:34Oh
43:35Oh my god
43:36No
43:37I mean yes
43:40Matt Steven has done it
43:45Unbelievable
43:52The winner
43:54Of the ladder match
43:56And new
43:58Ring of Honor
44:00World champion
44:02Matt Steven
44:0725 years ago
44:09In the world's most famous arena
44:12The ladder match
44:13Was put on the map
44:15But tonight
44:17Tonight
44:18In the mortal enemy
44:20In the heart
44:21Of enemy territory
44:22Matt Steven's name
44:25Etched in stone
44:28Becoming
44:29A grand slam champion
44:32He said he was capable
44:34All along
44:35That's been his mantra
44:36Since day one
44:38He is the real world champion
44:40And there he is
44:41On top of the ladder
44:42In the biggest match
44:44Of his career
44:45Holding that championship
44:46It is his
44:47And he is the true
44:49Real world champion
44:51You are witnessing
44:51The dawn of a new era
44:53In Ring of Honor
44:54With Matt Taven
44:55As your world champion
44:56For everyone
44:57That told Taven
44:58No
44:59He went to Japan
45:00Proved them wrong
45:00Went to Mexico
45:01Proved them wrong
45:02And tonight
45:03We know Mikey
45:04Maria
45:05Vinny
45:06And TK
45:08And he made
45:09Kerry Silken
45:10Deliver him
45:11That championship
45:12What an effort
45:13From Marty Skrull
45:14What an effort
45:16By Jay Leath
45:17For over 700 days
45:18And the man
45:20That we want to thank
45:21For without him
45:23We would have
45:23No ring of honor
45:24Kerry Silken
45:25Correct
45:25There would be
45:26No Madison Square
45:27Garden
45:27Without Kerry Silken
45:28Hands the championship
45:29Off
45:30Thy kingdom come
45:33And the crown
45:34Has been placed
45:35Atop the head
45:37Of the king
45:37When opportunity
45:39Knocks
45:39You have to answer
45:41And Taven answered
45:43In the biggest way
45:44It is a new era
45:49Gentlemen
45:49I don't know
45:49I don't know
45:49To protect them
