00:08I'm pleased to welcome one of the most active committees, the Romanian National Committee.
00:14Hi!
00:14Hi Alice and hi everybody which are participating to the Paris session this year.
00:20Welcome. Let's talk about this full calendar of conferences that you are holding in Romania.
00:27Tell us more about it.
00:28Okay, I will try to be brief but in the last 12 years we did a nice job.
00:34It's not our opinion, it's a general opinion of SeaGrants.
00:39So every even year we have an international conference.
00:43The name is Condition Monitoring, Diagnostics and Maintenance.
00:48We had already six edition.
00:50We hosted with this occasion also free colloquium of the study committees
00:56and the topics are coming from most of the study committees of SIGRE.
01:01And every time we had people coming from around 40 countries for all the continents.
01:08It is a very nice event, it is held in Bucharest, very nice city, little Paris if you like.
01:15And in the odd years we are going to a special category which are young professional and academia.
01:26We are going in a technical university around the biggest cities in the country.
01:34We are trying to put academia and also young professionals and students to see what the industry is doing,
01:44to understand what can be their future in the power system.
01:48So what does SIGRE represent for you, for your national committee?
01:53So SIGRE for me and for my national committee it's a very very nice hub.
02:00It's like another family, you can meet people from all over the world to discuss on a top level
02:06but also going deep in the issue that we are fronting these days.
02:13You can grow yourself as a professional, you make friends.
02:18What is very very important, I mentioned the word friends or family.
02:23So you can address without having a contract a question.
02:27It's not necessary to sign a contract with someone.
02:30So ask one of your friends from SIGRE and you'll get a right answer.
02:35You've been elected and re-elected for 12 years now.
02:39So you were also a member of the steering committee and the technical committee.
02:44So what's your secret to stay involved after two years regarding your own professional commitment?
02:52Okay, so when I was elected first time in 2010, I was thinking that I can do more as a
03:00social activity.
03:01So SIGRE for me it's like a good combination between professional activity and the need to have something in your
03:10social life.
03:12And I can mention that my family, my wife and my son are also power engineers.
03:18So maybe it's an important part of my life.
03:23They can understand.
03:24And sometimes, sometimes.
03:26And why I'm still active or very active in SIGRE?
03:33Because I like to stay together with young people.
03:39If you're staying with young people, you'll remain younger.
03:43And I'm keeping the contact together with my team to all individuals and collective members, sharing the experience, sharing the
03:54knowledge in a top-down process.
03:57But also using a bottom-up idea in order to get what the people are thinking, what are their preoccupations.
04:06So young people are coming.
04:09They have to build the future.
04:12Thank you for your vision about this SIGRE family and have a great show.
04:16Yes, thank you very much and waiting for you in Romania.
