00:00Thank you for listening.
00:33C'est great for me is a fantastic association where you learn and you share knowledge and where you meet
00:40people and you can network. And this session for a vendor, which was my job before, was essential because basically
00:47with one metro ticket in one week I could meet all my customers or my main customers in a very
00:53pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. It had great value for me and my company.
01:06I think it's really great. It's been extremely well organized. The rendu is very good. Obviously we miss the networking,
01:13but otherwise we have all the other paradigms of an open session with interactivity, with panels which are lively, with
01:21group discussion meetings which go on very extremely well.
01:25But we miss the networking and that's something which obviously we cannot do without.
01:30But the issue is also that this session has a cost if we want to have something which is nice
01:37to see and nice to hear.
01:39And basically we had planned that we would have 2,000 people attending at a cost of 400 euro, which
01:46is what it costs because to have something good you need to spend.
01:50It is an issue because we don't have the exhibition. The exhibition has two values. First, for our partners being
01:56able to present what they do to the different members who are there.
02:01And secondly, it also helps SIGRE to balance its accounts by the revenues that are derived. So we have to
02:06also reinvent ourselves there.
02:08We have created sponsorships. We have created ads or in the different parts of the virtual session. But globally, we
02:17will have to reinvent ourselves in future because clearly following this pandemic, people will not travel the same way.
02:24People have been now accustomed to being remote when it comes to attending meetings. So we'll have to take that
02:30into account in the way our business model will evolve in SIGRE.
02:42In fact, there are two challenges. One is coming back to a CO2-free emission network, that is to say
02:49the integration of renewables, which cause an issue of network management and network stability.
02:56And the second is to connect the billion people that are not connected today to the grid for their well
03:01-being and I think for the well-being of all.
03:03So when it comes to SIGRE accompanying this move, clearly there needs to be a lot of, the evolution is
03:11extremely quick.
03:12There needs to be a lot of knowledge sharing. Digitalization on one side, HVDC on the other, are facilitating this
03:19transition.
03:20But the knowledge has to be shared and the knowledge has to evolve. And that's really where SIGRE has a
03:24great role to play.
03:25And the other, when it comes to electricity and countries which are not, SIGRE is being present now in Africa
03:31in a greater form.
03:33And that will also, I think, help disseminate knowledge about electricity.
03:44The pandemic is not over. The pandemic will change our habits, especially the habits of travelling.
03:49We will have to become more virtual. We will have to create events which will be interactive.
03:55We will miss the networking. So there also we will have to find new ways of enabling people to network.
04:00Because what's very important in SIGRE is to know who to call when you have an issue.
04:04And it's always easier if you know the person.
04:06The space is not over.
04:07The people who are connected has been engaging.
04:08The people who are connected to the family, they can at the same time and not even play their lives.
04:08Like a social玉 family.
04:08You
