The Beaches are back in our In-N-Out Burger Sound Space in Los Angeles for a special conversation and performance in front of an intimate group of fans. The Canadian Rock Queens continue to build momentum thanks to a few well-placed needle drops on our favorite shows, and the excellent third album, 'No Hard Feelings,' now available everywhere.

00:00Hello!
00:02Hi!
00:02Yeah!
00:03Hi!
00:03How are you?
00:04Thanks for being here.
00:07Give it up for Ally's baby growing inside of her right now.
00:10Look at that thing, huh?
00:12It's not mine.
00:15We're gonna bring out this band in a moment, the Beaches.
00:17They're a pretty amazing band that we've had a chance to watch get bigger and bigger,
00:20just like Ally right here.
00:22And that'll be a good time and a good show for you all.
00:25Yeah, if you tuned in to Klein Ally's show earlier this morning,
00:28you heard us announce the lineup for this year's Almost Acoustic Christmas
00:31with Foo Fighters and Sublime and Weezer and many, many more.
00:35But if you've been to any past Acoustic Christmases,
00:37you remember seeing the Beaches.
00:39I believe they played in 2023.
00:41So, of course, let's keep it going and get them on stage now.
00:44Welcome the Beaches!
00:49Hello, hello! Welcome!
00:55What's up, guys? How's it going?
00:57Yay!
00:58What must it feel like when people actually like you, huh?
01:01What's that feeling like?
01:02Amazing.
01:03I'm sure you guys are in very love, too.
01:05That cheer was for you, too.
01:07Yeah.
01:07That's so sweet.
01:08It's an all-encompassing cheer.
01:10We chatted with you ladies a few years ago before Acoustic Christmas,
01:13and you had this list of things you wanted to accomplish.
01:16Do you remember the list?
01:16Look at what's happened over the past few years.
01:18You talked about, oh, we'll do Coachella, maybe.
01:20That would be fun.
01:21And then let's be mentioned in a big viral TV show moment.
01:24That would be fun.
01:25And then let's all hang out at the In-N-Out Burger Sound Space with K-Rock.
01:28And look at this.
01:29You've accomplished your entire bucket list.
01:31It's been a pretty amazing run for you ladies.
01:34Do you have a moment where you can actually stop and appreciate what's been going on recently?
01:37Absolutely.
01:38There have been so many milestones that, like you said, that we've been able to check off that list.
01:43And this whole year has been so cool.
01:44And to see all these new fans that maybe discovered us from the show has been so awesome.
01:50So, yeah, it's just every day is so much fun for us.
01:54Are there any other bucket list items that are even related to performing or not that you'd like to share
01:58now
01:58just so we can manifest them into the world?
02:01I'd like to fall in love.
02:03Okay.
02:03Yeah.
02:04It could be on stage or off.
02:05It doesn't matter to me.
02:07Get Leandra a girlfriend.
02:08Yeah.
02:09That's number one.
02:11Yeah.
02:12Your love life first.
02:13Yes.
02:13And then I think it would be really cool to play Glastonbury.
02:19That would be sick.
02:21Oasis is going on tour.
02:23Oh, damn.
02:23And I know they're looking for openers.
02:25So, if they want a sister act.
02:27Show it us out.
02:28Yeah.
02:29I want to headline the Greek.
02:30Oh, great.
02:31That's a good one.
02:32Let's make all this happen.
02:33The next time we chat, all of those things will happen.
02:35I have a feeling.
02:36Manifest.
02:36You know, people discover you in so many different ways.
02:38I was walking through a festival in Redondo Beach many years ago.
02:42And there was a very small, I don't mean this to be offensive, but a very small crowd.
02:46But everyone looked like they were having the most fun.
02:49And I saw the crowd first.
02:50And then I saw you ladies rocking out on stage.
02:52And you were all wearing the itty-bitty titty committee merch.
02:54And I said, I don't know what this band's all about, but I'm going to stay and get to know
02:57them.
02:57And since then, obviously, crowds have gotten bigger and bigger.
03:00And then you get mentioned in Off Campus, which was one of the biggest shows of the year.
03:05And I know this because my wife has forced me to watch every minute of it, regardless of the fact
03:08she's never watched an ice hockey game ever in her life.
03:10And your show gets mentioned, and more importantly, they mention that your Coachella set was life-changing.
03:15And that instantly brought your band to the next level.
03:17How did you find out?
03:19Which one of you saw that first?
03:21I think we all watched it together.
03:23Yeah.
03:23And we didn't understand that we were being written into the show.
03:26We approved the sync, but we didn't know that we'd be a part of the script.
03:29So seeing Hannah actually pull it up on the screen and showing Garrett our band was one of the craziest
03:36things ever.
03:37And, yeah, just being written into it was such an amazing thing.
03:41And we're just so grateful for the opportunity and all the new fans that have discovered us because of that
03:46moment.
03:47And it's at, like, the most yearny moment in the show.
03:49It's, like, pretty pivotal.
03:51It's, like, just as they're falling for each other.
03:53And then, like, the beaches.
03:54Everyone, that moment hits so hard with everyone because everyone can relate to that kind of yearning.
03:59And everyone's done that kind of thing.
04:00You know, like, send someone some music that means so much to you.
04:03And then they listen to it and listen to every word.
04:05You know what I mean?
04:06So, yeah, it was so cool to be part of that.
04:09Edge of the Earth is about an ex of yours, right, Leandra?
04:12Of course.
04:12And is it weird, though, to have the song be kind of an anthem for a straight couple?
04:17Or is it like, hey, you know, an ex is an ex?
04:19Yes.
04:19My ex is my best friend now.
04:21She's very upset by that.
04:22I said, babe, let's share this moment with others.
04:26Okay?
04:27The straights can have something, too.
04:28We're allies.
04:29Yeah.
04:30You know, it's interesting.
04:31You subscribe to the lesbian stereotype that we're all friends with our exes after.
04:35Yes.
04:35And I am friends with none of my exes.
04:37That you probably are living a healthier life than me.
04:41I doubt that.
04:41You have boundaries.
04:43If your songs could be in any other show that you all love, what would it be?
04:48Oh, my gosh.
04:48Well, Girls is doing a revamp.
04:50I was going to say Girls.
04:51That would be amazing.
04:52Yes.
04:52We used to watch that show together back in the day.
04:54That would be so cool.
04:56Or, like, Broad City moment could be amazing.
04:58We love Broad City.
04:59We love Broad City just for us.
05:01Yeah, just for us.
05:01Or Hacks.
05:01I really wanted us in Hacks, but now R.I.P.
05:04Yeah.
05:05Heated Rivalry.
05:06Oh!
05:07Heated Rivalry.
05:08Gay hockey.
05:08Canadian program.
05:09Yeah.
05:09Yeah.
05:10The interesting thing is that the first song we were chatting about with you, which was
05:13a few years back, involved another one of your exes.
05:16And so it feels like you are doing great off of your exes.
05:19Have they started hitting you up for royalties now and said you are getting so much great material
05:24from our relationships?
05:25I haven't heard from him regarding that.
05:30I'm still waiting for a Blame Jordan song.
05:33Haven't gotten that yet either.
05:35I heard from an ex last week.
05:38Yeah.
05:38She said stop talking about me.
05:39So naturally bring her up on the radio.
05:42You heard nothing.
05:43And naturally here we are talking about it.
05:45No.
05:46Done.
05:47Do you have any assumptions that you feel have been made about you as an, quote, all-female
05:52band in a very male-forward genre, you know, as far as people who assume certain things
05:58about you and how you guys operate together?
06:00I think it used to be a little more intense because there weren't, or there wasn't as
06:05much female representation in the world we were in.
06:08But we've been so lucky to see so many women, you know, in this space.
06:12So it's less so a thing now.
06:14But yeah, back in the day for sure, you know, we'd walk into a venue and they'd assume we
06:18were fans or that we couldn't, like we weren't the band or whatever.
06:21And we're like literally setting our gear up.
06:23And so that kind of stuff used to happen, but not so much anymore.
06:26I think if there's any assumptions, it's just like, whoa, those girls are party girls.
06:30And we absolutely are.
06:32So that assumption is totally correct.
06:34All the stereotypes are true.
06:35Yeah.
06:36When you finally get some time off the road because you're just coming off this tour now,
06:40how do you actually decompress?
06:42Do you get any moments for yourself or are you already thinking about the next thing?
06:45Because even an album that was already released, you're like, you know what?
06:48Let's add more songs and make it a deluxe album.
06:50Where normally you go like, let's chill out for a little bit.
06:52Is it hard to just kind of unwind?
06:54Well, we're in the middle of a little bit of that time right now.
06:58We wanted to come out and do this for you guys because we love you guys so much.
07:01Let them hear it, huh?
07:02That's you guys.
07:04That's us.
07:04That's us.
07:05Thank you guys.
07:05They're not doing it for us.
07:06They're doing it for you.
07:07This is our vacation.
07:08Yeah.
07:09We're technically, we're on a little bit of a break right now, but we will be writing
07:12some new music early next year.
07:15Yeah.
07:16We've already got some songs that we're super stoked about, so it'll just be more of that
07:21kind of vibe.
07:21But you need to live a little bit of life in between to have something to write about.
07:25So that's kind of where we're at now.
07:26Yeah.
07:26To accumulate more exes.
07:28Exactly.
07:28Exactly.
07:29Or maybe we write a love album and who knows.
07:32Would it just be about love?
07:34Yeah.
07:34She's in love, so she wants to do that.
07:37I'd be scared if I was dating any of you right now.
07:39It's just terrifying.
07:40One wrong move.
07:41I'm in a song.
07:42Going back for a moment to the Itty Bitty Titty Committee.
07:45Does the Itty Bitty Titty Committee ever accept men?
07:48Because Klein has very tiny nipples.
07:51Thanks, Ali.
07:52Thanks for bringing that up.
07:52If you want to show the audience, you're welcome to.
07:54They're very little.
07:54They're very tiny nipples.
07:55I just wondered if he could qualify.
07:57It's open to everyone.
07:58Everyone.
07:58Yeah.
07:59Nice.
07:59It's not exclusive.
08:00Even if you started and all of a sudden you've decided over life, maybe you went through a
08:06cosmetic surgery.
08:07It's a state of mind, the Itty Bitty Titty Committee.
08:08It is.
08:09It's a state of mind.
08:09It's all mental.
08:10They let me in and I have a huge rack.
08:12So it's crazy.
08:13Hugest rack in all of Ontario.
08:13There's hope for everyone.
08:14All of Ontario.
08:15That's your, I have a dream speech right there.
08:17It's beautiful.
08:18You know, we would love to hog all of the time, but I know you're going to play in a
08:21moment and we did want to allow some of your fans to ask questions as well.
08:24So these are real questions from real fans of the beaches.
08:27Maybe one of your questions is about to be asked right now.
08:29So here we go.
08:31All right.
08:31Question one.
08:32This is from Chris in Alhambra.
08:35Is there a group chat?
08:36And if so, who is the biggest violator on said group chat?
08:40Oh, we have like a million group chats.
08:42We have like four or five.
08:43What does violator mean in terms of a group chat?
08:46I'm confused.
08:46I think it means like somebody who's breaking the rules of a group chat or being annoying
08:51in the group chat.
08:52Maybe sending too many memes in the group chat.
08:54Leandra sends a lot of like tea.
08:57I always have tea.
08:58No, Leandra sends stickers.
08:59There's like a sticker.
09:00You hate that.
09:01There's a sticker for everything you've ever done.
09:03Everything.
09:05They're all just stickers of Jordan.
09:06Yeah.
09:07Yeah.
09:07Picking my nose or doing worse things.
09:11Yeah.
09:11It's a lot.
09:12Wait.
09:12So there are several different group chats.
09:14Are they all labeled differently?
09:15Yeah.
09:15They have different names.
09:16The most popular one is with us and also our photographer and good friend Meg.
09:21It's called Hinky Tinks.
09:23Hinky Tinks.
09:24I don't know how I thought that name.
09:24It's the stupidest name and I won't get into why it's called that because it's the stupidest
09:27story too.
09:28But Hinky Tinks, that's our group chat and it's amazing.
09:30Good to know.
09:31But there's no group chat where three of you are in.
09:33It's not called like the No Jordan group chat or something.
09:35No.
09:35Is there?
09:36Well, there is.
09:36It's not named that.
09:37Oh, no.
09:39What have I done?
09:39It's called the real Hinky Tinks.
09:40When we're trying to plan things for one other person.
09:43A surprise.
09:43Yeah, like a birthday gift or something.
09:45We have to cut one out.
09:45Yeah.
09:46Such drama.
09:47All right.
09:48What is one thing from Canada that you'd like to import to the United States?
09:53Oh my gosh.
09:53Health care.
09:54Yeah.
09:56Good answer.
09:57Agreed.
09:58And finally, if you could-
10:00We accept.
10:00Yes.
10:01We would love that.
10:02Especially with this baby coming.
10:04If you could NFL trade a person from Team Straight to Team Gay, who would that be?
10:10That's a great question.
10:11Kylie.
10:13Number one draft pick.
10:15Give the fans what they want.
10:16Yeah.
10:17Waiting for you, baby.
10:19If you really cared about this crowd of people.
10:21Listen, I've tried.
10:22It just, you know.
10:24Isn't it so sad?
10:25There are some people that just should be gay and they're just not.
10:28And we have to accept that, don't we, Leandra?
10:30I'm trying.
10:31Leandra, is there anybody from our community that you'd like to oust to the straights?
10:37She's got a few.
10:38She's got a few.
10:38I had no comment, but there are a few.
10:40We can speak later.
10:41There's another group chat about that, I imagine.
10:42Yes.
10:42Don't give us Allie.
10:43We don't want her.
10:45In all seriousness, it's been so fun to watch you guys as a band develop over the years.
10:49You really do put on amazing energy on stage.
10:52We're all about to witness that in a very small space, which is super exciting for us.
10:55It feels like an intimate first date for many of you.
10:58If you've seen this band before, then you'll know what you have in store for you.
11:01In a moment, you'll be back on this stage and we can't wait to see what we have from the
11:04beaches.
11:05Let them hear it.
11:05Thank you guys.
11:08Hello, hello.
11:09Welcome K-Rock Sound Space.
11:12Thank you for being here.
11:13We are Klein Alley Show from K-Rock, but you already know that because we met a few minutes ago.
11:17This is awkward.
11:18This is uncomfortable now.
11:19Are you guys ready for the most amazing afternoon in your fucking lives?
11:24All right, guys.
11:25Then give it up.
11:26Their new album, No Hard Feelings, the deluxe version is out now.
11:29Welcome back, the beaches.
11:31Yes.
11:38All right, guys.
11:38I wonder if we can see over there.
14:55What's up with the beaches?
15:02This song's about being too sad to masturbate.
18:19We love this so much, we're having the best time and for anyone who was here last time, thanks for
18:24coming back.
18:29This song goes out to anybody who loves hard.
18:50Yeah, you're the secret.
18:52Was I just a change of view?
18:55Cause he could never please you.
18:59So maybe break with you forever.
19:02Oh, did I drop the gun?
19:09I really died this time, I found someone.
19:14Why did I speak too soon?
19:20Cause I'm so used to be her, is it real for you?
19:33More!
19:34Did I say too much?
19:39Gave you my song to choose?
19:41I give it to you, I couldn't please.
19:45Yeah, you did.
19:47Did you even need it?
19:50Every time I always call you, I just take a drink.
19:56It was a whole relationship.
19:58Just your boyfriend's cake.
20:02And then I drop the gun.
20:07every time
20:09I went!
20:14If you just check with me, I see.
20:18Let's say.
20:19I'm so into the department.
20:22If you said to me, I'm so in Kan knife.
20:23I pé dupe dupe dupe dupe dupe dupe dupe dupe dupe dupeau dupe
20:24Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
20:28Ooh, ooh, ooh
20:29Ooh, ooh, ooh
20:31Ooh, ooh, ooh
20:32Ooh, ooh, ooh
20:33And did I say too much?
20:36Even in the break-off
20:38You can make your mind up to be some pleasure
20:40Give me back this farthest stuff
20:42With your computer
20:44What the fuck is wrong with you?
20:48It's good for you to cover
20:49Singing to your lover
20:50Dancing to the whole world
20:52I break into pitch, girl, even though it's true
20:56And I'm a lot of love
20:59And I jump above you
21:04I really thought this time I found someone
21:10Why did I speak too soon?
21:16I let my garden get a choice in you
21:21Ooh, ooh, ooh
21:24Ooh, ooh, ooh
21:27Ooh, ooh, ooh
21:28Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
21:30Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
21:32Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
21:34Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
21:49Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
21:51Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
21:51This next one we wrote in January when I was going through a really bad breakup.
21:56I was dating a girl from LA that I knew for six years and we were so in love, but
22:04then
22:04she told me she had to work on herself and she left me for someone else.
22:09Hope it's going great.
22:12But I kind of hated coming back here because I just felt so hurt and I feel like I didn't
22:16know my community anymore, but I leaned on my friends and my friends still here in LA,
22:21Jill and her mom, Barbie, really helped me through a hard time and like, it's just so
22:27nice to have a family here in LA and be excited about coming back and I deserve better, you
22:33know?
22:35But also maybe I should have known better.
22:42Moments are like a good cheese.
22:45See the song I love and the blue voice for you slip into my cheeks.
22:53Bigger words, tears, but it hurts to me.
22:56And it's amazing.
23:01Yeah.
23:04You give me promises and I believe to you.
23:11I was trying to love you, babe
23:14But honey, I shouldn't forget
23:17Certainly need a time and space
23:20And I won't be wrong forever
23:23Teach me one, teach me one
23:26I can move on, I can move on
23:29I was trying to love you, babe
23:32Please join me, I can do better
23:37Four kids are talking about this way
23:41It's a picture of a heaven
23:45That we'll never get to see
23:47Closely, but you're too afraid to keep me
23:53She's a textbook, feel her burning
23:57Never knowing what she needs
24:00You gave me promises and I love you
24:05I was trying to love you, babe
24:10Honey, I should've known better
24:12Said you need a time and space
24:16And I won't be wrong forever
24:18Do what you want, do what you want
24:21I can move on, I can move on
24:25I was trying to love you, babe
24:27Please join me, I can do better

25:02Wasted time when you're in love
25:06I was down to love you, babe
25:09But honey, I shouldn't know better
25:12Said you needed time and space
25:16And I'll be around forever

26:15moment. She needed a wave for her soul. How's it going everyone? Let me try that again. Hi!
26:31Thank you so much for coming out to see us play today. We're so happy to be here. We
26:37came from a very very cold Toronto and it's so nice to be in this beautiful sunshine. We
26:44love coming to Los Angeles. And we love coming to K-Rock. So thank you so much K-Rock for
26:53all
26:53the support shown us over the years. And thank you so much for listening to us. We really,
26:59really appreciate it. This song is called Edge of the Earth. Has anyone been watching off campus?
27:12Has anyone been eating In-N-Out? Yes. I would like to import that from the U.S. to Canada.
27:20Yeah. You guys get healthcare, we get In-N-Out. Seems like a good train. Anyway, sing along if you
27:27know our song
27:28out to the earth. Or if you're yearning for animal style. Whatever that means to you.
27:36She's a fire sign. And you don't even know what that means. I'm a cold man. And I want it
27:44because of the heat. I don't want to get bored. I don't want love like that. But I can go
27:51any better to the start coming back. I'm a rock star. Things are never around me need. Pick a race
28:00car. Driving away from the sea.
28:03Does she want me? Does she want me? Does she want me to stay? Does she want me to pack?
28:08If you can push me any better, then I start coming back.
28:13Turn me all around. Turn me all around.
28:16Turn me all around. Slide up. Side down. It's hitting me like you throw the drop. You figure on me.
28:22I feel so far. You're all I want. It's hitting me like you throw the drop. You figure on me.
28:31Push me in circles
28:33Take me down to the earth
28:35But I can't go any more
28:37To start coming back to you
28:40I'm an addict
28:42I'm addicted to her and to me
28:45She's a magnet
28:47Pour me under the sheets
28:49You can hold me to a place
28:52For the good days to go
28:54Don't matter what happens
28:55You'll never be mad
28:56You'll come right back
28:58Turn me around
29:01My love
29:02Side down
29:03Slip me like a globe
29:05Drop your fear on me
29:07I feel so good
29:10You're all I want
29:12Slip me like a globe
29:14Drop your fear on me
29:16Push me in circles
29:18To heaven and earth
29:20But I can't go any better
29:22To start coming back to you
29:43Turn me around
29:46Fire up
29:47Side down
29:48Slip me like a globe
29:50Drop your fear on me
29:52I feel so far
29:55You're all I want
29:57Slip me like a globe
29:59Drop your fear on me
30:01Push me in circles
30:03Turn me down to the earth
30:05But I can't go any better

33:37I think it's time to blame your ex, Jordan
33:45I think it's time to blame your ex, Jordan
34:10I think it's time to blame your ex, Jordan
34:40I'm only going to treat you bad
34:43I'm only going to let you down
34:46I'm only going to sleep well
34:49I'm so sorry you did
34:53I'm only taking all your pets
34:55I want to let me do your best
34:59I want to let me do your best
35:02So don't blame me, blame me
35:05Remains, remains, remains
35:08Don't blame me, blame me
35:10Remains, remains, remains

35:17Don't you dare get comfortable

35:23Feelings too insomersault
35:27I'm not ready for therapy
35:30To take accountability
35:32Right now it's about
35:35Be me and only by the edge
