00:00We go live once more to the United Nations headquarters at this hour during the 34th annual vote on the
00:09resolution presented by Cuba at the United Nations General Assembly calling for an end to the US economic, commercial and
00:18financial blockade.
00:19More than 60 years of restrictions have been imposed on the island by the United States precisely the United Nations
00:29delegate representative of the United Nations is at this hour offering his assessment regarding the policy that has been on
00:38the Cuban island for over 60 decades.
00:41The broadcast states that also at this hour it is once more, as traditionally has been happening for over 30
00:52years, the United Nations are assessing, discussing the consequences of the impact of this economic policy that has been imposed
01:03on the island that has also extraterritorial capacities to sanction.
01:09Ever since, Havana would have you believe, everything in Cuba has just disappeared.
01:16We can see at this hour the Foreign Affairs Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parilla, challenging the statements of the
01:30US delegate that is having the floor at this hour.
01:35And it's trying as well to blame Cuba for the imposition of these unilateral coercive measures on the island that
01:44is having consequences, humanitarian consequences for the Cuban people.
01:50Foreign Affairs Minister wants to take the floor.
01:55Foreign Minister.
01:55Prime Minister.
01:55In the beginning of the session, I requested that . . . .
02:00Yes, I hear . . . .
02:00The President of the President's voice of honor. . . .
02:03Yes, I hear . . . .
02:04Yes, . . .
02:04The President of the United Nations. . . .
02:06This . . . .
02:06The President of the Bureau of the Procedural Rules of these . . . .
02:10The President of this General Assange.
02:11I request . . .
02:13Your ex would say, I know you don't like to hear this.
02:15This is America, my friend.
02:17This is the United Nations.
02:19This isn't your communist dictatorship.
02:21You cannot silence me or you cannot silence my colleagues.
02:26At the beginning of this session, I very respectfully requested that the current speaker,
02:34this hour, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Carrilla has reaffirmed
02:41that the blockade is a violation of international law,
02:46is a violation as well of the United Nations Charter as well
02:51that hampers the daily lives of Cubans with the imposition of this extraterritorial policy
03:01that has over 60 years but that has been strengthened in 2026
03:06without also the strengthening of an oil blockade on the island.
03:11Foreign Affairs Minister Bruno Rodríguez Carrilla is challenging at this hour
03:16the authorities of the United Nations but also the delegation of the United States.
03:20Let's listen.
03:23I request that you fulfill this rule and run immediately.
03:29just now a point important, which is a rule and a practice of this generalization.
03:36If you couldn't violate that.
03:38Mr. President, Rule 71 is crystal clear.
03:40I'll read it for our colleagues here.
03:43It says, quote,
03:43A representative rising to a point of order may not, may not, may not be one of the top of
03:46the United States.
03:48The discussion that is taking place in the 30-fold discussion on the resolution
03:55that is the matter that the United Nations are said to discuss at this hour
04:01and that is not being respected by the delegate of the United States at this hour in the podium.
04:07It is blaming basically the Cuban population for the economic crisis that has been imposed on the nation
04:15precisely by the U.S. policy, the successive U.S. authorities.
04:22There is a confrontation of words at this precise hour between the Foreign Affairs Minister of Cuba
04:30Cuba that is defending the stance of Cuba precisely in this unilateral, in this multilateral organization
04:37and is responding as well to the threats, to the lies that have been spread at this hour
04:44by the delegate of the United States.
04:47The session has been temporarily or is attempted to be temporarily suspended,
04:53but it is a confrontation that is happening precisely at this hour as the United Nations is expected
05:01or have been expected to discuss the consequences, the actual consequences of the U.S. economic blockade.
05:09Meanwhile, the U.S. representative of the United Nations at this hour is turning this discussion
05:17in benefit of the or trying to justify the imposition of this economic policy of hatred as well,
05:28of collective punishment that also has been called by Foreign Affairs Minister as a genocide.
05:33So at this hour, Foreign Affairs Minister of Cuba did not accept the suggestion of suspending
05:47this session.
05:52So discussions may continue after Foreign Affairs Minister...
06:02On a point of order, in accordance with...
06:05The Minister of Foreign Affairs is expected to take the floor at this hour.
06:09You have the floor.
06:12Muchas gracias.
06:13Thank you very much.
06:15Mr. President.
06:19On the basis of Article 71 of the Rules of Procedure of the General Assembly, I request you to call
06:28to order the Permanent Representative of the United States, who is not only lying grossly,
06:37but is beneath the dignity of this forum and member states.
06:44He is offending the dignity of the people and government of Cuba.
06:50Mr. Walsh is lying yet again, and I wish him a better future in other functions.
07:03But in the United Nations and in the Security Council, your performance is severely wanting.
07:09Please inform yourself much better of the rules of procedure.
07:17Issues of procedure, please, not substance.
07:22Okay.
07:23I thank the representative of Cuba for his statement on point of order.
07:28And your remarks, sir, will be reflected in the records of this meeting.
07:32I now request the representative of the United States to resume his statement.
07:39You have the floor, sir.
07:40Thank you, Mr. President.
07:41Let me explain what has happened at this hour.
07:44The representative of the United States to the United Nations has taken the floor to disrespect the people
07:52and government of Cuba.
07:54In the face of that, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, requested
08:01to speak before as well the intentions of the authority of the United Nations that
08:09is leading this meeting, to request for a suspension of this debate.
08:16So it was also disrespectful stance, and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, the Minister of Foreign Affairs
08:24of Cuba, made sure to leave that very clear.
08:28Cuba is to be respected.
08:30This discussion must keep taking place, must continue.
08:35But it was important as well for Cuba to say that the US representative is spreading lies
08:43about Cuba, and is taking the floor to disrespect the island, the one that has been a victim
08:52for over 60 years, of an economic policy that is causing collective damage, that is causing
09:00collective punishment, that has been called on several occasions, not just by Cuban authorities,
09:07but also by analysts, international analysts, as a genocide, a silent genocide that has been committed
09:17on the Cuban people.
09:20In 2026, US President Donald Trump and his administration, the one that represents the one that is speaking,
09:28the diplomat that is speaking at this hour, has tried to suffocate the island through economic means,
09:36through all means possible, in a way to create, to cause social unrest in Cuba, with the final aim of
09:48creating a regime change on the island.
09:51So, the intentions are not disguised anymore.
09:55Those are the open intentions behind the policy of hatred that has been imposed on Cuba, unfairly, for many decades
10:07already.
10:08The international community, every October, meets traditionally to condemn publicly and to condemn openly,
10:18in its vast majority of member states, to condemn this policy that has been in place for too many years,
10:27that has had, and most precisely in 2026, the most grave consequences on Cuba.
10:35The healthcare sector, which is essential for a country to hold a healthy and also a safe life,
10:46has been hampered by the continuous shortages of fuel, the continuous energy blackouts that have been taking place on the
10:55island.
10:55There have been suspended hundreds, hundreds of surgeries that means, that translate into people that are having difficulties in accessing,
11:10and in having their attention, their much needed attention.
11:17And all of this is being caused by the consequences of this policy.
11:23What happened a few moments ago was a reinforcement of Cuban dignity in the international arena,
11:31in the multilateral platform, in the multilateral arena that represents the United Nations.
11:36And at this hour, what is happening as well, is once again the U.S. trying to justify an unjustifiable
11:43cause,
11:44and that is creating hunger, creating destabilization, social and political destabilization on Cuba,
11:53that have been as well facing for many decades those attempts that have already failed,
11:58because it hasn't, they haven't been able to achieve their goals of changing,
12:05of changing the political path that Cubans have decided to pursue in the face of the hostilities.
12:11Now the delegate is trying as well to bring back the ideas of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro,
12:24who is late in 2016, and also it is happening as well in a context in which the U.S.
12:33is trying as well to,
12:36through a psychological work, try to even thread the Cuban militarily,
12:42and is also looking after, targeting the U.S., the Cuban revolutionary leader,
12:50and Army General Raul Castro Cruz, who is 95 years old.
12:55And also a few days, just a few days, just not even one week before this deception,
13:02they also impose charges on Army General, Cuban Army General Raul Castro Cruz.
13:10The Minister of Cuba is offering statements.
13:13...of the rules of procedure of the General Assembly and extended practice,
13:19I would like you to call to order the permanent representative of the United States
13:24for his offensive comments to the dignity of the Cuban government and people.
13:31Thank you for your point, which will be reflected in the record of our meeting.
13:35I request the distinguished representative of the United States to continue.
13:43Once again, the Foreign Affairs Minister Bruno Rodriguez-Parrilla requested the floor,
13:49requested to offer statements regarding as well, taking into account the rule of procedure
13:57of the United Nations in this specific debate, he said to the representative of the United States
14:05to hold back his offensive comments on the dignity of the Cuban people and government.
14:12The U.S. representative is once again trying to justify U.S. actions against the island,
14:22and while also targeting Cuban leaders, we could see that he was even holding the picture of Cuban president,
14:30Miguel Diaz-Canel, who has been also the target of misinformation campaigns.
14:37Also, as the whole government have been also facing the huge and brutal campaign of misinformation,
14:46that has its center, its epicenter from southern Florida.
14:54It is not the feeling, it is not the belief of the great majority of Cubans living in the United
15:00States,
15:00nor in the diaspora. Cubans want reconciliation, and they have proven their resilience over the decades,
15:09over decades, after suffering for many years, the consequences of the siege that has been imposed in Cuba,
15:19that hampers the Cuban authorities and also Cuban companies and enterprises,
15:25private and public sectors, hampers their ability to achieve and to buy from third countries,
15:32much-needed aid, much-needed goods that are needed by the population in order to have a regular and common
15:44life.
15:45During the COVID-19 pandemic, Cuba faced at the very moment precisely two pandemics.
15:51One of them was the COVID-19, but also the other was facing that challenge,
15:56facing that health crisis in the midst of a brutal siege that prevented the island
16:01from acquiring inputs necessary for the production of their own vaccines.
16:06And in the midst of this, precisely the pandemic has been a crucial example of the resilience of Cubans,
16:14and also their determination to keep moving forward in the midst of any circumstances.
16:21And that was what made possible the creation of over four anti-COVID-19 pandemics.
16:30And that was possible even in the midst of the policy of attempted isolation to which the U.S. have
16:40been trying to put Cuba.
16:42But in the midst of this reality, Cuba hasn't been able to be isolated from the rest of the world.
16:47Cuba keeps providing medical assistance to those places that are in need.
16:53An example of that is, and it's very recent, is Venezuela during the June 24th earthquakes that shook the nation
17:03in a back-to-back earthquake of 7.2 and 7.5.
17:08And Cubans were here, they were offering, they never left, and Cuban physicians were here present during that humanitarian emergency.
17:22And that has been the reality throughout decades.
17:26Cuba is sending abroad physicians and doctors and not bombs.
17:32That is as opposite to what is happening in the United States.
17:36That is an hegemony in decay and is trying to impose by force his expansion.
17:43And they are doing so without even disguising their intentions of having Latin America as the backyard.
17:52It is a symbolic, it is a symbolic aim.
17:55It is a symbolic wimp to overthrow the revolutionary government that Cuba has defended along with her people for over
18:0860 decades.
18:09Since 1959, under the leadership of Fidel Castro Rus.
18:14And that willingness remains intact.
18:18The capacity of Cuba of facing the most brutal and the most powerful nation on earth.
18:27And having it just 90 miles away from Cuban shores.
18:32It is not, it hasn't been an easy task.
18:37However, they have prevailed and Cuba will prevail in the face of this hostilities.
18:45This crucial moment for Cubans come in a very difficult circumstance.
18:51And that is the uprise of the far right in Latin America.
18:56They have created an alliance among all of those far right governments in the region.
19:05As a way as well of leaning, of forcing them on changing their stance towards Cuba.
19:15Through the spread of lies as he is doing precisely right now.
19:22Trying to justify the unjustifiable cause of trying to take Cuba from the place that the island has earned for
19:32many years.
19:32Through solidarity efforts.
19:35Through as well the self-determination of keep defending the path that begun not just in 1959.
19:46Cuba is the result of centuries of struggle against colonialism.
19:52First in the early, in the late 17th century.
19:58With the first revolutions against the colonial and the Spanish Empire.
20:05And then with the neo-colonial era.
20:09Facing for many centuries the presence of the United States so close to Cuban shores.
20:18And their long-standing policy of the Monroe Doctrine of Latin America for the US.
20:29And Cuba has been the unbearable truth of not being able of imposing their policies on their shores.
20:44And Cuba has defended itself on every occasion.
20:50Let's not forget the Bay of Pigs and what happened there.
20:55And that is precisely the seed.
20:58The determination that Cubans had and have still in the face of renewed military threats against the island.
21:08The island is willing to defend itself in the face of any attempts, in the face of any threats.
21:17And also the attitude of the stance of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez at this hour.
21:25Is precisely a proof of this.
21:28From the diplomatic sphere but also in every aspect of the island.
21:33And in every sector of the island.
21:36Cuba is willing to keep defending itself from isolation.
21:40To the isolation, from the isolation that the US is trying to put them.
21:44With the force, for example, after forcing the, that those mainly Spanish enterprises that work in Cuba in the tourism
21:57sector.
21:57They forced them through extraterritorial sanctions on leaving the island.
22:04Many dead, but many, many others are still working on the island.
22:08Regardless of the threats and the imposition of unilateral and coercive sanctions on them.
22:15Cuba is not alone, hasn't been alone in the midst of the scarcity that has been imposed due to the
22:25lack of fuel.
22:26And also because of the economic blockade that has been strengthened on Cuba on 2026.
22:33Cuba hasn't been alone, not even a single time.
22:37We've seen thousands of solidarity activists that have been travelling to Cuba with much needed aid.
22:47And we've seen very discreet and small vessels, but also we've seen bigger ones.
22:53And we've seen, most importantly, the movement of solidarity that Cuba inspires for the rest of the world.
23:05Because of their continuous struggle for the just causes of the world.
23:11Let's not forget, for example, the stance of Cuba in the face of the genocide imposed in Palestine.
23:17Let's not forget the support, the help that Cuba offered during the apartheid.
23:25As mentioned, it was clearly mentioned precisely just a few moments ago on behalf of Namibia,
23:35who was speaking as well on behalf of the African group.
23:38Cuba has much to offer scientific development and human resources.
23:45And also has supported other nations, most particularly in the region, in Cuba, with the illiteracy campaigns.
23:55The Minister of Foreign Affairs is at this hour asking the floor, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez.
24:14Thank you, Mr. President.
24:17On the basis of Rule 71, of the Rules of Procedure of the General Assembly, and of long-established practice
24:26of this august event,
24:29I would like you to call to order the lying permanent representative of the United States who is offending this
24:36delegation,
24:37a delegation of a member state.
24:41And we thank you for all of that publicity about Cuban tourist destinations.
24:46Please allow U.S. citizens to travel freely to Cuba.
24:53The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, was once again challenging the lies being spread by the U.S. delegate
25:02at this hour of debate.
25:04And he said, you should respect the right of U.S. citizens to travel freely to Cuba, to learn for
25:16themselves the reality of the island.
25:18You should let them visit our touristic destinations.
25:24It doesn't exist.
25:25It doesn't exist.
25:26It does not exist.
25:27It does not exist.
25:28And it did.
25:28Those were the statements at this hour of the Foreign Affairs Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Carrilla,
25:36during the assessments of the U.S. delegate in the United Nations.
25:41As he has come today to the United Nations headquarters in New York to offend the Cuban people,
25:54to spread lies about the justifications that the U.S. is using precisely during this administration against the Cuban people.
26:03The imposition of unilateral sanctions is a violation of the United Nations Charter.
26:09And it is a disgrace that he is using precisely this multilateral arena to use this space on his behalf,
26:20on trying to manipulate the international opinion regarding a small island in Cuba that has done nothing wrong
26:29but trying to defend its sovereignty, its territorial integrity, such as is established by the United Nations Charter.
26:39So, it is a moment, a very complex moment for the free peoples of the world.
26:47It is a threat.
26:49The U.S. is a threat.
26:51Cuba is not.
26:52It is a threat.
26:53The maintenance of Cuba in the list of countries' sponsors of terrorism is…
26:58The billions documented in Gais' secret financial accounts…
27:01It goes against all ethics because Cuba has been the one suffering for many decades of terrorism,
27:09of unilateral sanctions that are unjustifiable because historically the U.S. has been home to many terrorists
27:22who have committed terrorism against Cuba or have attempted to or have been behind…
27:29or have been the mastermind behind terrorist actions against Cuba.
27:34So, this is a double…
27:39This shows once more the double standards of U.S. politicians…
27:45And regarding when it comes to their foreign affairs and their stance, their particular stance against Cuba,
27:55it is a manipulative action that is also being pursued by the U.S. Secretary of State,
28:04who comes precisely from Cuban parents, who was not born in Cuba even when he says so.
28:15And I think that this shows as well the double standards, the intentions of many politicians
28:23on pursuing a political career and having the sympathy of a small group of Cuban-Americans
28:32that left and also received money from these actions against Cuba.
28:42At this hour, the diplomat, the U.S. representative to the United Nations,
28:48has ended his words that have been as well challenged throughout his speech
28:53by Foreign Affairs Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Barrilla.
29:03And it happens as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba…
