00:00The total is fascinating to me here, Greg, because we're seeing six, six and a half here.
00:07And we're talking a hodgepodge of guys for Tampa Bay that could be throwing in this.
00:14And even while Mizorowski has been fantastic, it's not like he's not striking out the world.
00:21He has given up some runs here.
00:24I'm wondering if this total is too low tonight here.
00:28And it's only because he's simply pitching.
00:31So Mizorowski had seven strikeouts and 41 swings in the last game.
00:37That's 17%.
00:38That's the lowest in any start he made in 2026.
00:42He struck out 14 of 55 batters in the postseason, which is 25%.
00:48In the regular season, he was 37%.
00:50That led Major League Baseball.
00:52So to your point, maybe something is percolating here a little bit,
00:56whether it is getting tired or nerves or whatever it is.
01:01But he has not been the regular Miz.
01:03But I would caution to be careful here because he is on full rest.
01:07And there's no question this is the biggest start of his career.
01:10He knows it.
01:11Everybody else knows it.
01:12So I would expect a good start for him today.
01:15But it is uncharted territory, Joe, for him and for everybody else, by the way.
01:19It's uncharted territory just as much for Miz as it is Drew Rasmussen.
01:23None of these guys have gone this deep into the season.
01:25But we're headed toward November here.
01:27So I do think Miz shows up today.
01:31I do.
01:32I do think he does.
01:33I can't give you the over on the innings.
01:36I can't do that just because I feel like we've talked about this for weeks.
01:40And every time we go that way, the guy comes out.
01:43I think Peralta went over a couple of times, which was shocking because he was like five clean or six
01:49clean.
01:50But generally, we want to go back to 1996 and think, okay, Clemens and Randy Johnson, they're going to go
01:57seven, eight innings.
01:58Bumgarner.
01:59It doesn't happen.
02:00The managers are on the top step in the third inning.
02:04And for Tampa, it is different than Milwaukee just because I don't know who Tampa would go to.
02:09Like if Rasmussen had to come out after four innings, who is the go-to guy for that?
02:15Like is it Baker in the fifth?
02:16Like maybe.
02:17I don't know.
02:19So whereas Milwaukee, I kind of feel like they have some better options that haven't been as used.
02:23So I don't know.
02:25It's a guess for me, though, not really knowing how Miz is feeling.
02:28But knowing that he's on full rest, that's good.
02:31Rasmussen not good last time out on short rest.
02:33But there's no choice tonight.
02:35He's got to go.
02:36No, he's got to go.
02:37And they'll bring in Nick Martinez, who threw a couple innings, right?
02:41Yesterday.
02:41But he was your game one starter, right?
02:45Like he was your game one.
02:46It would have made sense for him tonight to be the matchup.
02:50Except for the fact that they had to bring him in last night.
02:52I know.
02:53I know.
02:55What I mean is, what did he throw?
02:57Two innings?
02:59Not a ton.
03:00But you would assume, like, the Rays have to kind of say to themselves, look, if we get to seven
03:06games, who the hell is going to pitch in this thing?
03:08And I would assume it'd be him now.
03:09I can't imagine they use Martinez again today.
03:12Maybe.
03:13I guess.
03:13They're down to, like, no options here.
03:15So, I mean, look, Cole Seltzer is not somebody that they planned on using.
03:20They're, you know, and Kelly hasn't been that good in the postseason.
03:24You know, Seymour, as you said, they've been using him up, too.
03:27I don't know.
03:27I hate to play that whole bullpen game because it could go to crap and then both guys could go
03:31six innings.
03:32Could Baker go more than two?
03:35Not tonight.
03:35I mean, he's never done it.
03:36Not tonight.
03:37No, he did two yesterday.
03:38They wouldn't burn him.
03:39No.
03:40Oh, he'll pitch again tonight if they need him, but another two innings?
03:44I don't think so.
03:47They can't use Wells, who amazingly was actually efficient in that game last night in the extra innings.
03:55Boozer is another guy.
03:56He's already pitched a couple of days in a row.
03:59And you don't even trust a lot of these guys.
04:02No.
04:03You're going to need Steve, which I found interesting in game one, right?
04:07Was it game one?
04:09They brought in Steven Matz as the first choice coming out of the bullpen.
04:13It was either in game one.
04:15And he wasn't terrible at all.
04:17So I found that very interesting.
04:20And Clevenger hadn't pitched since the middle of September before they brought him into the game earlier.
04:27What was it?
04:28He didn't pitch yesterday, but he pitched in that first game.
04:32So I don't, I mean, you're not rolling Seymour out again anymore, at least not for more than
04:37an inning.
04:38And then what happens with the matchups, Craig, since you're so severely limited, does righty,
04:44righty, lefty, does that go out the window at this point?
04:47It's whoever is available.
04:49Is that who Cash calls to here?
04:52Or can you still play that game?
04:54Maybe a little bit, but you're right.
04:56With the usage, it's kind of hard to do.
05:00You know, for Milwaukee, the only one that I'd be questionable with, and it just comes down
05:04to who Pat Murphy is going into this game is, based on what Drohan did yesterday, is he
05:10the one that you wouldn't pitch based off what you saw yesterday?
05:13And you never know.
05:14Pat Murphy may say, listen, I ain't letting this guy go out in this World Series the way
05:18that he went out last night.
05:20Or do you take the opposite approach?
05:22You're like, all right, we got to shelve him.
05:24And we'll go to like Woodruff or something like that instead.
05:26So interesting decisions will have to be made tonight.
