00:01So good morning Pilyana and Ninad, we're delighted at ED&I to welcome you to the NGN booth.
00:07Looking forward to our chat about what OneGrid is firstly and also the benefits and potential opportunities for NGN members.
00:14So maybe to you Ninad first, can you talk us through what OneGrid is and maybe the opportunities for NGN
00:21members to get involved?
00:22Yeah, thank you very much for having us. It's day four of, it looks like day 20, so it's been
00:30very active.
00:31And yeah, so the whole premise of the OneGrid is that the transmission distribution boundaries are dissolving.
00:38Kind of the electrons don't follow the law of physics, they don't follow those boundaries.
00:43And as such we need really the experts from both sides of the... and bring in people from the grid
00:50edge, right?
00:51And traditionally Segre was more on a transmission side. We have about only 5% of experts from distribution.
00:59Distribution is very active now. We need to bring these people as quickly as possible.
01:05With that said, this is not changing the Segre, it is expanding.
01:11And right now this is kind of an open door. This is an open house.
01:15We want to invite people from distribution, see what we have. There is a ton of expertise.
01:22At the same time we want to ask them, what do you need? So we're here to tell, to show,
01:28but also to listen.
01:30NGN, I think I mentioned to you guys, like I don't give praise that easy.
01:35But what you guys done in the last two years, I found tremendous.
01:40And the reason being is because you started new initiatives and you delivered, right?
01:45And this is a new initiative that needs to be delivered quickly.
01:51And I cannot see the better mechanism to help us with these quick projects than NGN community.
02:02Thanks, Nana. Maybe, Biljana, from your perspective, like from an NGN perspective, where do you think we can be of
02:12support?
02:13And how OneGrid and NGN can work together?
02:18Okay, thank you for your question. So, as I mentioned, we really need to create a lot of engagement.
02:23And in the previous few years, you showed a lot of engagement. So, we see that we need help.
02:30And we would like you to become part of OneGrid initiative.
02:33So, this is where we actually see that we can work together in order to promote this initiative and to
02:38get more people involved.
02:40Because we cannot do this alone.
02:44Yeah, no, I agree to that point. And we should definitely think on those lines.
02:51And to add on to that, like we have recently started this and we were just talking to our new
02:57incoming chair and we have this NPS initiative.
03:01We have a study committee lead who's working with the study committees directly to discuss how we can support and
03:08development of NGN involvement with the study committees.
03:12And yesterday, we also discussed with Yves on the Green Books, how we can have specific NGN personnel taking lead
03:23of specific chapters within these Green Books.
03:25So, that might be something which we feel could be of interest and also like there could be a specific
03:35NGN representative who could support OneGrid.
03:38Like I know there was a lot of NGN people helping at the booth this time.
03:45So, yeah, those would be my inputs, I guess.
03:50Absolutely. So, for one, I think she needs help.
03:58The secretary needs a secretary.
04:00She's been putting like a full time into this work.
04:07And also, we will play with different formats, right?
04:12So, the next thing that we have is a Heidelberg symposium.
04:14That's a big event.
04:15We will have similar pavilion like we have here.
04:21For that pavilion, we want to try different formats.
04:24You know, like distribution is a little bit different transmission, you know, and it's very like you need it now.
04:30You don't wait for like four years.
04:32So, they want like really material that can consume right now, that can help them to solve the problem right
04:37now.
04:38So, for us, the success will be if we come up with some new material that we represent in Heidelberg
04:44and we draw the people from distribution in Heidelberg because there is 800 DSOs in Germany alone.
04:53And I think this is where NGN can help tremendously.
05:00I just want to say like big thank you for all NGN members who helped me with this one great
05:06pavilion.
05:06As Nenna mentioned, actually, on the first day, already few NGN members arrived.
05:11Second day, I already have crew that I kind of rely on.
05:15So, this is really, really important because without it, we could not make one grid pavilion running.
05:21So, I just want to say a big thank you.
05:23I could not make this also without you.
05:25Thank you, Biliana.
05:27So, great session.
05:28Thank you very much.
05:29And maybe as a recap and to summarize for NGN members, stay tuned.
05:33There's going to be a lot of information coming out about how to get involved with One Grid.
05:37We've now a NGN One Grid lead that will be liaising with Nenna and Biliana on next steps at One
05:43Grid.
05:44So, if you are interested, please feel free to reach out to the international NGN committee
05:49and to get involved and to help the crew here to get further progress.
05:54So, thank you very much.
