00:00I'm Paul Rasmussen. He played a sold-out show on his 80th birthday and recently christened a
00:05new Pittsburgh venue. And as NewsRadio KDKA's Paul Alexander reports, sadly, it was Donnie
00:11Iris' last show. It was just a month ago that legendary rock and roll star Donnie Iris opened

00:40performing at a very elite level. One of the founders of Jaggers is Jimmy Ross. We knew Donnie's
00:45been a tick for a while, but you're just never, you're never ready for this. You can tell I'm a

01:182018 attack is deeply personal. My wife, Andrea Wedner, my mother-in-law, Rose Malinger,
01:24were in the building that morning. My wife, Andrea, was severely injured, spent 10 days in
01:28the hospital after the shooting, and has had five surgeries, and is still in recovery. My mother-in-law,
01:35Rose, did not survive the shooting, and she was one of the 11 that were in there, murdered because
01:42they were Jews on a peaceful Shabbat morning. Wedner says students will help honor the victims
01:47through artwork and advocacy projects focused on fighting anti-Semitism. The public is invited to
01:53the commemoration from 6 30 to 7 30 tonight at the Jewish Community Center in Squirrel Hill.

02:05to address Pittsburgh's budget deficit. Barb Warwick calls it a fair share tax. It's a two percent levy on
02:12the unearned income of the city's wealthiest residents. Income like capital gains from property
02:17sales, stock dividends, rental income, distributions from estates and trusts. Warwick says the revenue
02:24can help the city fill a projected $250 million budget deficit over the next five years.
02:29In Pittsburgh, the wealthy already pay the most in property and earned income taxes.
02:35There's no comment from the mayor's office on that proposal.
